Addison Holmes Series by Liliana Hart

Standard

The Addison Holmes series is just one of those  that you can’t get enough of. Addison is that type of person that trouble just seems to follow no matter how good she tries to be. She is a free spirit  that seems to just live in the moment not thinking of the possible outcome of her actions.

I picked the first book in this series up not really knowing what to expect. I knew this was a Liliana Hart book but that it, I didn’t read the books synopses. I have read The MacKenzie Family Series knew I love that one and figured I would enjoy this one. I use to say that the Mackenzie was my favorite of hers but I don’t know anymore. Addison story just took hold and I could not put the books down.

As I’m sure most of you know that this series has three books so far. (Hoping for many more!) The first in the series is Whiskey Rebellion, next up is Whiskey Sour and the most recent is Whiskey for Breakfast.

The Billionaire’s Salvation By J. S. Scott

Standard

I’ve been thinking about this review for a few days now, not sure how I’m going to do this book justice. I have to say this book is my favorite so far in the series. It takes off from the very first page and never lets you up for air! J. S. Scott how really out did her self on this one.

The Billionaire's Salvation

In the previous book Max has just found his sister that he didn’t know he had due to being adopted. ( I won’t say too much more than that, don’t want to spoil it for anyone 🙂 ! ) He thought he had lost everything when he lost his wife. Max has withdrawn from everyone and feels like he really has nothing to hope for. He goes through the daily task and social events always wishing he could hold his wife again. Max has never truly felt that his wife is dead but after two years of no contact, no activity on her accounts he tells his self that she is gone.

He has a run in with someone who may be able to pull him from his misery. Can Max be find happiness her truly deserves and that everyone wants to see him find?

” Sweetheart, you don’t say something like that to me and not expect me to respond accordingly. “

Max’s story will keep you on the edge of you seat. Just when you know that Max is going to get his happiness someone walks in and leaves Max wondering what has happened. My emotions were all over the place, your laughing you butt off one minute and reaching for the box of tissues the next. I encourage you all to give The Billionaire’s Salvation a try.

We Roam The Seas ( The Viking Dreams Series)

Standard

Wow I can actually say there is a historical romance that I like, We Roam The Seas by Theresa Marguerite Hewitt. I have been a BIG fan of her since I found The Wakefield Romance series.

When I first heard about her new book/series I thought it was one that I more than likely would not read, as I follow her promotion on this book it started to catch my attention. As you can all see I gave it a shot and fell in love with the book.

I will tell you now that Theresa is an author that will leave you hanging and wanting more at the end of a book. She gives you just enough to have you going in so many directions that you really never know what route she is going to take with a book! This is one thing I enjoy about her.

This is a very emotional story, Freya hand is given in marriage to a man that she has never know. She is taken from her father home to start a new life with her soon to-be husband. The need to be strong an honor her father’s wish and the fear of leaving everything that she has always known. Freya proves not only to be honorable but stronger than most that see her give her credit or.

Asgar is her soon to be husband who has never had the need to protect and want for a women till he lays eyes on Freya. His heart has always been the sea and to protect his people.

“My soul may roam the seas, looking for adventure,” he whispers placing his forehead against hers as he pulls himself from her, lowering her to the ground,” but my heart, my heart will always be here.” He taps his fingers lightly on her chest, resting them there and rubbing in a small circle as he spies the smile on Freya’s lips.

You will not be disappointed with this book. I would recommend You can purchase your copy at the following places

Jane’s Melody

Standard

20130904-203111.jpg

Love this book. I have been on a reading craze lately! As I have said before I normal stick to authors I know or who have been recommended by family and friends.  I have to say that I’m very glad that I followed some advice from other reviews on this book. Ryan Winfield is a wonderful author. I give this book 5 stars out of 5!

You will follow the struggles of Jane while she deals with the death of her daughter and the pain of the lost. Trying to come to some peace and trying to find some well need answers she come to meet Caleb. Thinking she will find some answers she takes Caleb in  and finds that she has an attraction to him. Falling in love with Caleb brings it own set of struggles. Jane question If she should follow her heart, if she should know happiness after the loss of Melody and if she can over come her fear.

image” Okay. I don’t know if I have the right words, but love is this feeling I get when I look at you. A feeling that as long as you’re near me, or in the world even, Then everything will be okay. That everything has meaning. It’s as if the world was all shades of sepia—-like an old movie reel—- and that everywhere I looked I saw suffering and pain. Then I heard your voice, I saw your face, and somehow the color came into everything.”

image

Just when you think Jane has found some form of happiness things seem to come crashing in. You ask your self just how much can one person take before they give up.   We are always told we will never be giving more than you can handle for Jane she question just how much is too much.  Jane I have to stay  is a very strong charter and she makes your see that you can always face more than you feel you can.

Looking forward to reading more of Ryan Winfield books.  You can purchase Jane’s Melody by following the links below

Stepped out side the box!

Standard

I decide to step out side my box of authors that I normally stick with, which is not the norm for me. Saying this I found that it could be a good thing. I came across J. S. Scott Mine For Tonight, download it and kept telling my self it would be the next book I read. When I started it and could not put it down.

20130824-105608.jpg

I fell in love with the story of Simon and Kara. Their connection to each other that they try to ignore and end up not being able to. The struggles they face and created because of each of their past. Simons’ need to have complete control and Kara always struggling to take care of her self. Both face the challenge of giving up some control to make their relationship work.

“Shhh…Kara. It will all be okay. I’ll take care of you.” Simon ran a hand down her silky black hair, knowing that he meant every word.

20130824-123503.jpg

“He strode out of the room, making his way down the hallway and into his bedroom, with the most precious thing in the world to him held safely in his arms.”

20130824-124407.jpg

“”I’ve been waiting for you forever,” he whispered to her in a husky voice. Somehow, he had known her from the moment he saw her. Not with his eyes, but with his heart.”

I was so wrapped up in J. S. Scott’s writing it took me less than a week to read all the books out in this series. I ended up purchasing the box set, which includes Mine For Tonight, Mine for Now, Mine Forever and Mine Completely. Found out that Simons brother, Sam story to find his happiness had been released. Could not pass it up! It was as great if not better than Simon story.

I am looking forward to the release of The Billionaire’s Salvation which will tell Max’s story who is not only a friend of Simon & Sam, but a business partner! Biting my nails till releases date September 8, 2013! Can’t hardly wait!

Stripped

Standard

There is so much to say about this book and about Jasinda Wilder. I have read every one of her books and continue to do so. Jasinda I have seen you grow and improve as an author, this book just proves it that much more. You have truly out done your self with Stripped!

20130820-072436.jpg

Stripped takes you on such an emotional ride. One minute you are wanting to kick the crap out of most of the people in Grey’s life and the next you’re wanting to pull more of the ones that lift her up in to her life. I loved the roller coaster ride of Grey’s and Dawson’s relationship. Her being so sheltered in life not able to make many of the mistakes that help us grow as kids in to adults. Grey makes you want to shelter her even more because of this, when you know it would cause her more pain in the end. Dawson has had a completely different up bring that has given him a whole different set of rules to grow and play by.

image

“You’re the best thing that ever happened to me, Dawson Kellor.” It’s the last lucid thought I can express. “You’ve got that backward, love.” He kisses me, and I want to kiss him back, but I’m going under. “I think we’re the best thing to happen to each other.” Excerpt From: Wilder, Jasinda. “Stripped.” iBooks. First Quilt

Standard

This was my very first quilt I ever did. I can remember walking past the material I used several time before I told my self just get the material and try it. So I had already ask a few question and found out what size to cut my squares and what size seam to sew the squares together at. I normally use a 1/2″  seam just to give me more space to work with, I know the true seam should be a 1/4 ” seam. I did do a few things wrong with my first quilt. One big mistake I made was that I quilted it or should say stitched in the ditch after I put the binding on.  I would be the one to do something like that.  Even with all the mistakes I made with the first one I would say it turned out to be a good-looking quilt.

My very first quilt that I ever made and Blaze had to get in the picture too!

I was really happy with the outcome of it. When I first started putting it together I didn’t think it was going to look as good as it end up coming out ! So One thing I have to say to anyone think of starting to quilt is try it you never know if you’ll enjoy it till you have tried!
