Excerpt

“And who do we have here?” she murmurs. Harris’ head snaps up and he twists his body around, his expressive gray eyes filled with confusion. Somehow, I speak up. “I’ve come to collect my things. I’m moving out.” “Edith.” The word comes out on a defeated exhale. With a beseeching gaze, Harris stands up and takes a halting step toward us, then pauses, shoving his hands into his jean pockets. “Good,” Claire says with a faux smile on her face. “But won’t you introduce us to your handsome friend?” My dad clears his throat. “I’m Ed’s father. We’ll be out of your way shortly.” He angles backward to look at me. “Go ahead,” he tells me like he wants me to leave the room. What could he possibly need to say to them? “Little mouse never told me the daddy that doesn’t love her is a hottie.” A rumbling noise escapes from Harris. “Claire!” he snaps. Did she really just say that? Now my anxiety is falling behind a very different, raw emotion—fury. “Look, Claire.” I release the suitcase in my hand and skirt around my father, moving closer to the couch. My eyes stay on her, ignoring everything else in the room. If I don’t focus on my resentment toward Claire, I might unwittingly reveal my broken heart. That’s not why I came here. “I can’t live with the lies and the games anymore. This place is unhealthy for me, and I’m not going to let you manipulate me anymore. I want to move out and move on. Could you just tell me what I owe you?” “Move out and move on.” Claire pulls a face as she mimics my words. “Ed,” my dad snaps, drawing my attention away from Claire. “Get started. I’ll handle the rest.” “Dad—” “Go.” His uses a razor-sharp tone, leaving no room for argument. With my marching orders, my eyes flicker to Harris. He clenches his fists, and wears a mask of thunder directed at his sister. Where was that anger yesterday?

Strings Of The Heart by Katie Ashley ~ Promo Blitz!!!

Standard
Title: Strings of the Heart
Author: Katie Ashley
Expected Release: May 12th
Twenty year old, Allison Slater has been in love with her brother’s bandmate, Rhys McGowan, since she was fifteen years old. But to him, she’ll always be Jake’s little sister and off limits. Now a college sophomore and licking her wounds from a bad breakup, she sets her sights on making Rhys see her as someone he could date…maybe even love. Her opportunity comes when Rhys visits his parents in Savannah where she is attending college. But the night she’s dreamed of turns to heart-break, and she realizes she’ll never be the one for Rhys.
For Rhys McGowan, his nightmare began when he woke up, naked and hung-over, next to his bandmate’s little sister. Unable to remember a thing from the previous night, he only makes matters worse by lying to Allison about not being interested in her. The truth is he’s spent the last year to ignore his body’s reaction whenever Allison is around. His resolve is tested when Allison comes on tour with Runaway Train, as both Jake and Abby’s nanny and to fulfill her fashion design internship. The more time he spends with her in the close quarters of the bus, the harder it is for him to resist.
Will Rhys realize that having a relationship with Allison is worth fighting for even if it means that he has to fight his best friend for a chance?
“Take a shot,” he commanded, his expression tense, his eyes unreadable.
Goosebumps pebbled my arms at his assertiveness. I wasn’t used to him being so forceful. For a moment, I couldn’t process his words. It was like the tone of the entire conversation had veered off course. Reluctantly, I followed his orders. When I started to reach for a lime, he stopped me. As I eyed him curiously, he took the shaker of salt in his hand. Tilting his head, he shook the bottle along his neck. Then he leaned over and brought the shaker to my neck. My chest rose and fell in harsh pants at the nearness of him. But most of all, it was the way the tension crackled in the air between us. Nothing really had been spoken out-loud, nothing had been done to change things, but in that moment, everything was different.
“Take a shot,” he repeated.
With trembling fingers, I reached for the glass. I took it in one hand and the lime in the other. Leaning forward on the stool, I dipped my head down to his neck. My lips hovered over the warmth of his skin. Flicking out my tongue, I brought it against the stubble on his neck. Rhys sucked in a harsh breath at the contact. Slowly, my tongue trailed upwards over the faint line of salt, eliciting a small groan from Rhys.
Once I finished, I pulled away. I didn’t dare look at Rhys—my skin burned just from the intensity of the stare I felt on me. Tipping up the glass, I downed it in one fiery gulp. As my eyes pinched shut in pain, I slammed the lime against my lips. My teeth cut through the fruit, as my mouth sucked off the juices. When I swallowed again, a shiver echoed through me.
I opened my eyes to find Rhys still staring at me. His dark eyes shone with an intensity that I would’ve given anything to know what he was thinking. He reached for his glass and lime. His eyes never left mine as he bent over. I tilted my head to give him better access. At the feel of his warm tongue on my neck, I shuddered, and I remained trembling even after he pulled away. He then downed the tequila without even bothering with the lime.
“Another?”
“Yes.”
We repeated the process again. And again. Until we had downed five shots and licked and sucked our way up each other’s necks. My skin still tingled from the feel of his tongue. Of course, my entire body was tingling from the strong alcohol pumping through every cell and molecule. It made me feel so alive. While it had just been his tongue on my neck, the feel of his hands as they brushed on my shoulders, whispered across my collarbone, had driven me crazy. I could only fantasize that his tongue was following the same path across my chest and down to my breasts.
More than anything in the world, I wanted this man, and tonight I was going to get my wish. From the lust-filled looks he been giving me, along with the groans of pleasure when I had licked his skin, I knew what was going to happen. I was finally going to have Rhys.

Learing to Fly By Misha Elliott ~ Promo & Review ~ 4 Star Review

Standard

Title: Learning to Fly
Author: Misha Elliott
Ronda'sreviewlbThis was a read that I don’t normally read. I could class it in the new adult romance, not a bad thing at all! I normally read contemporary romance which can get a little on the hotter side! I did at first have a had time pulling my self in to the story, to me it seemed like the opening of the book dragged on a little to long. Once I got in to the book I could not put it down. Misha did a wonderful job. She is going to have some wicked talent as she finds her self more and more as an author. Plus she won more over big time with the cliffhanger!!!! LOVED IT!!!
Sophia and Alex had very short time together but in that time they both felt that it was more than just some high school love, it was deeper then just that. Can they make it work and will it last to prove to everyone else that it was more than your typical high school first love! I love how strong Sophia is, most would break under the pressure she has dealt with all her life. Alex is the QB that had a love to the sport and then is forced to live the life that his dad made the mistake of not living.
This story is going to bring to a lot of emotions, you’re going to want to kill some of the people and then your going to fall in love with them. Misha did a great job and I’m looking forward to read Come Fly with Me!!!

Typical isn’t a word you would use to describe Sophia Ann Marshall’s life. Is she the parent? The daughter? The caretaker? Or the one who ruined it all? is there really a white knight that could come rescue her? Sophia’s not so sure anymore. When her mom’s latest breakup and firing causes them to move the summer before her senior year, Sophie is devastated.
Until she meets star QB, Alexander Matthews. Alex is the beginning of all the firsts Sophie has been dreaming of. Moving has turned her life and the life of her mom, around to exactly where she wanted it to be. Everything is great but will the price of happiness be too high? Can she really give up her dream? Why is life always filled with choices?
But he wants her to choose…Will she give him up to follow her dreams, or give up her dreams to follow him…

“One last bit of advice, a woman shouldn’t give up her dreams to follow a guy who isn’t willing to alter his dreams for her.”The pain you feel today is the strength you feel tomorrow

Ronda'sreviewlb

I was so excited to have the chance to get the ARC for Rare and Precious Things. This was a series that called to me and I always told my self I was going to read it, but never got around to reading. I read this whole series in a weeks time! If that does not tell you how good it is then you have to live under a rock!  Just Saying!
With the first books in this series there was so many  twist and turns at every corner. I really expect Rare and Precious Things to be alone the same lines. I was surprised! Not saying this one was with out the edge of your seat read, but it was a little more clam. With Rare and Precious things you are given more time with the make up of  Ethan and Brynne. You also get more a glimpse into Ethan’s pass. ( He become a little less mysterious).
Raine really pull at your heartstrings in this book. You are going to have a love hate relationship to some of the charters by the end! I love how she ended this series but I’m hoping she comes back at some point and we get to see more the Blackstone Affairs!
It just doesn’t get better if you Love a book that is going to pull at your emotions and takes you for a wild ride!

The fourth part in the New York Times bestselling series, The Blackstone Affair: A bright beginning for two damaged souls fighting for their hard-won love, and the promise of a new hope to secure their happily ever after.

Fresh from an idyllic honeymoon along the Italian coast, the Blackstones prepare for the birth of their precious baby and the challenges of settling into a new home. But things get complicated when specters from the past reappear to threaten the very foundation of their relationship. Ethan and Brynne will have to fight harder than ever for each other. Rare and Precious Things is the story of two people who both need the other in order to be complete, but learn just how “rare” their brand of love is when they have to risk everything in order to hold onto it.

“What are we doing on the beach?” I asked, as he led me along the cool sand under my bare feet.

“Having our date. Trust me, baby. This is something I have all planned out for us.”

“I bet you do. I am well aware that when you say date you really mean sex—”

My words were lost as we rounded a turn in the beach path and came out onto the shore. The waves lapped at the sand with the soothing sounds of water moving against earth. A sliver of moon glowed up over the water, but the real beauty was the many glass jars lit up with tea lights set out on the soft sand of the beach. What seemed like hundreds of them flickering away around a pallet of blankets and pillows. Off to one side, sat a bucket of iced drinks and what appeared to be little dessert cakes on a tray with some fresh fruit.

“It’s beautiful, Ethan.” I could hardly speak as I realized what he’d done. “How did you do…all of this?”

He led us onto the blankets and drew me down to sit beside him. “It was my idea,” he began, “but I needed some help to pull it off. Franco got it organized while we were at the party.”

I looked around behind us, imaging if the caretaker for our villa was lurking in the dark hoping for a glimpse.

“I know what you’re thinking, but you don’t have to worry, baby, Franco is not in the bushes watching, trust me.”

I laughed nervously. “Well, if Franco is in the bushes somewhere, I am predicting he’s gonna get one hell of a show.”

“Now that’s what I like to hear. My girl accepting the idea of a hot beach shag,” he whispered teasingly against my ear, his tongue flicking out for a lick along the shell. “You like my surprise.”

My body came instantly alive, needing him so badly. Ethan could get me hot with just the simplest look or touch. He reached up and worked on the messy knot holding up my hair and unpinned it. He was getting good at figuring out my hair. It made me smile to watch him as he found the pins and pulled them, knowing how he’d be fisting my hair in handfuls and using it to dominate when we were deep into the sex.

“You’re smiling,” he murmured as he worked over my hair.

“I just love to watch you doing simple things.”

My hair fell free. “This is not a simple thing to me,” he whispered, fingering through the tangled length with both hands. His gaze grew smoky as he focused on my lips. “It’s everything.”

Raine Miller has been reading romance novels since she picked up that first Barbara Cartland book at the tender age of thirteen. And it’s a safe bet she’ll never stop, because now she writes them too! Granted Raine’s stories are edgy enough to turn Ms. Cartland in her grave, but to her way of thinking, a hot, sexy hero never goes out of fashion. A part-time teacher and writer of sexy romance stories every other chance she gets pretty much fills her days. She has a handsome prince of a husband, and two brilliant sons to pull her back into the real world if the writing takes her too far away. Her sons know she likes to write stories, but gratefully have never asked to read any, thank God! Raine loves to hear from readers and to chat about the characters in her books.

Unfortunately, it’s the very world they live in that will tear them apart forever.
Get to know the history of the best friend who gave his all in the highly acclaimed Lost series.

I giggle as he wraps his arm around my waist and tries to turn me around back toward our apartment. I twist out of his arms and keep walking toward the car. Footsteps and muttered grumblings behind me tell me that he’s following me.

I step to the side, and Shay’s arm reaches out to open my door. “Thank you, kind sir,” I say sweetly as I curtsy.

“Ha fucking ha. You’re going to pay for this. All I can think about is laying you out on the hood and devouring you for dinner. You can’t expect me to hold a coherent conversation when you look like that.”

“Mission accomplished then?” I smirk at him through the windshield as he walks to the driver’s side and hops in.

“Is the movie a requirement of this date night, cause I’m sure we could make a movie of our own.” He waggles his eyebrows at me suggestively, and I burst out laughing. Nothing that comes out of my man’s mouth can surprise me now. It’s one of the many things I love about him.

He pulls out of the driveway and soon we’re on the expressway heading south toward the restaurant. He holds his right hand out to me and I grab it and put it in my lap, making sure to rub his hand up my bare thigh, earning a growl.

“Tease,” he grumbles.
