Except with her

She’s far from where she’s supposed to be.

Tracie is so damned determined to be with someone who isn’t “one of us.”

Delusional.

That’s what she is.

Downright insane at times.

Those idiots can’t handle her.

Will never be able to handle her.

And I’m about to show her why.

And she’ll finally understand.

Because this life ain’t for everyone,

Especially when danger lurks in the shadows of all the

Synopsis

Ben

Those gold eyes were the first thing I noticed. I wanted more than anything to get lost in them, drown in her, to let go of my fears and doubts my past had left behind.
But it wasn’t just me I had to consider.
My son came first.
She’s a force to be reckoned with, though. She was everywhere, in my dreams even, tempting me to throw caution to the wind.
And I was weak.
I gave into my clawing desire and let myself enjoy one night with her, having no clue she’d change me forever.
Once wasn’t enough. I became addicted. I craved her – her scent, her skin, her smile, her eyes…her love.
I need Samantha.

Samantha

My life was uncomplicated. It was free and easy.
Then I met him, the man with the blue-violet eyes that entranced me.
I had a feeling I was making a big mistake when agreeing to one night of carnal bliss, but I was unable to walk away. I just couldn’t have foreseen how big of one it was.
He turned my world upside-down, working his way into my heart until it beat only for him. Now everything is complex, and there are secrets he’s not telling me.
Will he ever let me in?
Time would tell, but one thing is sure – I’d walk through hell and back, feel the blistering lick of each flame against my flesh, for just the promise of Ben.

Not intended for anyone under the age of eighteen due to language and sexual content.

Note from the author:
Fated Bliss is the second book in The Bliss Series, and though it is recommended to read Finding Bliss first, it’s not needed. Fated Bliss is a standalone novel with an HEA.

Excerpt

Without a word, Ben placed a hand in the center of my chest and pushed me backward. I cried out in surprise, almost falling over my feet.

But I didn’t have to worry.

As Ben followed me inside, he encircled my waist and hauled me against his strong body.

My belly dipped and heated into a slow kindling.

Guess we’re skipping to dessert.

Ben kicked the door shut as his head descended. I heard plastic bags rustling and something drop onto my foyer table.

Meeting him halfway, I stood on my tiptoes and wrapped my arms around his neck. His presence, his scent infusing the air, everything about Ben being in my home did something to me, something incredible.

Our lips crashed together in total abandon. Using his tongue, he pried my lips apart, searching, exploring, and fisted my hair. My back collided with the wall, pinning me to Ben’s control as he kissed me. It was wicked and wet and unrestrained.

Hot.

My head was swimming, my skin tingling, when he tore his mouth from mine.

Mega hot.

Dazed, I stared into his brilliant eyes, trying to gain control over myself. He’s a drug, I decided right then and there. One taste and I was euphoric, swept away on a wild ride.

“I’ve waited days to do that,” Ben murmured and scattered kisses along my jaw to my ear. “You’re stunning tonight.”

I had no idea what he was talking about. Because I knew we’d be doing something along these lines as soon as we saw one another, I wore blue jean shorts and a little tank top, nothing special.

Still, I’d take the compliment.

“Thanks,” I rasped and combed my fingers through his hair, tilting my head. “You’re not so bad yourself.”

Ben’s mouth found mine again. “I missed you,” he expressed between kisses.

Biting his lip, I teased, “You saw me two days ago.”

“Not enough,” he rumbled and sucked my tongue into his mouth.

Knees weak, I melded to him, letting him own me. He could do whatever he wanted to me as long as he kissed me like this.

“Bedroom. Now,” Ben demanded.

As a naïve young woman, Marité Muro nearly drowned in a maelstrom of confusing emotions stirred by two very different men. One whose tortured soul tugged at her heart, another whose scorching touch made her innocent body want…more.

Vietnam left scars on Brian MacKay, some visible, some invisible—and infinitely more dangerous. His war buddy’s sister-in-law has ripened into a tempting, irresistible woman, but she is forbidden fruit. Yet she challenges his resolve until, in a moment of weakness, his demons slip free.

EXCERPT:
December 1969
You’re late…you’re late. Where the heck are you? Out of the corner of her eye, Marité Muro scanned the hallway of the chapel. To her mounting frustration, several attendees standing next to a column blocked her view. She could stare forever and accomplish nothing. Neither the people nor the column would move out of her way. Reality does stink. She didn’t have X-ray vision or mental superpowers like the superheroes in her favorite comics and fantasy novels. Her human anatomy had its limitations, and just to reinforce that concept, a painful stab attacked her temples as a multitude of sparks filled her vision. Half-blind, she tangled the tip of her elegant new shoe with the footed base of a nearby massive candleholder, and she nearly flew forward. Mumbling a curse that would’ve shocked her mother, Marité froze in place, waiting for her vision to clear.
Thanks to the futile search, she’d almost made a fool of herself in front of everyone and, worse, had missed key aspects of a ritual she didn’t know well. She should be following the ceremony. Any minute, the spotlight and all eyes would be on her, which meant ignoring the stupid voice that wouldn’t stop nagging in her mind. The incessant taunts had begun as soon as she took her place by the baptismal font: Go ahead. Turn around. Check the crowd, silly girl. How else will you know? Well, screw the voice. She had an important role and should appear focused on the celebration—same as Brian, her partner in the ceremony—or at least pretend.
Still, she couldn’t stop thinking of Michael. Why aren’t you here?
How about a little peek? the voice insisted. Shifting her gaze to the left hallway, she tried again, seeking a body, a shadow, some movement, anything that might indicate her cousin’s arrival. Nope. Nothing. Zip.
You’re going to ruin it if you don’t show up. How could he miss the triple christening when it meant so much to everyone? The entire family had flown in from the Old Country, not to mention friends from all over. Forget the relatives, she had dreamed about this occasion for weeks, had bought this pink chiffon dress and complementary shoes, hoping to regain his attention. She wanted him to see her among adults, doing adult things like a young lady. Maybe then she’d impress the indifference out of him and the uncomfortable disaffection would end. Not so long ago, he would’ve insisted on driving her. He would’ve been full of advice on the ride over. He used to be so protective and supportive, so affectionate, but lately—
The clinking sound of the swaying censer and Father O’Leary’s voice grew louder. He’d moved from infant to infant, performing the sacramental rite: dabbing bits of salt in their mouths, sprinkling the tiny foreheads with holy water, and lastly anointing them with chrism. And now it was Rebecca’s turn, the gorgeous child cradled in her arms. Marité glanced at the beaming parents standing off to her right, Raquel and Matthew Buchanan, her sister and brother-in-law. Dismissing her earlier preoccupation, Marité sent a silent prayer on their behalf for a life full of well-deserved happinessThey’d struggled enough.
Father O’Leary recited the questions to the godparents, and Marité answered in unrehearsed unison with Brian. The sound of his deep voice, full of emotion and self-assured, rang in her ears as spirals of thick church incense wafted around her with its heady scent. A dreamy feeling overcame Marité. Each I do response seemed to roll out of Brian’s lips in slow motion. The words echoed throughout the room, then ricocheted inside her mind in giant swells. A sense of déjà vu transported her to a distant time in a faraway chamber, richly ornate and full of golden lights, nowhere she knew or had seen before… The experience didn’t last; it ended with the last question but left her shivering. She looked Brian’s way.
“Brian?”
He leaned forward. “Lil’ godmother?”
“Forget it. It’s nothing,” she said quickly. Whatever she’d seen, Brian obviously had not. No point in pursuing it further.
Brian MacKay, Matthew’s best friend and ex-war buddy, was the happiest person she’d ever known in all of her fifteen years. His smile could brighten the gloomiest day. In these days of the Vietnam War, men who survived the jungle came home either physically damaged or with broken spirits, sometimes both. Not Brian. His cheerful disposition had carried him through exhausting physical therapy sessions—she’d heard Raquel and Matthew talk—and conquered his wounds. She watched in awed respect as he moved or walked about, displaying his faltering step like a badge of honor and the ever-present cane like a scepter.
Despite the seven-year gap between them, Brian didn’t condescend to her. He treated her as an equal, and she liked that quality best. When she learned Brian had agreed to become Rebecca’s godfather, she’d been overjoyed and honored. The sacrament would not only bind them to the child but to each other, as compadres in a very special lifelong relationship, almost like parents. Her thoughts pivoted to her absent cousin…and yep, she was back to where she’d started.
“What is it?” Brian nudged her arm. “That frown’s ruining your purdy face.”
Marité knew he’d tried to keep his voice down but was also certain folks in the last row heard him. “Shhh,” she whispered, and, suppressing a rising giggle, she bumped him with her shoulder.
Brian jerked up to his full height, snapping two fingers in mock salute. “Yes, ma’am.”
Rebecca must have found their exchange entertaining, because she decided to join the fun. Her rosebud lips puckered, releasing a loud half-raspberry, half-spit bubble.
“Not very ladylike,” Marité murmured. Brian snickered, and the priest shot them both a warning glare.
Her sister, Raquel, heard the sound and flicked a signal to Matthew. As a lighted taper was presented to Marité and Brian, Matthew retrieved Rebecca in exchange, rescuing everyone from the priest’s displeasure. With little Rebecca’s explorations in sound effects successfully silenced, Father O’Leary nodded, and the baptism proceeded in its ordered sequence.
Boom! The sound of a kneeler dropped carelessly on the floor reverberated throughout the chapel like a discharged cannon. Marité tossed poise out the window and turned, peering above and beyond the curious guests to the source of the commotion.
You know how to make an entrance, don’t you?
With hands pressed against the last pew, Michael leaned forward. His shoulder-length hair, falling in the direction of his hands, concealed his features. On her next breath, Marité evaluated the situation in the room: a pale Aunt Coralina directed a wife-to-husband plea for serenity to Uncle Jonas, whose gaze emitted ice-blue fury toward his irreverent son.
An unexpected censuring scoff out of Brian startled her, and Marité pivoted, beginning to feel like a spinning top. The frown of disapproval was a rare departure from Brian’s affable countenance. Confounded by it all, Marité flipped back around just as Michael looked up, tossed back his leonine mane in obvious defiance, and smirked. Ignoring everyone present, he glared at her. A chill ran down Marité’s spine…

Colt has dark, deeply buried secrets that keep his smile hidden and his eyes down, which has kept people away . . . until he meets Verity, who seems immune to his gruff manners and taciturn ways. We’ve changed. Darker, damaged and unable to conform. My husband Joshua is dealing with the past the best that he can…..as am I.

Nobody else can understand the language we speak. The trauma we have been through.

But with the pain comes pleasure and happiness is our gift.

Stanton bliss teaser 3

Excerpt #1

From my bed, I hear the front door open downstairs, the car keys hit the foyer table with force, then I listen as he takes the stairs two at a time. I feel a rush of excitement sweep through me.

My man is home.

Once upon a time, he trained to fight. Now his fight is daily. Mentally battling his demons and physically battling competitors at 6:00 a.m. every morning, I feel sorry for the poor bastards he fights. They don’t stand a chance. He’s changed. He’s darker, damaged and unwilling to conform. Joshua Stanton is dealing with the last six months the best that he can… as am I.

We have each other, we get it, nobody else can understand the language we speak or the pain we have been through. I lie still, trying to recover from our night, and yet he has been up and to the gym. I know why he does it; he’s trying to control the anger at what we have been through. He’s still furious, furious at himself for letting it happen, furious at Amelie for doing what she did, and furious at the press for feeding on our nightmare. He turns the corner into our room and his dark eyes drop to my naked body on the bed. He’s wet with perspiration and there’s a tangible force, a feeling of adrenaline pumping through his body out onto me where I lie. His t-shirt comes slowly over his head, and he drops his pants to reveal that beautiful rock hard body.

“How was your fight?” I whisper as my eyes lower to my name on his side.

He smiles sexily as he walks around the side of the bed, surveying me. He doesn’t answer as his hand drops to between his legs and he gives himself three slow hard strokes. My breath catches. He hasn’t said a word or touched me and yet, as always, just the sight of him makes me good to go. “You look exceptional, Mrs. Stanton,” he whispers as his hand continues to stroke his cock.

I hold my breath and open my legs just that little bit farther. Joshua cracks his neck hard as his dark eyes stay fixed between my legs.

His tongue slides over his bottom lip before he drops his head and begins to lick my inner thigh.

“Give me my breakfast. I’m fucking starving.”

I lay back and close my eyes. Mr. Stanton is here, like he is most mornings when he returns from fighting. The adrenaline in his system is through the roof and I’m the lucky girl he releases it on. Our sex is rougher and less controlled than it has ever been, but it’s also never been so hot. I’m putty in his dominant hands.

I crave his control over my body. I crave the way he takes what he needs without a care in the world.

His strong hands hold my legs apart and his hot tongue swipes through my flesh.

“Hmm,” he groans into me.
My hands fall to the back of his head.
“Oh, you fucking taste good, my beautiful girl,” he whispers.
I shudder immediately and close my eyes. If I watch him do that, I will come in five seconds flat.
He starts to really eat me, dragging my body up and down his face. His sharp whiskers are grinding but it’s a pleasurable burn, a pain I have become accustomed to, the pain is my addiction.

WeSAY AIDEEN Teaser 2

Blurb:
What happens when you’re attracted to the wrong person?

AIDEEN

I didn’t expect to feel so drawn to my best friend’s father when I first meet him.
It’s unexplainable and most of all, it’s unexpected. He drinks too much, is rough around the edges, and is so obviously into casual sex and nothing more, but there’s just something about him that calls out to me.
I’ve thought my heart was battered beyond repair, but maybe I have been wrong.

“There was something so sexual, so carnal, so intense in the way Jensen looked at me.’’

JENSEN

She is my son’s best friend and I know he wants more, but I can’t help it. Whenever she is around or her name is mentioned I’m turned on. I’m not used to denying myself to feeling so strongly for a woman so young, but she gets me.
I can’t do a damn thing to stop these feelings.
No amount of alcohol helps.
I didn’t think it could be possible to feel so drawn to a woman, but it looks like I have been dead wrong.

“I want her to want me just as madly as I do her.’’

They shouldn’t and yet…
They can’t resist each other.

Excerpt:
“I’m the worst fucker, right? I’m going after the girl my son has feelings for. I actually fucked the girl he’s after. Tell me I’m not bad news now.’’

I cringe, but even then I don’t feel it. I’m supposed to be angry on Hal’s behalf, to be disgusted that a man could go behind his son’s back like this, but I’m not. I want to forget everything and Jensen can do it. I want to be wanted, so wanted that all control has gone out the window and I’ve only known this with Jensen. It’s only Jensen always on my mind, even more than Yann these days. It’s Jensen I crave in a way I’m still unfamiliar with.

“I’m just as bad, then. I only found out today and I still want you.’’

He stops breathing before he lets out a long relieved sigh. “You don’t want to be with him?’’
I shake my head. “Not at all.’’

He comes back to me and forces me to walk backward as he takes a hold of both my hands and locks my wrists behind my back. He’s crowding me and I’m letting him lead. “Do you have any idea how crazy you make me?’’ He backs me against his bike, my ass pushing against the slick machine as he tugs on my wrists behind my back until I lower my back slightly. “Do you know how dangerous it is for me to feel this way? I’m losing it with you, beautiful. I’m lost on the very edge of the cliff now and at any time I’m going to fucking jump. You better be ready to jump with me and fall,’’ he growls out before he releases my wrists to grab my hips and bring me on the bike, my legs wide open, my back to the handle bars. He throws his long leg over the saddle and faces me before he grabs me again and sits me over him until I feel his thick erection against the apex of my thighs, pushing against my aching core.

I lose all train of thought. I can’t process his words, the way his eyes seem desperate for me. All that’s on my mind is the way his hands feel on me, the way he’s already so hard, so ready for me. All I want is him inside me. Now. On his bike.

“Jensen,’’ I say in a sigh as we lock our mouths in a deep kiss that shakes me whole.

I grip his head, my fingers weaving through his short hair as his tongue battles with mine in a delicious war that sends my blood into overdrive. I move against him, pushing just enough to feel his cock rub over my clit through our jeans.

“I want to hear you scream my name until you’re hoarse, beautiful, and you’re going to,’’ he says in my mouth as he unzips my jacket and takes it off me, sending it to the dirty ground full of dead leaves, dry sticks of wood, grass, and moss.

Change of Heart
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Published: 11.06.15

Change Of HeartCasey Evans and Decker Abrams have been best friends since they became neighbors at the age of six. After high school, Casey abruptly leaves their hometown of Charleston, South Carolina for the west coast, leaving Decker wondering where she went and why she left.

Three years later the two are reunited, both harboring some old resentment towards the other. Not to mention, Casey has been hiding a pretty big secret from Decker all those years. Not willing to risk losing Casey again, Decker follows her back to California in an attempt to save their friendship.

Will Casey and Decker work out their issues and be best friends again? Or will they finally become something more?

EXCERPT

“Have your kissed anyone, Casey?” Decker asked after we spread out the blanket and sat down cross-legged at the end of the dock.

I laughed. “No, Deck. Guys don’t want to kiss me.”

“That’s not true,” he said.

“Then how come I’m seventeen and I’ve never been kissed?”

He looked down at his hands, fidgeting in his lap.

“Decker?” I asked sternly. What did he do?

“I may have threatened a few of the guys on the team.”

“What?! Why? How?” I couldn’t believe he did that . No wonder guys never talked to me, let alone kissed me. I knew I was plain and all, but still. There’s someone for everyone, right? All those guys that talked to me and he chased away …

“None of those guys are good enough for you.”

“Shouldn’t that be for me to decide?” I cross my arms over my chest, downright pissed off now.
Change Of Heart T2How dare he?

“I’m sorry, Case.”

“Hmmf.” I stared off into the water, ignoring him.

Decker sighed. “You know what? I’m not sorry. I don’t want you kissing other guys and that’s that.”

My eyes snapped back to his. “Excuse me?”

“You heard me,” he said, looking down at his hands again.

“Yeah, I heard you. That’s a bunch of crap, Decker. You can’t just run interference all my life.” If I was sitting, I would have stomped my feet.

“Wanna bet?”

I rolled my eyes. Arguing with him with useless. He was the most stubborn person I knew, next to myself of course.

“Whatever, Decker.”

He sighed again. “I want to be your first kiss,” he whispered, so quietly I barely heard him.

“What did you just say?”

He looked up at me. “I said I want to be your first kiss.”

“What? Why? Decker?” I didn’t know what to say. Where was this coming from? Decker wants to kiss me? Why?

“Because when I think back to my first kiss, I want it to be a happy memory. And Casey, all my memories with you are happy ones.”

I felt tears well up in my eyes. Well, if that wasn’t the sweetest thing Decker Abrams had ever said to me. And I’d be his first kiss, too? Gorgeous Decker Abrams has never kissed a girl?

He groaned at the tears. “Don’t cry, Case.”

“Happy tears, Deck. Happy tears,” I smiled at him.

He grinned that boyish grin I loved so much that always got him out of trouble … with me and every other female in his life.

“So you’ve really never kissed a girl before?” I still found that hard to believe, but Decker had never lied to me before.
Change Of Heart t1He shook his head. “No. I wanted it to be special, you know?”

I nodded, “Yeah, I know.”

“So can I?” he asked, scooting closer to me on the blanket.

“Can you what?” He moved even closer.

“Kiss you?” I could feel his breath on my face, he was so close.

“Please,” I whispered, closing my eyes.

His lips brushed mine and I felt tingles all over my body. His lips were so soft, yet so firm. Suddenly his tongue was pressed against the seam of my lips. It was such a strange sensation. I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do, but I wanted to taste him, too.

I opened my mouth and our tongues danced against one another. Touching and twisting, each sampling what the other had to offer. He finally put his arms around me and pulled me close to him. The kiss was amazing and seemingly never-ending, despite the awkward position we were twisted into. He eventually ended it with three short pecks on my lips.

As he pulled away we both opened our eyes. He smiled, so did I.

“Wow,” I said.

“Wow,” he agreed.

“Can we do that again?” I asked.

“Definitely,” he wasted no time, leaning in again.

Decker and I made out under the stars for hours that night. Never letting the other get too far away.

It was the start of something beautiful.

But it was also the beginning of the end.

Right Place Right Time

Kate Dumont is an achiever, completely focused on her future. Playing the role of brilliant pre-med student doesn’t leave her much time for anything else. But is she working towards the future she wants, or the future her elitist parents have planned out for her?

Jay Spencer grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. He’s made some mistakes, and one in particular will follow him around for the rest of his life. He spends most of his days keeping himself out of trouble by following his passion, riding and repairing motorcycles.

Two lost souls met on the side of a South Carolina highway three years ago, neither one knowing what the other would eventually mean to them. Reunited in California, Kate and Jay feel a pull towards one another they cannot explain.

Will they help each other bring out the best in themselves? Or are their lives too different to even have a chance?

EXCERPT

“Stupid, no good, piece of crap!” I wince as my sandaled foot comes into contact with the unforgiving tire of my hand-me-down Mercedes convertible. My scowl turns into a frown when I pull my foot back and see the black smudge across the white straps. This day just keeps getting worse!

I tip my head back, look up to the clouds, and pray for cell signal. When that doesn’t work, I bargain. My first born … my soul … good behavior … even better grades …

No such luck.

I’m on a quiet stretch of the interstate, between Columbia and Greenville, where there have been too few passerby, not one of them kind enough to pull over and help the damsel in distress. And boy do I look the part of a damsel in distress in a white sundress and sandals with long, dark blonde hair and big, doe-like brown eyes – the picture of innocence.

If it weren’t for the hot midday sun beating down on my shoulders, I’d probably be terrified. This whole situation has a classic serial killer vibe to it, add in darkness and I would not be standing outside my vehicle right now.

I lean back against the hot car and sigh. What a day. I drove all the way to Greenville to volunteer at a community clinic’s event, just to be informed upon arrival that the event had been rescheduled. They’d posted a notice at the site, which is really helpful when you’re one hundred miles away. I frown at my dirty sandal.

Stupid car. Yes, it’s a Mercedes, but no, it’s not brand new. It’s a 1995 model passed down from my father. It has seen many, many better days in its lifetime. My dad has always taken very good care of his cars, hence the reason this fifteen-plus-year-old car is now mine. My parents may be mostly absent from my life, but my dad wouldn’t have given me a beater for a car.

Truth is, I probably missed an oil change or something. Whatever. I don’t know anything about cars. Ask me to recite all the bones in the human body and I’ll do it. Ask me to name one part of a car and you’ll get crickets. I’m practically a genius, according to my latest IQ score administered by the director of the “gifted program” at my high school, so I’m sure the mechanics of a car wouldn’t be too difficult for me to figure out and understand, but this is one of those instances where I’d rather succumb to the gender stereotypes and just play the clueless female role. There’s enough information floating around in my brain without my choosing to add more, though part of me kind of wishes I at least knew how to pop my hood right about now.

Hearing the sound of a vehicle approaching behind me, I spin around to look. Smiling widely, I’m suddenly grateful for my vehicular ignorance and damsel in distress appearance. It’s an older sedan, maybe not as old as my hand-me-down, but it doesn’t appear to be well kept. I can just make out that the driver is male through the dirty windshield.

Jeez. I hope he’s not a serial killer or something? Seriously, Kate? You did not think this through at all.

I open my car door and busy myself looking for something that could be a potential weapon should this turn into Wrong Turn. Empty water bottle, a stack of flyers for another volunteer project I’m working on, a weathered copy of Gone with the Wind … I eye the book. It’s a hardback, it might be my best bet.

I hear a throat clear and pop my head up, narrowly missing bumping it on the roof of my car. I can only see his face over the roof of the car as he’s standing on the passenger side, lower in the soft shoulder of the highway. My five foot two inch height doesn’t help matters either. But wow, if his face is anything to go by, his body must be amazing. He has the most intense gray eyes, almost silver. His nose looks slightly crooked, like it’s been broken once or twice, and he has a strong, squared jaw with subtle stubble. His hair is buzzed very short so I can’t quite tell the color but it looks dirty blond, and he’s hot – er – sweaty. Yeah, sweaty. His brow is glistening with it.

He’s all man and seventeen year old self doesn’t quite know what to do with the attraction I feel. I have never felt so nervous around a guy before. Ever. I simply don’t have time for this sort of thing. Not with my AP classes, studying, extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and college applications.

“Hey,” I smoothly call out to him, if I do say so myself.

The corner of his mouth lifts in a slight smirk and butterflies take flight in my tummy. He doesn’t move to come around to my side of the car, which is just find by me. If he were closer, he’d see the slight trembling of my hands and he might actually hear the swarm of butterflies.

“Know anything about cars?”
