Loved Loved Loved this book. I will say that at the beginning I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy this one that said it would have been a first for one of Addison books.  I felt that it just didn’t grab me like I’m use to from her writing.  It seems a little slow in getting to the heart of the story for me. Once you get into this book it will not let you go. Wow I could not believe how much I wanted to lock myself in a room where no one could get to bother me.

The love of this family and the drive is what you want to see in every family. They come together and fight together as a whole.  Jack just wanting to keep his kids from any hurt, but yet trying to move on with life. Tristan very strong and will not back down. I could go and on. You’re going to fall in love with so many of them in this book and then when Addison wants you to dislike someone you’re really going to dislike them, I would even say hate them.

There are so many emotions to deal with. This is not your fall in love and everything comes together. No this is Addison pull your heart out and pieces it back together the way she wants you to see it kind of book!

Amy pic

I am Amy Lynn Garcia, daughter, sister, cousin, mother, nurse, grandma…no..no…call me Mimi I’m too young to be a grandma, writer and friend. We are all something to someone, and I love all the hats I wear in my life. I was born in 1969 which is where I lay blame to my compulsion to write erotica and romance, wink. That makes me…uh…yea 45, no way really? My mind is still very young but not naïve I’ve seen a lot and experienced more, you may think I don’t know what’s going on but be assured this Mama knows what’s up! I enjoy creating characters that have something people can relate to, who are real, addictive and intriguing. Love has always been a desire just out of my reach, as it is for many people. I believe that is what draws me into stories with superb happily ever afters. I want to connect with people on that level, let them know they aren’t alone, that love can triumph over all, we all long for that special one that takes our breath away.

My Biography simply put is this, I am a mother of 5 daughters, born and raised in Iowa, and no I don’t see farm animals on a daily basis, just at the state fair once a year. I live in the suburbs, just a mom trying to make it and support her children. Divorced once, and another long term relationship failed as well. I feel that qualifies me to write about relationship pain and disappointment. I worked a million retail jobs, was a receptionist in many hair salons, and attended college off and on for years before I finally settled down and went to college to become a nurse. Doing things the hard way is my specialty, point proven, I waited until I had 5 young daughters, one only 6 weeks old to go back to college. I received a degree in nursing and graduated from Mercy College of Health Sciences. I specialize in antepartum nursing or as I like to call it “The Anti-Birthing Unit” where we keep premature babies in utero as long as possible. I’ve always had a calling to help people, even at the age of 5 I created hospitals in my basement and gave my baby dolls shots in the butt. As much as nursing is my career, writing is my passion. Being creative has sparked a fire within me that is now burning out of control, ideas and characters flow from my mind constantly and unfortunately, when I’m driving or mowing the grass with no pen or paper. My ultimate goal when I write is to help my reader feel something, if your heart skips a beat, if you shed a tear, connect with my characters or if you can’t wait for the next in my series, my job has been done

✦✦ Fun Facts About Myself✦✦

  1. My favorite color is red but pink and purple will do in a pinch.
  2. I am horrified of the dentist, I can’t stand movies with any sort of torture by extracting teeth is involved
  3. I am seriously allergic to Beer, Sausage and Blue Cheese….not much fun at a Super Bowl party
  4. I’m from Iowa but I’ve only seen a farm a couple of times.
  5. I’m a registered nurse in obstetrics and I work every weekend night…again not much partying going on with me.
  6. When I was young I was the bad kid all the parents warned their kids about, trouble followed me everywhere and if it wasn’t following I was looking for it.
  7. I count stairs whenever I climb or descend them, I know how many steps are in every stair case I use frequently, and this would come in handy if I’m ever blind or in a power outage.
  8. I hate to cook and therefore suck at it, ask my five kids they will agree.
  9. Before I wrote Dark Kiss I hated even writing on a birthday card, I guess it’s the subject matter that drives me.
  10. My favorite flowers are lilacs, I think they are considered flowers right? I love to sit outside and just breathe in that scent

Derek Bast, always has the final say. In business and in his personal life, things are done his way, or not at all. So when a scathing review of his new band is published in The Scene and has his record producer second guessing his artistic choices, his band mate trying to call the shots, and Bast’s manager convinced he’s impossible to work with, it’s time to hunt down the source of his problems: Bess Halprin, reviewer for The Scene, the girl next door growing up, and his ex-best friend since senior year when she decided to hate him for no reason.

The last person Bess Halprin wants to see standing in the lobby of The Scene is Derek Bast. Unfortunately, she can’t deny that the last nine years look damn good on him. She expected to hate him. She didn’t expect the way he can still tug at her emotions, or the way his kiss—and his hands—set her on fire. Bess should’ve kept her distance, because Bast was right when he guessed her review was written for revenge. The problem is, to this day he has no idea what he did—how he screwed her over their senior year. The bigger problem? She’s giving him the opportunity to do it again, because she never could resist him.

When circumstances bring them both home to Santa Cruz, Bast earns his way into the heart of the girl next door, but when they return to L.A. and real life rushes in, will he be able to keep her this time or are the mistakes in their past destined to be repeated?

When I first started this one I really didn’t think it was going to be one that really grab me, boy was I wrong. So many emotions with this read. It took me a few chapters to really be pulled in the story plot.  This being said I’m pretty picky when it comes to books I chose to read. The book is very well written and there is not much of a down time with the book. So much goes on in this read that your keep on the edge just waiting to know what happens next.

You have two very strong head people; they have put walls up to protect them from different issues that have come up. This is one very intense roller coaster ride with no stops! Childhood friends they are pulled apart by one mistake that has led to others but end up getting back in touch by a review that is done. Derek is hot head and gets what he wants. Bess is a no holds bar when it come to her work as a report but when it comes to her ex-best friend she can’t seem to tell him what he did to make her hate him, and so we find them knocking heads when Bess review of Derek’s band comes out!

Looking forward to more from Derek and Bess!!!

excerptblue

My eyes roamed over his face, following the line of his eyebrow to his temple, down to his prominent cheekbone to his straight nose then over his full, beautiful lips that could be so gentle and so demanding at the same time. The lips that always spoke what was on his mind and never held back. “If only you did know me better, then you’d know that wasn’t what broke my trust in you. But maybe you wouldn’t have done it in the first place if you’d have thought about my feelings at all.”

He kissed my hand and spoke against my fingers. “What if I did think about your feelings, but got it wrong. You said I didn’t know you, so I might have done something I thought you would be okay with.”

I shook my head. “No. If that was true, you’re not the kind of person I should be here with right now.”

He held my hand more firmly. “So, if I was selfish and didn’t consider your feelings at all, it would be better than thinking you’d be okay with whatever horrible thing I did?”

“Are we going in circles? It sounds like we’re talking in circles.” Derek had the gift of gab and I had to be careful he didn’t talk his way out of this.

“Bess, whatever it was that I did, I’m so sorry. I apologize. But, I do know you well enough to know you won’t accept my apology without me realizing what I’m saying I’m sorry for. Correct?”

“Yes. And no, I won’t tell you. I know you well enough to know that if you think about it long enough, it’ll finally come to you.”

“Well, I know that you know that I know that—wait. We are going in circles.” He grinned and kissed my hand again. “Just know I can’t think of anything else and when it comes to me, I’ll be down on my knees begging forgiveness.”

We lay there for the longest time looking into each other’s eyes, listening to the ocean and the sound of our breathing in sync. My fingers itched to touch him, to trace over his arms, his chest, along his stomach, hold his hard cock in my hand again. I could almost hear his thoughts mirroring mine, wanting to touch and taste, caress and seek release.

Our hands were the only parts of us touching and I was so turned on my body hummed like a live wire. If the wind blew too hard, I’d explode. I could hear a slight hitch in my breathing. He had to hear it too.

“Don’t look down,” he whispered, his addictive lips so close I could feel each word against my own.

“Why?”

“I can’t help what’s happening in my head or my pants and don’t want something else to apologize for.”

I grinned and looked down. “I think you’re growing a tree in there.” God, he was well endowed.

“That explains why it feels like something’s about to break ground,” he said through gritted teeth.

My eyes found his again. The air between us hung heavy and dense with tension. “What’s on the A.P. friendship syllabus regarding this situation?”

He lifted our joined hands and ran his index finger over my lips. “You write the syllabus. I’m only here for the coursework.”

Not able to stand it one more second, I leaned in and brushed my lips to his. “It’s never only anything with you.”

I indulged with my lips and my tongue, rolling him to his back before making my way down his body to the hard, long gift in his trunks.

I have to say I am a little let down my Brooke I really thought she was going to be a much stronger character than she is showing to be. I love the story plot. I’m very curious as to what makes Jett who he is; I was hoping to see more in to him with this book. Over all I enjoy this read it’s a fun fast past read, with a lot of mystery in it. I hope to see Brooke come out a stronger character. Jett does show a much more alpha side in this book. Grayson, hmmm… not quite sure what going on with him just yet. J.C. Reed did a very nice job on writing this book. I’m looking forward to the next to see what twist are coming for Brooke, Jett and Grayson.

I have to let you all in on a little secret, this was the first book in this series that I read; with that said I love it! I didn’t feel like I missed a second of the story with starting with the 4th book. I do recommend that you read the others first just because I know they have to be good and will give you a little more background in to the whole story. You’re not going to have a moment that you feel like putting this book down. It’s nonstop fun. I love how strong Cheryl has made both Misty and Kellin both quick witted but in touch with their softer side too.

If you love a lite heart read that has just enough twist to keep you on your toes you’ll love this book!

Looking forward to reading more from this series!

Excerpt

I drop onto the couch, leaning against the arm. “Where’s Roh?” I ask as I empty my pockets of the suckers I stole from Hope’s giant candy dish. Choosing a red one, I rip the wrapper free and place it on my tongue. The sweet flavor registers and I make a small appreciative sound.

Kellin lowers himself beside me, getting comfortable. “Don’t know. Don’t care.” He grips the end of the sucker stick, surprising me when he tugs it from my mouth and slides it into his own.

It takes me a moment to register how incredibly sexy I find this. I realize my mouth is still hanging open and snap it closed. “Well that was rude.” I try for playful, but my voice sounds coarse and breathy because Kellin’s words replay in my head—I’m not hitting on you. Trust me, there’ll be no doubt in your mind when I do that.

His eyebrows rise as he grins around the sucker. “You’re right.” He pulls it from his lips, holding it out to me. “Sorry. You can have it back.”

There are ten other suckers sitting on the table, three of which are the same exact flavor. I could just as easily take one of those. But I don’t.

Right here. This is when I reach my breaking point. I sweep my hair to one shoulder and lean forward, wrapping my mouth around the sucker and gently pulling it from his hand.

“Thanks,” I say softly.

Kellin swallows, the sound audible in the otherwise quiet room. His tongue skims his bottom lip. His hands curl into fists. “I think I want it back,” he utters.

I tilt my head, blinking slowly. “What will you give me for it?”

Synopsis:

*RECOMMENDED FOR AGES EIGHTEEN AND UP DUE TO EXPLICIT SEXUAL SITUATIONS, AND STRONG LANGUAGE When Gladiator Inc, an adult toy company expands their market to familiarize the ‘vanilla’ world with the elements of BDSM, the result is a pay-per-view reality show with video feeds streamed live to subscribers. The show, Dom Wars, is a competition to determine the Top Dom that will become the spokesperson for the company. The contestants all wear cameras to film every moment and angle of the competition, while they complete various challenges to determine who has ultimately Dominated various elements of themselves. The hero and heroine of the series, Lucian Bane and Tara Reese, have barely made it into the Sixth and Final Round of Dom Wars. This week-long Survival Round will determine the Top Dom, once and for all. The contestants are taken to an uninhabited island, where they will have to cross formidable jungle terrain. First Dom to reach the boat anchored on the other side of the island wins the million dollars and the title. Seems simple. Except Lucian’s old adversary, the Sadist Jase Duff from Round One, has been tasked with making sure none of the five teams make it to the boat. If he is successful, he wins the prize, only it’s not money that Jase Duff cares about, its revenge on Lucian and Tara. And his sadistic need to inflict pain makes it game on.

I fell in love with this series from the very first Dom Wars.  I had a very hard time putting any of them down and Dom Wars 6 was the hardest by far.   I was blown away how much I enjoyed them. You’re going to have a new set of challenges that get more intense with each book.

This book is keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what is coming at the contestants next. My review for this book will not do it justice, I’ll tell you that right now. You are so drawn in to this book you feel like your right there walking and going through the events with them. Extremely vivid detail! Dom Wars 6 is heart stopping action.  You see more in to who each charter is and get to understand some of their ticks.

This is one very highly recommend book, as well as series to read!

Lucain and Aden did an amazing job on this book. Looking forward to reading more from them!

About the Authors:

Lucian Bane:

My name is Lucian Bane, and I’m an Ineffable Dom. That just means, do yourself a favor and please don’t try to fit me into categories. Complicated Dom, Intricate Dom, or Confounding Dom work too. I don’t want a woman I can break, or overpower, or exercise my dominance over. I want a woman I can come undone with. I want a woman I can lose myself in. I think there are many men like myself, and I hope my writing will be a map for them. (And women, to let them know Doms like this exist.) I want to challenge men to go for the complete power exchange with a woman, but don’t be a coward and not give the same that they demand or expect. Consider that when you give one hundred percent of yourself to a person, there is no more of you to give away. You now belong to them the way they belong to you. Inner Doms need a master to train them. I once bowed to my Dom’s reckless and tireless desires, but when I gained control, he bowed to my will. The transformation made me into what I am today. What many would call an Ineffable Dom. But its equal term in the Vanilla world, in my opinion, is a real man.

Fun Facts about Lucian…

  1. I love salt and vinegar chips
  2. I love coffee
  3. I hate liver
  4. I love the lonesome cry of locusts at dusk
  5. I love antiques
  6. I want to live off the land, in the mountains in a remote cabin with Tara and our future family
  7. I love the smell of Pine Sol
  8. Love the smell of a campfire
  9. Love the smell of fresh cut grass
  10. I love swimming in a cold river
  11. I love sleeping with a box fan on (lol old habit)

Aden Lowe:

As an English major in college, I took a summer job as a proofreader for a small town newspaper, and got hooked on editing. I also worked my way through college training horses. After graduation, I landed a job for a small independent editing firm, and stayed there for 15 yrs. An old friend, Lucian, approached me to edit his special fiction project, and I got hooked. After an insane few months editing his Dom Wars series for him, Lucian convinced me I should try my hand at writing as well. I’m his co-author for Round Six, the final Dom Wars installment, and we will co-write the White Knight Academy series as well. And in Sept 2014, I’ll release my debut solo work, an Erotic Western with BDSM elements, “Big Game: A Hunted Love Novella”. In addition, I have a military series in the planning stages.

Fun Facts about Aden…

  1. Might, or might not, have bad dreams about penguins.
  2. Had no idea who Justin Bieber was until a few days ago when Wheels enlightened me and changed my life forever. Not.
  3. Until recently, hadn’t gone to see a movie at the theater since “The Horse Whisperer”. I’m not happy about sitting in the dark with that many strangers.
  4. Loves babysitting the neighbors Little Doms, except when they’re flushing my bathroom rug, or doing something worse.
  5. Drinks a mixture of coffee and hot cocoa instead of coffee.
  6. Not into sports – balls aren’t intended to be hit, batted, kicked, thrown, or otherwise abused.
  7. Lived up to a lifelong goal of making a woman wet her panties… just not in the intended way 😉
  8. According to a certain Little Domme’s mom, big hands and feet mean big other things. And everybody knows moms know EVERYTHING.
  9. Has a horse named Joe. Why Joe? Because it’s far easier to say “Joe, you bastard, you bite me and I’ll take your head off” than “Stardust Lucky Bastard, you bastard, you…”
  10. ADEN IS NOT: 1. Afraid of bugs 2. Innocent 3. Sweet 4. A clean freak (Just can’t stand NOT clean) 5. A workaholic (OK, that one’s a fib) 6. A good liar 7. Intimidated by children who aren’t the Little Doms next door. 8. A Momma’s Boy (Close to and protective of Mom is different) 9. Unlikely to shoot a criminal coming through the front door 10. Above kicking a fool’s ass, literally or figuratively.

This was a fun but emotion packed read. I love the story from beginning to end. Very surprising twist and turns with this book.  This book is going to have you laughing, crying and ready to fight! The story is well written and very well told. Keep you on the edge of your seat!

Biting my nail for the next book!

Ava is strong, determined and know what she wants. She refuse to let things hold her back. Gavin is the hunk of all hunks, model, firefighter and the guy with all the good intentions. They are on a roller coaster ride for a romance that leaves you wondering what is really going to come of it all.

Synopsis
It has been five years since Ava Kingston left her parents’ house in New Jersey. She ran and never looked back, all because of one night. One night that could’ve changed her life forever. Now living in Chicago, working as a journalist, Ava thinks her life is finally where it should be. She is working toward a promotion, has a great family, and a few amazing friends. What more could a girl want? Just when Ava comes to a calming sense of closure in her life, her past reappears in the form of the Hunks in Uniform calendar. Will Ava’s feelings for this fearless firefighter resurface against her better judgment? Or will Ava try to forget the one person she ever really loved?
Gavin Sawyer is a Chicago firefighter who is stopping many women’s hearts as a model for the Hunks in Uniform calendar. Gavin only tried out for the calendar because of her—the one person who knew he was worthy of such prestige. He knew how much she wanted him to do it, but then she was gone. Without a warning, Ava left Gavin behind with a broken heart and bruised ego. He loved her, but she ran. One night separated them forever. Now, five years later, Gavin will stop at nothing to win her back. A chance encounter with Ava sets his heart on fire and proves that old feelings really do die hard.

Excerpt

“Come on,” Gavin said as he pulled her over to a group of people gathered around two men singing “Imagine” by John Lennon. Ava turned to Gavin with a look of shock. He remembered. She had told him in conversation the week before that she loved classic rock, especially The Beatles. She also told him that if she ever had a daughter, she would name her Lennon. Thinking back on it, Ava was surprised Gavin asked her out after that comment. Ava held Gavin’s bicep and laid her head against his arm. She closed her eyes and listened to the two men sing one of her favorite songs. At one point, she began to sway, and she felt Gavin pull her into his body. It felt right being with him. Their bodies fit together perfectly, and she didn’t want to break contact with him. Fire was shooting through her veins, and she couldn’t believe that someone’s touch could do this to her. When the two men were done, the crowd erupted in a loud applause. Ava didn’t notice, but she had been crying. That song always did it to her.

“Are you OK, Ava?” Gavin asked as he wiped a tear with the pad of his thumb.

“I’m fine, Gavin. That is my favorite song, and I always get emotional when I listen to it. That was amazing. Thank you.”

“Of course, but you haven’t seen the best part.” Gavin pulled her through the crowd, and in the middle of the circle was a huge peace sign made out of stone with the word “Imagine” in the middle. Along the outside of the peace sign was a bunch of different flowers outlining it. This truly was amazing. Ava could only imagine what John Lennon would’ve been capable of had he been alive today.

Ava looked at Gavin and reached up on her tippy toes to kiss him on the cheek. “Thank you, Gavin. This has been the best date ever.”

Gavin held Ava in his arms and kissed the top of her forehead. “So, could we add this to the list of things that you like?”

Ava laughed into his chest. “Yes, Gavin, we can.”

The next moment happened so quickly Ava didn’t even realize what was going on. Gavin dipped Ava back and planted a sweet kiss on her lips. Thankfully, Ava didn’t scream when it happened, because the kiss probably wouldn’t have been as amazing. Gavin’s lips were so soft against hers, and they tasted like mint and lemons. Ava cupped her hands behind his head and opened her mouth so Gavin could deepen the kiss. Gavin’s hand was on Ava’s lower back, and the other was behind her head. They continued their kiss, dancing with their tongues. They would’ve kept kissing if it weren’t for the applause and whistles they heard around them. They broke their kiss, and Ava buried her head in Gavin’s chest once again.

“Good job, man!”

“Get a room!”

Gavin just waved to everyone, and Ava pulled him toward the street.

“Oh my god. That was so embarrassing,” Ava said with a slight blush in her cheeks.

“Was it really that bad kissing me?” Gavin asked with his hand over his heart, faking insult.

“No, the kiss was amazing. I have never done anything like that in public before.”

Gavin pulled Ava closer. “Good. I like that I was able to share that with you. But, I promise, Ava, the next time I kiss you will be behind closed doors, and I will not stop there.”

Ava’s cheeks burned, and she knew she was red. The thought of Gavin’s lips on hers again was causing a stir in her belly. She wasn’t the type of girl to sleep with someone on the first date, but she could make an exception for someone who made it the best date she’d ever had.

If this date gave Ava any clue as to how their relationship would be, Ava was going to be one lucky girl.

PYROS (a DarkWorld Origins novel).
This short is the origin story of sexy Fire Mage Logan Westin from Skin Deep.

Logan Westin, is the brooding hunk that steals Kailin Odel’s heart in SKIN DEEP. Even the fact that she’s a panther shifter and he’s plain old human couldn’t stop the sparks from flying between those two.

But Logan has his own little secrets, a history that weighs down on him, memories that seem to escape him. PYROS tells you where Logan comes from both in the origin of his powers and the source of his troubled mind.

And remember, Pyros comes before Skin Deep chronologically.

Excerpt

It was supposed to be a special day.

Logan Westin’s mother had promised to take him to his favorite diner. The one he loved to look at when they walked past on their way to the bus stop. Sometimes he’d slow down. Press his hands to the window and peer inside. Logan loved the look of the red-cushioned seated and the bright gleaming chrome.

Today was his chance to go inside and mother had said she’d get them strawberry milkshakes.

Logan was so excited he couldn’t walk. He had to hop or run, do something more than just stroll along as if their destination wasn’t a place that made him so excited he wanted to laugh out loud.

But Logan didn’t laugh. Father wouldn’t approve. And even though Father no longer lived with them, Logan knew he had to be careful. For Mother and for… For? Who else was he meant to protect?

Logan frowned and skidded to a stop in front of the diner. When he pushed the door open he inhaled the smells, and it all made him giddy with excitement. Coffee, and cooking meat and the polish from the black-and-white checkered linoleum beneath his feet. He pasted a huge grin on his face as he walked inside. Mother followed closely by a little girl whose laughter tickled his insides. She was as excited to be there as he was. They’d waited for so long.

When Logan turned to pull her pigtails he paused, stunned and confused. There was no one there. Even though her laughter still rang through the diner, the haunting sound so filled with happiness, so innocent and bubbly. He knew that voice. Knew if he reached out she’d hold his hand and her skin would be soft and smooth. Knew she’d grab his hand and pull him inside and accuse him of dragging his feet.

But there was nobody beside him.

Excerpt

Clutching the phone, I whispered Anjelo’s name into the device. The darned thing promptly advised me to speak more clearly, its tone annoyingly authoritative, seeming to laugh at me.
Damned machine.
Clearing my throat, I spoke his name again, this time restraining the urge to shout at the piece-of-crap phone.
Dial tone. Thank Ailuros.
“Kailin? What time is it?” Anjelo grumbled, his voice thick with sleep, grumpy and perplexed. He loved sleep, even more than his widely known love affair with Italian pasta. Nothing the school cafeteria supplied would ever tempt his taste buds. Anjelo had gourmet taste.
All he would’ve heard was my grunt of pain as I slid further to the floor, the phone suddenly too heavy to hold to my ear.
“Kailin, you okay?” His voice gurgled as if I were underwater—hollow, strange.
I took a deep breath and gripped the phone, pulling on every last dreg of energy, and said, “Sure. Shot. Bleeding. But okay.”
My voice cracked on each syllable, and I barely heard his urgent request for my location. I scowled at the phone, again so heavy it began to pull my hand to the floor, inch by inch.
Why was he shouting at me? I could hear him perfectly.
I spoke with a false calm. “I’m at the center.” Then I let the phone fall, unable to bear its incredible weight.
Scrambling. The knocking sounds of someone bumping into things in the dark. Muffled oaths, and then a slamming door.
Good. Anjelo’s coming.

Excerpt

I was too light-headed to do anything but sink to the floor, my knees at last losing the fight to hold me up. The heavy-bottomed drinking glass slipped from my grasp falling straight to the wood floor, smashing into a million pieces. As the glass hit the ground water burst from it like a geyser, spraying droplets all over the kitchen. And all over me.

Good job, Odel. Now who’s going to clean up this mess?

I lay where I fell, my face resting close to my poison-wreathed arm. I stared at it as it throbbed and pulsed, as if the poison had taken on a life of its own and was just waiting for the next moment to advance further into my flesh.

Saleem stared out the window at the truck. At the back of Morgan’s dark head of hair. She raised her eyes to the rear view mirror and met his gaze. And for that one moment he couldn’t look away.

Neither did she.

Meet The Author

I have been a writer from the time I was old enough to recognize that reading was a doorway into my imagination. Poetry was my first foray into the art of the written word. Books were my best friends, my escape, my haven. I am essentially a recluse but this part of my personality is impossible to practice given I have two teenage daughters, who are actually my friends, my tea-makers, my confidantes… I am blessed with a husband who has left me for golf. It’s a fair trade as I have left him for writing. We are both passionate supporters of each others loves – it works wonderfully…

My heart is currently broken in two. One half resides in South Africa where my old roots still remain, and my heart still longs for the endless beaches and the smell of moist soil after a summer downpour. My love for Ma Afrika will never fade. The other half of me has been transplanted to the Land of the Long White Cloud. The land of the Taniwha, beautiful Maraes, and volcanoes. The land of green, pure beauty that truly inspires. And because I am so torn between these two lands – I shall forever remain cross-eyed.
