Una

To many, I am little more than a myth. The Kiss of Death, a hired killer, revered by some of the greatest criminal organisations in the world. Trained by the bratva themselves, without conscience, without mercy, the perfect soldier. I’ll kill anyone… for a price. Death doesn’t discriminate, she sells to the highest bidder, but even I have a weakness.

Nero

I want one thing—power. But power is merely a game of strategy. The pieces are on the chess board. Death is my queen, and also my pawn. She’ll paint this city red in exchange for the one thing she wants. Now all I have to do is watch it all play out. She’s nothing more than a weapon, and yet, I find myself wanting to dance with death, to possess her. And I always get what I want.

A game of power. A risk that could cost her everything. An obsession that would see the world burn at their feet. A bloodied king. A broken queen.

At thirteen years old I was sold, doomed to become a sex slave.
Nicholai Ivanov, boss of the Russian Bratva, gave me the ultimate gift. He saved me from a fate worse than death. He promised to make me strong, because only the strong survive, and the weak die, forgotten and inconsequential.

I now live in a world of blood and violence, where humanity itself is a weakness. My life is not a battle of bad and good, but bad and worse. This is kill or be killed, survival of the fittest.

At the bar, I ordered brandy, swallowed a sip, and then took the curved stairs up to the VIP area. Men sat on dark leather sofas arranged so they overlooked the main jam-packed club area below. I found a single-seater armchair in the corner of the lounge to perch on, my back to the wall.

I never liked sitting in a room with my back exposed. I preferred to see trouble before it found me. Problems were never far away, vacation or not.

From here, I watched male dancers in nothing but jockstraps on raised, caged platforms dotted around the club, sweat and glitter making their toned bodies glisten.

After tossing back the shot, I caught the eye of a young waiter who sauntered over and took my refill order. Waiting for the drink, I took my time to survey the other people in the lounge. A group of three thirty-something-year-old men sat in the section next to mine. Two of them looked like a couple by the way they touched each other.

The third met my gaze and flashed a set of white teeth as he smiled. Arching his brow and lifting his hand, he enquired if he could come over. He was good-looking with dark- brown hair and a well-built body under the t-shirt. Even his trousers seemed to hide a reasonably-sized shaft.

I tried to picture holding the man down, kicking out his legs and taking him over the table. My cock gave an unenthusiastic twitch. I was still too tense to entertain company. With an almost imperceptible shake of my head, I dissuaded him from getting up. The man shrugged and tipped his drink in salute.

The waiter brought my refill. I took a sip and relaxed into the leather chair, welcoming the gentle alcoholic haze in my mind that stripped away my agitation. My gaze trawled, exploring every male form in sight.

Another group of men sat a few sofas away. These were younger than me, too fresh-faced to be nothing more than just barely legal. Boisterous, they talked and laughed in loud voices, drawing attention.

I spotted him and my world skewed.

The boy—he appeared more boy than man—was whispering something to the person sitting next to him, when his blond lashes lifted in a slow, teasing manner.

My heart stopped and my skin prickled. If I wasn’t usually cool under duress, I would’ve been drooling.

The lad was what? Twenty? Twenty-one? Cute as hell in a smart mint-green polo shirt and navy trousers made of expensive shiny fabric that clung to a lean body. He came across as prep-school material and looked young enough to still be in college. Face like a fucking angel, dirty blond hair that flopped over his face, and pink lips that pouted in the way fashion models did.

I had no problem picturing the gioventù on his knees, that mouth stretched around my girth.

As he rose from the sofa, his dark and huge eyes shone with mischief. One of his friends laughed and lowered his head toward the low table, a rolled note in his right hand.

Columns of white powder lined the glass-topped surface and the man leaned over, sniffing half of the line before he straightened and repeated the action with the other nostril. Finally, he tilted his head back, pinching his nose.

My lip curled down, my jaw tightened, and I averted my gaze. The drug remained illegal, but just like homosexuality, it was freely available in Exilado for the right price.

I shouldn’t begrudge the young men their vices any more than I should condemn myself for having sex with other men. Still, I couldn’t help the weight of disappointment that settled on my shoulders. I’d seen the damage addictive drugs could wreck on perfectly normal lives. I’d taken an oath to keep the toxic substances out of Vincenzo territories. San Torino wasn’t my turf and there was nothing I could do other than ignore the young men snorting the white powder.

“Can I buy you a drink?” Blond boy had ambled over and stood only inches away, his lips curled in a ten kilo-watt smile.

My gaze held captivating eyes of dark green. For a moment, I forgot my disgust at what I’d just seen the gioventù’s friend do and simply admired the specimen before me. The flawless skin, the perfect nose, and the slender body of a person on the cusp of manhood made me increasingly aware of my own increasing heart beat.

Damn. He was beautiful. I didn’t think I’d ever described another man with such a word, which reminded me exactly why the lad wasn’t my type. I liked them tougher than he looked. Not delicate. Not someone I had to worry about breaking.

“I’ve got a drink.” I gave a gruff reply and lifted my glass to my lips but I might as well have been drinking water as all my senses honed in on the person in front of me.

Undeterred, the boy lowered his body in the chair opposite and extended his hand. “I’m Carl. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

I stared at the manicured, slender fingers that didn’t look as if they’d seen a day’s labour, reinforcing the feeling Carl wasn’t for me. It didn’t stop me from picturing them stroking my skin as my cock sprang to life.

“I didn’t invite you to join me.” My tone remained cool, in contrast to the heat riding my blood.

“You didn’t.”

“I’m not interested.”

“I bet I could make you interested.” Carl leaned across and settled his hand on my thigh.

What happens when you’re attracted to the wrong person?

AIDEEN

I didn’t expect to feel so drawn to my best friend’s father when I first meet him.

It’s unexplainable and most of all, it’s unexpected. He drinks too much, is rough around the edges, and is so obviously into casual sex and nothing more, but there’s just something about him that calls out to me.

I’ve thought my heart was battered beyond repair, but maybe I have been wrong.

“There was something so sexual, so carnal, so intense in the way Jensen looked at me.’’

JENSEN

She is my son’s best friend and I know he wants more, but I can’t help it. Whenever she is around or her name is mentioned I’m turned on. I’m not used to denying myself to feeling so strongly for a woman so young, but she gets me.

I can’t do a damn thing to stop these feelings.

No amount of alcohol helps.

I didn’t think it could be possible to feel so drawn to a woman, but it looks like I have been dead wrong.

“I want her to want me just as madly as I do her.’’

She’s never been bitten. This should be fun.

The kiss method is the only acceptable way to feed on a human, for they experience just as much pleasure from the bite as we feel drinking their blood. It’s euphoric, and some humans even become addicted to the sensation.

I thumb her shiny wet lips covered in pink gloss and gently glide my thumb over them back and forth. Appreciative of my touch, she kisses my thumb and closes her eyes to take a deep breath. Then opens them looking into mine just as hungry.

“I’ve been waiting for you, my Lord.” She backs away slowly, stroking her fingertips over her ample cleavage. “You’re a dying breed.”

“You don’t say.” I raise my eyebrow, inching closer as she steps backward in her red heels.

“A vampire, who enjoys the thrill of the chase.” Her trailing seduction leads her to stand next to the exit door.

I like where this is going.

I stalk toward her, running my sharp nails along the surface of the stainless steel countertop.

I tilt my head slightly. “Are you implying, you want me to chase you? Hunt you down? Ravish you?”

She doesn’t hesitate. “That’s exactly what I’m implying. I want you to bite me, Vladimir…” The words “bite me” to a vampire sound just as tempting as hearing the words “fuck me” to an average man. “And when you catch me, you can have me any way you want,” she moans, slowly sliding her hands down her hips. A laugh escapes her lips and then she scurries out of the door. I give her a head start before sprinting after her.

I’m really starting to like this girl.

Enticing yellow synopsis
Wild, reckless, and fast. That’s how I raced until a fatal accident on the track ruined my riding career. I had no choice but to leave that life behind; at least, until now. My name is Logan Chandler, one of the best FBI agents in the country. When an old friend calls for help and winds up dead, I take matters into my own hands. In order to do that, I have to go back to my past, back to the racetrack and to the one girl I never thought I’d see again . . . Kassidy Bennett.

She’s the key to solving it all, but bringing her in could put her in grave danger. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize she was already there. To save her, I have to put everything on the line. It’s a race against time, a race to the death, and only one will make it to the end.

“Kassidy, I know you’re in there. Please open the door.” There was a sheer curtain over the glass panes and if I moved across the room he’d see me. All I could hear was the thumping of my heart. “Kassidy, please. I need to talk to you. I’m not leaving until I do. You know I won’t.”
“Shit,” I hissed low. He was right. If anyone had the patience to sit around for hours, it was him. He’d done the same thing to me years ago when I told him I wouldn’t go on a date with him. He stayed on my porch for hours and slept on the swing. At the time, I loved his persistence. I wanted to go on a date with him, but I was curious to see how far he’d go.

Knowing he wouldn’t leave unless I made him, I thrust the door open, embracing the anger I felt welling in my chest. I needed it to get rid of him. Logan stepped back and I held my breath, taking in the desperate look in his eyes. For a second, I could feel my resolve slip, but then I remembered the hurtful words he said to me in the hospital.

“There’s nothing to say, Logan. If you want to say you’re sorry, then say the words and get the hell out of here. Other than that, I have no desire to see or talk to you.”

He looked straight into my eyes. “Saying I’m sorry doesn’t even begin to cover it, but I am. I am so fucking sorry for what I did.”

“Great, you said it. We’re done here. Goodbye Logan.” I slammed the door on him and locked it.

“Dammit, Kassie.”

“Don’t call me that!” I shouted, slamming my hand against the door.

He moved closer to the door and I stepped back. “I know you’re pissed at me, but I need you to hear me out. I’ll stay out here the whole night if I have to.”

“Not if I call the police.”

“They’re not gonna be able to do anything to me. At least, not before I get in there myself.” The doorknob wiggled and I gasped.

“What are you doing? You can’t come in here,” I growled.

“Yes, I can, and I will. If it’s the only way to make you listen I don’t care what I have to do.” He fumbled with the doorknob again and I choked, stumbling back into one of my bar stools. I had no doubt he could get in my house, but I wasn’t going to be in it when he did. Grabbing my phone, I jammed it into my back pocket and raced to my bedroom, locking the door behind me. I had to get out of there fast.

I changed into a pair of jeans and fetched my black leather jacket out of my closet so I could put it on. My motorcycle and helmet were in my garage but all I had to do was climb out my window to get to them. “Kassie!” Logan called out. The front door slammed shut and I sucked in a breath; it was time.

Opening my window, I carefully slipped out. Logan knocked on my bedroom door and tried my handle. “Kassidy, please come out. I don’t want to do this.”

As soon as I was out the window, I raced to my garage. Slamming my helmet on my head, I jumped on my bike and turned the key. The engine roared to life as I revved it and I sped out of the garage as fast as I could. Logan had no idea I could ride, but I wished I could see the look on his face when he saw me. All I knew was that I had to get away from him, and fast.

Once out of the driveway, I took a left turn, clearly realizing the lapse in judgment. It was the road I’d avoided ever since Levi died on it. “Dammit,” I cried. My eyes started to water and there was no way I could wipe the tears away with my helmet on and going down the road. The sound of Logan’s bike drew close behind and I panicked. What was I going to do?

He gained up to me, clearly not stopping unless I did. More tears fell down my cheeks; especially when I arrived at the spot where Levi was ran off the road. I pulled over and shut off my bike, ripping off my jacket so I could breathe. Logan parked beside me, but I jumped off my bike and walked away from him to the dented guardrail. I took off my helmet and stared at the rubber markings on the metal. My fingers traced the tire marks and I broke down, falling to my knees. My heart felt as if it’d been ripped out my chest.

Logan’s hands closed over my shoulders, but I smacked them away. “Don’t touch me.”

His touch left my body, but I could feel his warmth as he sat beside. “I didn’t know you could ride.”

“Levi and Sean taught me after you left. It helped get my mind off of things.” I tried not to look down in the ravine where Levi was found, but I couldn’t help it. The amount of pain he must’ve felt had to be excruciating. I slammed my hand against the guardrail and sobbed.

“I’m gonna miss him too, Kassidy. Levi was a good friend.”

Angrily, I wiped my tears away and scoffed. “How would you know? You left eight years ago and never looked back.”

Excerpt

It was no joke.

Liam had been waiting in the lobby for her at nine o’clock, sharp. Liam Edenhoff – “but everyone calls me Eden” – he’d introduced himself again to her before guiding her out to a taxi he’d had waiting.

She felt a little nauseous. She’d chugged down another half bottle of wine, and some crème de menthe, before heading downstairs to meet him. She’d almost talked herself out of going, but she’d made the mistake of telling her roommate Tori about the whole fiasco. Apparently, Katya owed it to women everywhere (and Tori in particular) to explore this opportunity to its fullest. She’d all but been shoved out the apartment, the door slammed and locked in her face.

“Nervous?” Liam Eden-whatever-his-name-was asked her as the cab slowed to a crawl.

“Nope,” Katya’s voice sounded overly loud.

“Liar. Tonight is gonna be an interesting night, angel cake.”

“Stop calling me that.”

“What’s your last name?”

“None of your business.”

“Okay then – when the gang bang starts, I’ll tell them to call you Katya X.”

She couldn’t stop the blush from happening that time. Liam burst out laughing, then soothed the sting by grabbing her hand.

Even when they got out of the cab, he didn’t let go of her. Normally, she would’ve been uncomfortable with a stranger assuming such a familiarity with her, but this time, she was thankful for it. She held onto him tightly as they walked down a crowded street. Then they turned into an alley, and his gang bang joke didn’t seem so funny. He led her to a plain door, above which a simple, small, neon sign spelled out “The Garden”. Outside were several small groups of people, chatting and smoking. Some of them called out greetings to him, all of them using his nickname, but a large and scary looking bouncer addressed him very properly.

“Hey, Mr. Edenhoff, wasn’t expecting you in tonight. Any problems?”

“Nope, just bringing a friend to show her the place, let her see what I do for a living.”

All the blood was quickly rushing from Katya’s limbs, pooling somewhere in her stomach. None of this was a joke. He really did own the place, that much was obvious.

As Liam led her through the door, though, Katya actually felt a surge of confidence. She was still nervous, still more than a little scared, but she was okay with it. Liam seemed like a nice guy, he wasn’t going to take her into some dark room and insert foreign objects into her orifices. She could leave whenever she wanted to, whenever it got too uncomfortable. Everything was fine, and for once, she was doing something exciting. She’d een have something interesting to talk about at work the next day.

Finally.

I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball – I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I’m clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.

I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there’s your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair – both a curse and a blessing – and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can’t understand me.

Yeah. I think that about sums me up.

The Biggest A-hole in the World for an Ex- ✔✔

When you’re born you never know what life will throw at you. You just make the best of it no matter what happens. That’s pretty much been my go-to since infancy. Then the charming, bald headed, blue eyed, Brent came along and I thought all the suck in life had been flushed down the drain. Ha! That’s when my true journey began—motherhood.
This is my story, on how I took life by the go-nads when I decided I needed closure from my past—my father’s sudden death in particular. But what happens next wasn’t anything I expected… It’s hopeless… shattering….exciting … scary…joyful…priceless… and I owe it all to one man… Bear, a chapter president of the Sacred Sinners Motorcycle Club.

Warning: Contains adult sexual content, the excessive use of the F-word, cheating, and whatever else that makes it unsuitable for anyone under the age of 18.
1st Novel in a Duology – that could also be read as a possible standalone.

Conflicted The Existing Series Vol 2

by A.M. Guilliams

#LIVE and only #99cents

Blurb:

I’m passionate, caring, and loyal to a fault. All traits that have gotten me to where I am today.

My future was finally headed in the direction I felt it was always meant to go. Anger fueled my determination for success. But life was never that easy. I should’ve known better than to think it would all just fall into place. All it took was one freak accident to cause my whole world to pause, teetering on emotions I never imagined were possible. Promises were made; vows I would keep until the day I died.

Delaney Winters came tumbling into my hometown with nowhere else to turn. Something about her calmed the storm that brewed inside of me. I tried and failed to keep myself from attempting to save her. I wanted to be more than just the hero she claimed she didn’t need.

Feelings were never supposed to develop.

Love was never part of the promise.

How far would you go to keep a promise before you crossed the line to love?

My name is Weston Corbin, and this is my story.

The days were busy, but the nights were hell.
Being so close to Helen, so close but so distant, was taking its toll on his temper.
He looked forward to the evenings, when they would eat together, discussing the day’s events. She had a sharp wit he found alternately amusing and arousing.
It was in those quiet times together that she let down her guard, and the prickly, independent woman of the day revealed a softer side he’d never seen before.
And every night when she got up to go to her own room, it became harder and harder not to stop her. To beg her to let him in her bed.
But he’d told himself he’d give her space. She was pregnant and her lover had died only a few short months earlier.
He didn’t think he could take much more.
Tonight he didn’t know if he could keep himself from seeking out the relief only she could offer.
Darkness had just fallen over the city when he’d arrived home. To her villa, he corrected himself. Thinking of this place as home would be a mistake.
They’d shared dinner and retired to the study to talk, as they did most nights. He couldn’t take his eyes from her as she approached, her small feet bare, two mugs of tea in her delicate hands.
She gave him a quizzical look as she handed him one, laced with the whiskey she knew he liked, and he realized he must have been staring.
He thanked her absently, forcing his gaze out the window of the sitting room. The Serenity Garden was beyond, the nearly full moon gleaming off the pool in the center, casting strange shadows from the carefully groomed shrubbery.
He took a swallow of the tea, scalding his tongue, and cursed quietly.
“Is everything alright?” Helen asked, curling her own small form into the chair adjacent his, hands cupping her mug carefully.
“Yes, everything is fucking fantastic,” he muttered.
“If you’re so over-stressed, perhaps you should go to bed now,” Helen retorted sharply.
Vick groaned, the image of his bed, with her in it, popping into his mind. He dropped his head in his hands, rubbing the palms on his eyes, trying to erase the image.
He heard rustling, and felt Helen’s slender, cool hand on his brow. He breathed deeply of her scent; sharp and tangy citrus.
“You feel warm, but not feverish.”
He laughed softly, mostly at himself.
“Vick, you’re worrying me. What …?” Helen gently forced his face up so she could search his eyes, her hands cupping his bearded jaw.
Sparks of heat traveled from where her hands touched his face and her arm brushed his.
He couldn’t be the kind, understanding friend she needed tonight. Standing abruptly, he pulled her up with him. Her mouth parted in surprise, and he gave in to the urge that had been building for weeks. Since the moment he’d first seen her, in fact.
His mouth lowered, not giving her time to protest or pull away, sealing any sounds inside. He didn’t waste a moment, his lips claiming hers with force, his tongue sweeping inside. His kiss was fast, almost desperate, for he was afraid she’d push him away at any moment.
She tasted of honey and lemon, her soft mouth taut in surprise for a long moment. Fear mingled with need as he began to think he’d been mistaken; that perhaps she didn’t desire him as he did her. He deepened the kiss, feeling as if he was inhaling her essence, breathing the tiny gasps coming from her throat.
Just as he was about to pull away in defeat, she melted into him, her arms coming up to grip his shirt, her tongue tentatively meeting his.
He pulled her tighter against him, his large frame nearly shaking with need and the effort to go slow; to be gentle.
“Vick,” she gasped as his lips left hers for a moment to taste the corner of her mouth, her high cheekbones, and delicate jaw. His hands moved from her shoulders, down her slender sides, and under the satin nightshirt she wore.
She gasped again as his palms grazed her taut nipples, his mouth drinking in the sounds hungrily. He moved lower, and they both froze as he touched the slightly convex shape of her stomach.
He felt her go stiff, her hands lowering from his arms to protectively cover her slight mound. He released her, letting her take a step back, his hands fisting at his sides to keep them from grabbing her again.
Helen swayed slightly, looked bemused, before sinking back into her chair. Her perfectly coiffed hair was mussed, her lips reddened from his kiss, light whisker burns making her smooth skin.
He knew he should probably apologize; to break the tense silence. But he couldn’t, He wasn’t sorry for anything. Except that it ended.
“I want you,” he finally said, “I want you so damn bad its killing me to hold it in. I’m not going to apologize, and I’m not going to stop wanting to have you, any way I can get you. But I can promise you I won’t do anything you don’t want. Even if it means keeping my hands to myself.” His voice was hoarse as he made the promise that was probably going to be his downfall. He looked out at the damn Serenity Garden, feeling frustrated as hell.
When Helen finally spoke, her words surprised him. “I won’t deny I want you, too. But this pregnancy has my emotions so in turmoil, I don’t trust myself … I don’t know what I really feel.”
Vick turned back around, pushing back the strands of hair falling from the leather tie at his neck.
“I’ll give you all the time you need to decide what you want,” he promised rashly, desperately glad she wasn’t demanding he leave her house.
You’re a fool, March. There is no way this can end well for you two.
Since when had that ever stopped him? He wasn’t looking for any happy endings. His hand went to stroke his beard, feeling the scars running along his jawline. He’d learned to take what joy he could, because life had no guarantees. And he would find a hell of a lot of joy from being with Helen, however she let him.
“You’re so generous,” Helen said drily.
Vick grinned in response. “A little too arrogant? Running the State must be going to my head. I’m just not used to so much responsibility in my little ‘ole town of Vicksburg.”
“I can see how it would be a bit of a shock.” Her small smile and dry response told him she wasn’t offended at his gently mockery. Damn, another thing he loved about her; her tough skin and quick wit.
Her expression changed, growing serious. She stood, moving close to face him. Her hand lifted hesitantly to trace the same path his often unconsciously took along his jaw.
He almost jerked away as her gentle touch found the same grooves that hid beneath his beard, scars on his skin that ran much deeper. He forced himself to remain still, letting her hand gently trace the damaged skin, following it to the corner of his mouth, moving over his lips. He couldn’t stop his jaw from clenching with the effort to remain immobile.
She raised on her toes and pulling his head down, kissed his cheek just above his beard, sending a thrill that wasn’t just sexual straight to his chest.
“Sometime, I hope you’ll tell me the story of how this happened.”
“It’s rather dull.” He fought to keep his smile in place and his tone light. “Trust me, you wouldn’t want to hear it.”
“Hmm, I have a feeling I need to hear it,” she replied thoughtfully, and he felt uncomfortably exposed under her gaze. “Or perhaps you need to tell it.”
Vick opened his mouth with a quick retort, but couldn’t force the words out. He turned away with an inarticulate growl. This woman was getting under his skin like no one else had ever been able to.
“Dammit, Helen, just because I want you doesn’t mean I’m going to spill my past while you mop my tears.” He felt remorse as soon as the words left his lips. But the worst part was that he wanted to spill his secrets; to unload on her fragile shoulders. That was ludicrous; he had been self-contained for his entire life. He certainly wasn’t going to start needing someone now.
Helen settled back into her chair, not saying anything. Waiting.
The silence stretched and for once Vick couldn’t seem to find any blase comment to fill it. His hand rose to stroke the scar before his stopped himself.

What did it matter? If she really wanted the whole sordid story, he’d tell her. Maybe then it would help her keep her distance.

To learn how dangerous it was to care about him.
