The First-Responders is a contemporary romance, novella series. Each book will be able to be read as a standalone. Book 1 is about Macy, a graduate student and soon to be elementary school teacher, and Seth, a firefighter.
Macy has had a rough go of it with boyfriends lately. “Bad luck or no luck at all” seems to be her constant go-to phrase.
Seth is a firefighter at a Santa Barbara sub station, and is pretty much the Greek god Adonis come-to-life in Macy’s eyes. The question is, though, how to get him to notice her.
There is an electric current in the air from the first moment they meet. Seth is a perfect gentleman and Macy, as always, falls hard… both figuratively and literally.
But it doesn’t take long for things to start falling apart.
Unexpected surprises lead her down a road she had never even considered.
Macy has a decision to make once her rose-colored glasses have been removed. Will she, or won’t she?
Sparks are definitely going to fly!

Excerpt
“Slower, Seth. It’s too big.” He pulls back out of me before pushing back in more gently. “Jesus. It’s like you’re invading every crevice.” I run my fingers down his perfectly sculpted chest.
“You’re so fucking tight; it’s hard to hold back. I want to put every last inch of me inside of you. You’re so wet and so ready.”
“Slowly then, Seth.” I place my hands on my shins and pull my legs as far apart as I can. He slides all the way into me until I can feel his balls against my ass. “Fucking shit! Oh my god, don’t move.”
As I let my body adjust to his full intrusion, he starts to rub my clit with two fingers, slowly at first, then rapidly picking up pace. He moves away from me with his hips and then dips them back in. It’s a little easier this time. My pussy has stretched and is more compliant.
“Okay, Seth. I’m ready.” He begins rocking his hips, pulling half way out and dropping back into me. His balls slap my sensitive ass, turning me on even more.
“Mmm, that pussy is absolutely perfect. You’ve got a grip on my cock like you plan on never letting it go.” He starts to pick up speed, and the feeling of fullness is pure bliss.
Suddenly, there’s another cock over my face, and I grab at it greedily, pulling it down to my mouth. I want it desperately. Need it. In my mouth. Down my throat. While Seth is fucking me.
What the fuck?! I sit up in bed, my orgasm still tingling through my body. My panties are soaked. Completely. My heart is racing.
Holy shit. Did that really just happen?

About The Author

I’m 35 and live in Texas where I run a restaurant 5 days a week. I have been married to my amazing wife for going on 12 years and have two great little boys who keep us on our toes. I started writing last year after my wife, Author Marie James, had been doing so for a year. I enjoyed writing short stories in middle school and high school, so I thought I’d give it a whirl. After reading her books, along with three of my other favorite authors, MNever, CJ Roberts, and JA Huss, I began writing romance and erotica.
I have a total of 12 novellas planned right now in 4 different series. Some Rom-Com, some sports romance, and definitely some KINK! Just a heads up when reading though:

Title : Maximum Rush
Author : Misti Murphy
Genre: Romance

Rush Hadley wants two months of my time in exchange for the only interview the magic man’s ever done. It’s the opportunity of a lifetime. A make or break point in my journalism career. All I have to do is entertain the famous magician.
A billionaire playboy who doesn’t understand the word no, he’s stubborn, one-track minded, and set on getting me into his bed. Men like him ruin girls like me with their dirty mouths and wicked tricks, but I’m not gullible enough to fall for his charms, even if his touch feels like magic.
Maxi O’Keeffe is a sexy little challenge I intend to have my way with. She might have said no, might keep saying no, but I always get what I want. The quirky goody-two-shoes isn’t going to hold out forever.
Uncomfortably awkward and downright weird, she shouldn’t be the only person who gets me. She shouldn’t be more than a way to pass time in this boring old town. So why does she get me higher than any audience screaming my name?

Misti Murphy is a sadistic b*tch who loves to emotionally torture fictional people. If she did that in real life she’d probably end up in prison or a psych ward so she prefers to create dirty talking alphas and the sexually frustrated women who fall into their beds. And if someone needs to be smacked upside the head before f*cking turns to love then that makes her very happy indeed.
She’s a huge believer in flaws making us human, and that not everyone likes bacon. She’s also addicted to chocolate and scared of the effects of the coming shortage. She swears like a f*cking trooper, and thinks that graphic smuttiness should be as real in fiction as it is in real life.
When she’s not writing she’s the perfect housewife and mother. Ha bloody ha! When she’s not writing she’s hiding in a cupboard with her kindle, scoffing chocolate, and stalking facebook.

“Let me have her.” I held my hands in the direction of Colin, who’d been pacing with Charlotte in his arms. She was the only happy person in the room and had entertained herself for the past ten minutes by chewing on her fist.
He deposited her into my arms and resumed pacing. She grabbed at my chunky silver necklace and lunged for my curls. I knew she wanted to play peek-a-boo in my hair because lately that was her favorite entertainment.
“No, babykins. Let’s leave Mommy’s hair alone for tonight.” I swept my curls back with my free hand, and she giggled into my chest. My hair had grown even longer in Caleb’s absence, since I hadn’t had the desire to do anything with it. But my hair didn’t matter, Charlotte’s slobbery little mouth didn’t matter, nothing mattered. We were about to be a family—for the first time.
A surge went through me. I was giddy. Manic, even, at the thought of Caleb’s return.
I blew a fart noise on Charlotte’s cheek and she laughed more.
Bouncing Charlotte on my hip, we turned again to the window, and she reached her chubby hand to the glass, as if trying to touch the night. I’d dressed her in a frothy, hot pink dress with a tulle skirt. She looked unbearably adorable, and it would be impossible for Caleb not to recognize his own child with big blue eyes so identical to his.
Colin’s phone buzzed. “It’s him.” He inhaled sharply, then answered and grinned. “Hey. Yeah, we’re all here. Okay.” He hung up. “Caleb and Dad and Mom are in the lobby.”
Laura gave a little muffled cry and hugged Sarah, who stared hard at me over Laura’s shoulder.
“I’m fine,” I mouthed to her, not feeling fine at all. I kissed Charlotte’s cheek. “Daddy’s home,” I whispered, trying not to shake too much. Charlotte seemed unusually heavy.
After a few seconds, a nervous, barking laugh escaped my lips. “How long does it take for the elevator to crawl up here?”
No one responded.
Then, the ding of the elevator bell.
The sliding open of the doors.
And my husband walked in.

Blurb
One month.
One movie.
One shot at a second chance.
I fell madly in love at first sight with Jane Lewis.
The girl with bright blue eyes, a pretty smile, and great ass owned my heart. I thought she was happy with the status quo, but ten years later, I foolishly let her go. Despite dating other women, no one compares to my first love. We are meant to be together, and I’m going to try my damnedest to convince her of that.
Luke Anders tricked me. The deal was sealed before I knew he was behind it.
We agreed to be just friends. Simple. Easy. But it’s not just the weather that’s hot in Texas. I was a fool to think I could resist him. He knows how to work his charms and those kissable lips, that great jaw, and biceps. We are here to work, but he has become downright distracting.
I’m strong. I can handle one month of his flirtatious sexual torture. But if I happen to fall in bed with that sexy bastard for a night, or three, does that make me weak? Asking for a friend, of course.
I guess I’m about to find out when love gets messy, it’s not just the talk that’s dirty.

Blurb
Everything you’ve heard about modeling is true, and you haven’t heard the half of it.
It’s glamorous.
It’s sexy.
And yes, the line between work and reality often blurs.
We’re not just prototypes of perfection. Models have feelings and desires, too. We may be genetically gifted, but we’re still human.
I’m only human. Yes, an extraordinary specimen that earns more in a day than most make in a year, but this eight pack didn’t create itself. I spend hours working on this body. The good looks just come natural. *Winks* Thanks, Mom and Dad.
I’m Danny Weston, Supermodel.
But one path was traded for another when I chose this career. Ten years later, I would trade my career to have it back. To have her back.
Reese Carmichael is the one woman I would give it all up for, and the only one I can’t have. Yet.

Meet S.L. Scott

New York Times and USA Bestselling Author, S. L. Scott, was always interested in the arts. She grew up painting, writing poetry and short stories, and willing her days away lost in a good book and the movies.
With a degree in Journalism, she continued her love of the written word by reading American authors like Salinger and Fitzgerald. She was intrigued by their flawed characters living in picture perfect worlds, but could still debate that the world those characters lived in were actually the flawed ones. This dynamic of leaving the reader invested in the words, inspired Scott to start writing with emotion while interjecting an underlying passion into her own stories.
Living in the capital of Texas with her family, Scott loves traveling and avocados, beaches, and cooking with her kids. She’s obsessed with epic romances and loves a good plot twist. She dreams of seeing one of her own books made into a movie one day as well as returning to Europe. Her favorite color is blue, but she likens it more toward the sky than the emotion. Her home is filled with the welcoming symbol of the pineapple and finds surfing a challenge though she likes to think she’s a pro.

Excerpt
“Excuse me?”
She jumps at the sound of my voice, giving me a faint smile that strengthens my resolve to talk to her.
I stick out my hand. “Hi, I’m Brett.” She takes it, timid but firm.
“Mia.”
“At risk of sounding like a creeper, we’ve been following each other since Charlotte.” I lean against the gas pump. Mia takes a look around me and her smile grows.
“You’re right.”
I run my hand through my hair. “I’m going inside to grab a drink. May I get you something?”
She replaces the pump and tightens the gas cap on her car. “Are you trying to pick me up at a gas station?” The humor is dancing in her eyes.
“Well, yeah, I guess I am.” I shrug. “If we’re road tripping, probably not smart to take you to a bar.I mean, I know its not Starbucks, but–”
She brushes her long hair off her shoulder, the corner of her mouth twitching. “A cup of coffee would be great.”
I push off the pump station and turn to replace the pump. We lock our cars and walk toward the store.
“So Mia, where are you heading?”
“San Antonio. You?”
“Austin.”
Grabbing the door, she walks under my arm inside, leaving a trace of vanilla and cinnamon behind. I could breathe that in all day.
I follow her to the coffee machines, noticing her petite frame. Her arms are smaller than they should be and a worry I can’t explain overcomes me.
Without looking at me, she reaches for a coffee pot and pours the liquid into a small cup. “Austin, huh?” I watch her full lips blow the steam across the top and I have to remind myself that I’m in a public place.
“Yeah, looking for a new adventure.” Her eyebrows perk up. I grab a large coffee cup and rip open four sugar packets. Placing the cup under the instant coffee dispenser, I hit the button for the vanilla cappuccino. Out of the corner of my eye, she’s staring at me, mouth open.
“What?”
She blinks. “Nothing. It’s just…that’s a lot of sugar.” She giggles as I stare at my cup. “How do you even taste the coffee?”
She laughs even harder as I scrunch my face. “Ugh! Why would you want to taste that?” Her laugh is adorable and hearty. And contagious.
I stir my cup and lean against the counter. “Don’t judge my coffee.” Chuckles rumbling through my body.I take a sip and tip my head to the snack aisle.
“Hungry?”
“Drinks and dinner? You sure do spoil a girl on a first date.”
“I do what I can.”
We walk around the back side of a rack to the snack aisle. I immediately grab a bag of gummy worms and beef jerky. Mia’s bottom lip is clamped between her teeth, her shoulders twitching with a laugh.
“What?” I give her a glare. “Are you judging my food too?”
“I would never!” Her mock horror has me laughing along with her.
“Whatever. Beef jerky is healthy. It’s protein.”
Her eyes twinkle. “Whatever you say.”
“What are you going to have?”
“Oh, no. I’m good. Maybe just a bottle of water.”
I purse my lips in disbelief as she starts to walk towards the coolers. “Can you grab me one too?” I call. She whips her head around and nods, giving me a small smile that makes me want to stay in this gas station for a long time.
I finally decide on my snacks and realize that Mia isn’t back. I walk towards the coolers looking for her. Rounding the corner, I see her sitting on the floor next to a key chain display, laughing.
“What are you doing?” I squat next to her.
“Sorry, this caught my eye and I just kept reading them. Here.” She hands me one of the key chains. It says “Nothing like a good…” with a close up picture of a peach on it.
I chuckle as she laughs. “Well, they aren’t wrong.”
“I don’t know why I find that as funny as I do.”
I look up, noticing the trucker hats hanging on the wall. “If you think that’s funny—” I grab a red cap with a girl’s silhouette on it on all fours. “Booty hunter.”
Mia throws her head back as I model the hat. “That’s amazing. You look like that fits you perfectly.”
“Well, what can I say. I have a good aim, if you know what I mean.” I wink as her, sending her into another fit of giggles.
Standing up, she grabs a black one that says ‘I’d rather be F___ing.’
“Yep, this is the hat for me.” She adjusts it on her head and turns to model it, giving me the duck face.
“You’ll probably get some attention, that’s for sure.”
“Read the fine print, perv.”
I lean closer, that smell of cinnamon and vanilla wafting through my senses. “Fishing? Shit, got me.” She laughs, taking the hat off.
“God they have some tacky stuff in here.”
“You seem to be loving it.”
She nods. “Duh. How could you not?” She picks up her coffee and checks her watch. “We might want to get a move on. Burning daylight.”
“Are you sure you don’t want anything to eat?”
“Liquid diet right now.” She holds up the coffee.
“So I’ll be prepared to stop in thirty minutes when you have to pee?”
Mia pops my arm. “Or when your stomach turns on you.” She eyes my snack selection.
“I have a steel stomach, Doll.” I pat my stomach as she rolls her eyes.
Checking out, we walk back to our cars.
“I know this is weird, but can I get your number? If we’re heading the same way, might be nice to have someone to talk to.”
Mia nods. “I’d love that.” She hands me her phone as I hand her mine.
“Booty Hunter?” She laughs at the name I put in her phone. I look down at mine and laugh with her. “F***ing Mia? Classic.”
As she climbs into her car, I lean into her door frame. “Go on ahead, I’ll catch up with you. I forgot something in there.”
“Did you forget another candy bar?” Humor dances in her eyes as she teases me.
“Shut it.”
Nervously, she plays with her coffee sleeve. “I can just wait for you.”
I nod and stand back so she can close her door. “I’ll just be second.”
Running back in, I grab the two hats from the wall, along with the key chain. I don’t know why, but I want to collect as many key chains with her as I can.
I nod to her as I climb into my Jeep. I’ll surprise her with them later. An excuse to see her again.

Vilda lives in a muddy little corner of the world, in the time of the war that never ends. The war between the Waterfolk and the Dreughan. She is different where conformity is important, break rules in a world where punishments are given freely, and she pays for it. If it weren’t for her best friend Troy, she would have no one.
Then Vilda saves the life of a dragon and shortly after that, things are spiraling out of control. The Waterfolk attack, searching for an unclaimed girl, and Vilda has to escape through the night together with Troy and the only other girl the Waterfolk could be looking for – their former best friend, Susannah.
Soon, they find themselves in Dragoncourt, the stronghold of the Dreughan, where a prophecy predicts that the war will finally come to an end when the beautiful Dreughan prince has claimed another royal from the end of the world.
It seems as if Vilda is the girl in the prophecy, and she might be, but she also has a strong link to a young man with black hair and eyes as blue as the summer skies – the prince’s cousin, Drake…

Another way would be to use my imagination and then I would be a super powerful warrior woman, think Xena the warrior princess (though with less tacky clothes). Or when I think of it, maybe I’m actually more of a Hercule Poirot (sans the suit and moustache). Or maybe I’m like Aragorn, strong and cool and then I might get to meet Gandalf! Or I could be Bella’s pretty cousin and snap Jacob up in a second (yeah, I’m so not team Edward), or wait, maybe I could be like one of them heroines in historical novels who swoon all the time. I’ve always wanted to swoon…
Well, I guess you get how my mind is working (or not working, some say). Anyways, I like to write. Stories, adventures, romantic and happy stuff mixed up with sorrow and hardship, and bit of laughter here and there because the way I see it – life is way too short to go around feeling grumpy.
