Synopsis

When Miss Man-Eater…
Raquel Adams is in desperate need of a media makeover. Her already floundering reputation is made worse by her recent antics, and she doesn’t seem to care. Raquel lives life on her own terms and doesn’t answer to anyone, least of all Clayton Cox, the guy charged with making her a media darling. His take charge attitude is a problem for strong-willed Raquel, but she can’t deny the attraction she feels toward him.

Meets America’s spin doctor…
Clayton Cox is the boss, and damn good at his job. He’s hired to improve your reputation and does so by swooping in, saving the day, and moving onto the next one. But he can’t move one from his newest client. Raquel is maddening, and gorgeous enough to make him forget his rule of never getting involved with a client. But Clayton can’t forget what happened the last time he mixed business with pleasure.

All’s fair in love and war.
Raquel wants Clayton, and nothing is going to stand in her way, not even Clayton himself. He doesn’t know what hit him, and soon finds himself juggling between having to improve her reputation and feign off her advances. But Clayton’s determined to show Raquel who’s in charge at any cost, even if that means thwarting her seduction efforts. Will Miss Man-Eater change or ways? Or will Clayton become the latest victim entangled in her web?

ME Teaser 2

Excerpt

“But that’s just the latest thing, the tip of the iceberg you’ve been creating for years. Shall we go through some of the other stuff?” Clayton clearly didn’t expect her to answer, because he picked up the magazines he’d brought from the desk and put them down in front of her. It was bad, but Raquel refused to hide despite how much she wanted to cringe. Rumors of hard partying, cocaine use—even though she had never used it—infidelity, orgies, stripping. And that was just the rumors. As a finale he had a list of the names she had acquired—bitch, whore, slut, jezebel, home wrecker, and her moniker, Man-Eater.

This is embarrassing, Raquel thought, seeing everything in black and white. It was something she hadn’t thought about; hell, half the time she cultivated it, but now she was left with regret. David was the final straw. He took her already fragile reputation and pummeled it to the ground. And what was his response when she asked him about it? “I just wanted a piece of the Man-Eater, but you didn’t even put out. Hope it was worth it.”

“That’s not all true,” she said. Great, Raquel, way to sound like an intelligent, self-assured woman.

He shook his head, looking at her as if she was crazy. “No one cares. I don’t know how many times I have to tell you that, but you need to get it through your thick skull. Your reputation is in the trash, and your job is on the rocks. You need me, which is why you called me. Because I am the best, and the only one who can repair your current reputation. You may not want to need me, but you do.”

Raquel reached for the pitcher full of water in the middle of the table, pouring a glass and taking a long drink, wishing it was tequila, while she composed herself. “What happens now?”

He raised his eyebrows, acknowledging that she ignored his statement. That was the best he was going to get from her, so he just needed to chill. “Right now? You are going to go the hell home and stay there. Don’t go out, because I can’t trust you to go anywhere. Even your local family restaurant isn’t safe when you’re around. Read over the contract,” he passed her a manila envelope that contained a bunch of paperwork, “carefully, because you are basically signing yourself over to me for the next six months. If you agree to the terms, then let me know and I will tell you where we go from here.”

She opened the folder, noticing how thick the contract was. “What is your strategy?”

“I’m not telling you before you agree. If you want it, you’ll sign it. And if, God forbid, anything else comes up, call me immediately.”

Amazingly written!

When the car pulled up to my building, Travis helped me out and followed me in and up to my third floor apartment. At the door, I extricated my keys from my purse and turned to face him. His eyes blazed as he looked down on me, making my palms sweat and my heart race in anticipation of our first official kiss.

When his head dipped, my breath caught. When his mouth touched mine, I instantly opened for him. When his tongue swept inside, I completely lost myself to the feel of it brushing mine as he explored me in the most sensual kiss I had ever had.

His hands came up to frame my face. His head tilted and he deepened the kiss. My toes curled as heat swept through my body with a blinding fierceness.

He broke the kiss far too soon and rested his forehead on mine. “Who knew a kiss could feel like this?”

“I know,” I whispered. My eyes finally opening to take in his gorgeous face so close to mine.

“Let me stay tonight, Maya.”

The idea was oh so intriguing, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. We barely knew each other, and I didn’t want to move too fast.

“Let’s take it slow, Travis,” I whispered, afraid he would get mad and that would be the end of what promised to be something completely amazing.

“No longer the happiest man in the city, Maya,” he informed me and my stomach dipped at the rough and raspy sound of his voice. “Happiest man in the world.”

“Trav—”

“Goodnight, sweetheart. I’ll call you tomorrow.” He kissed my forehead and took a step back.

“Goodnight, Travis.”

I opened my door and turned back to look at him in front of the stairwell. He had the most endearing expression on his face, and I was pretty sure I fell in love with him right then.

Synopsis

Sexy Australian billionaire Grant Devlin is ruining my life. He exercises

shirtless in his office, is notorious for his lunchtime nooners, he even yawns sexily. If I didn’t need this

job so bad, I’d take his black Amex and tell him where to swipe it.

He doesn’t even know I exist, but why would he? He jets off to Paris with

supermodels, I spend Friday nights with Netflix and a chunk of Pepperidge Farm frozen cake—waiting

for his call. Because every time he crashes his yacht, or blows $500k on a single roulette spin in Monte

Carlo, I’m the PR girl who has to clean up his mess.

But this time, it’s going to take more than just a fat charity donation. This

time, the whole company is on the line. He needs to show investors that he’s settling down, and Step #1

is pretending to date a nice, stable girl until people forget about what happened with the Playboy

Bunnies backstage at the Oscars.

My plan is perfect, except for one thing:

He picks me.

Excerpt

You might think I’m exaggerating his attractiveness. I’m not. Picture a

handsome man. No, more handsome than that. Square that jawline, brush those brown curls with gold,

darken those blue eyes till they’re almost black, deep sapphire pools made for mooning over. Deepen

that voice till it’s like dark chocolate, and thread it through with a  sexy chameleon accent—one second

so crisp and upper class it might almost be British, the second relaxing into long lazy vowels that

conjured up visions of him kicking back beers on a sunny Australian beach, surfboard planted in the sand

as he contemplated the rolling waves with a practiced eye. Strip away any hint of fat over that lean,

muscular sailor’s physique; evenly tan his smooth skin until he’s a bronzed Adonis.

For intrigue, add just a few scars on his powerful arms—sometimes a

wide-eyed young intern might ask where he got them, and he’d flex his arms and tell a completely

different story than he had the last time, each more improbable than the last. And whether it featured

great white sharks, modern-day pirates, or a knife-throwing bet, that wide-eyed intern would swoon

right into those arms, disappear at the end of the day into his limo, and moon around the office for a

couple of weeks, constantly checking their phones for texts that never came, until they quit or until

security had to boot them from the building for trying to ambush him outside of his office with pleading

love notes and recriminations.

But I’ve gotten off-topic. Back to your mental picture of a handsome

man. Now picture that an entire team of crack tailors working night and day to create the perfect suit,

cut to hang just right on his body, tight across shoulders you could build a house on and an ass that

belonged in an underwear commercial. Imagine the world’s greatest stylists converging upon him with

mousse and hairdryers until not a hair was out of place except the ones he intended to be,

each chestnut lock artfully tousled for maximum effect.

And then he smirks.

Now freeze that perfect, sexy, infuriating bastard at that exact moment

in time so that nothing ever musses him or ruffles his feathers or causes a single blip on the horizon of

his life, and you’ve got Grant Devlin.

TITLE: IN THIS LIFE

AUTHOR: CHRISTINE BRAE
RELEASE DATE: FEB 01, 2015
SYNOPSIS
Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000035_00030]

“Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere,

They’re in each other all along.”
Rumi
They say that life is full of choices. When you’re young and idealistic, you believe that the path you choose is the road that will lead you to your destiny.
But what if, along the way, fate decides to step in, and no amount of logic or rationality or even prayers can save you from your fortune? When the sacrifices you make, the love that you find, and the bright promise of the future are all snatched away from you, you’re left alone to pick up the pieces of your life.
This is a story about love, found in a faraway place by two very unlikely people. It is also a story about friendship and loyalty and fighting for what you have despite the illogical mystery of fate. It is a story of faith and acceptance, and learning that even the best-laid plans are powerless against the alignment of the universe.
From the beaches of Thailand to the streets of New York, three friends, Anna, Dante, and Jude will learn the hard way that once providence steps in, there is nothing in the world that can change what is truly meant to be.

EXCERPT
I lifted my head up in time to catch the questioning look in his eyes. “I have to call my mother.” I said.
“Sure, let’s get back to the hut and you can use my phone,” he replied, continuing to hold me close while smoothing his hands over my hair.
“Gray?”
“Hmm?” he answered dreamily.
“I’m a little freaked out. There’s something rubbing against my leg.”
He lifted me up gently, turned the flashlight back on, and handed it over to me. I settled my feet lightly on the sand, afraid to step on something I couldn’t see. He guided my hand and held the light a few inches above the water.
“Look closely,” he said excitedly. “They’re seahorses.” He reached his hands downwards just below the surface, enclosing them in the palms of his hands.
“Cool! Why are they tangled up in each other like that?”
“It’s their defense mechanism. Do you see how the male with the pouch is hanging on to her tail? He’s protecting her.”
I brought my face closer to the water. “Won’t they bite you?”
He laughed and shook his head. “No, they won’t. They’re harmless.” We continued to observe them in the water. “Hey, do you know what they say about seahorses?” Judeasked.
“No, but I know you’re about to tell me,” I teased, never tiring of engaging him in banter.
“That they mate for life. One mate. One partner. For life.” Jude enunciated his words, making sure to get his point across.
“That’s just a myth. Nothing, no one, mates for life.”
