Synopsis

Lauren Michaels is exhausted with the push and pull of copy editing for Los Angeles’s woman’s magazine, Frenzy, which caters to pop culture, style, and above all, sex.

She wants to write for the magazine rather than edit, but her boss is convinced that Lauren’s conservative tendencies won’t fit in with the risqué nature of what Frenzy is about.

Convinced to make her mark, Lauren begs for the chance to prove her self.

Her boss agrees, tasking her with the impossible, in hopes of failure, because although she doesn’t want her to become a journalist, she doesn’t want to lose her as Editor-in-Chief, either.

Her daunting mission? To investigate the growing popularity of sex clubs in Los Angeles, and figure out how the sensual underworld functions.

Out of her element, Lauren starts her search with pen and paper in hand at a local sex shop, hoping she’ll find a trail that leads to the dark lairs of sex and fetishes.

Trying to hide her inexperience, and pretending she’s a professional sex kitten, this trail instead leads her to one brooding, Nathan Sanders.

He’s daunting, charming, and a little too dark and mysterious for her taste, but Lauren knows he’s what she needs as her way in.

What she doesn’t see coming is that Nathan is all too willing to invite her to a nightclub she’s only ever heard stories about, and also the fact that Nathan know’s Lauren doesn’t have a clue what she’s getting herself into.

However, he can’t turn down the idea of helping her out with her research once she confesses the whole story.

This could be fun, they said. There’s no harm in it, they agreed.

Little do they know, a little research can serve up some unexpected results.

I nudge my chin toward him to imply the same. He grins, and his eyes are all over my body at once, dragging quickly over my face, down my chest, my hips, legs, and to my toes before making the same journey back up. I feel like his private exhibit.

I twirl his card between the fingertips of both of my index fingers, giving him my own head-to-toe glance.

“Do you do this often? Stroll into this place and ask for sex?”

Saying the word sex out loud feels terrifying, but also empowering, because that’s what this shop is about, and that’s exactly what it means when a place like Fahrenheit is brought up. I may not know what the hell I’m doing, but I refuse to let these lines get blurred in the process. Let’s not confuse the context. I’m (apparently) agreeing to have sex with Nathan Sanders, and I just met him.

He’s so much taller than me, so when he leans toward me, he’s looming over my frame, but his presence seems to encase me, pulling me in with one swift move.

I try to remember that this is about research, and gaining an understanding of what the world of sex clubs and fetishes are about, but when I stare at someone like Nathan Sanders, I start to forget my reasons for standing here. Having his full attention feels almost like a gift. I like the way he looks at me, even if I don’t know him, and while I want to know more about Fahrenheit, a part of me wonders what dark secrets this guy has, too. Regardless, one thing proves very true right now, that whoever he is, Nathan Sanders wants to fuck me, and I can’t imagine a better person who I’d let be my guide, whether he knows it or not.

It’s in the name of science, I tell myself.

My natural inclination to be responsible and compassionate feels bad for being deceptive, but I remember that when a place like Fahrenheit is involved, normally the person doesn’t care about the why you want to fuck them, they just care about the fact you want to. No need to trouble oneself with the details. I mean, he pretty much invited me for sex before knowing my name.

“Call me when you’re sure,” he blurts out, catching me completely off guard, and pulling me out of my analyzation.

“When I’m sure?” I repeat back. I thought we just decided that I was.

“I want you to think on it. Curiosity killed the cat, ya know? Just think about it tonight, call me tomorrow when you’re sure, and we’ll go from there. If you know what Fahrenheit is then you’ll know that it’s not a decision to take lightly.”

My brows pull together.

“I look forward to the call, Lauren.”

“Sure thing, Nate,” I blatantly chide, enunciating the “t” sharply, finding it funny that although he gave me the option to reconsider, he already seems pretty sure about the outcome.

His beautiful mouth does that twitchy thing again with his eyebrow.

“Pleasure meeting you,” he says, his voice sounding deeper and more mysterious now.

“Pleasure was all mine,” I reply, watching him stroll out of the shop, seemingly empty handled, but I assure you, I’m pretty sure he somehow gained ownership of my curiosity, while I seem to be holding the key to his adventure.

I looked around. I was completely lost and I was already running late for my first class. I took my schedule out of my purse to look at the building name again and, the next thing I knew, I was on the ground, lying on top of some guy.

Wait! What? What the hell just happened?! I looked up at the brick wall I’d landed on and forgot how to breathe for a minute. Staring back at me were the bluest eyes I’d ever seen, not to mention that he was gorgeous. He was just looking at me, giving me a sexy smile. He was wearing a USC shirt, which I found funny because that wasn’t the school we were at. He was smiling at me and that was when I saw the dimples. I personally think it’s unfair that a guy could be this good looking.

“Hey, nice running into you,” the Greek god said.

Damn, his voice was just as sexy as the rest of him. I’d never met someone who made my insides clench from just a look and a short sentence. That was when I realized I was still lying on top of him, and I hadn’t even said a word. Oh my god, he was going to think I was some crazy person!

I scrambled off of him and stood up, trying to straighten my sundress. I looked down at the ground. My purse, books, everything else were now scattered all over the sidewalk. This was just wonderful. I started to pick up all the discarded items and looked up to notice the Greek god still staring at me.

I know I probably looked ridiculous, but what was he staring at? He smiled and then bent down to help me pick up the rest of my stuff. I took this opportunity to really look at him. He had dark brown hair, just long enough to run your fingers through. He had to be about six feet tall and had a body that Hercules himself would be jealous of. He handed me my stuff and I gave him a smile.

I started to walk away when he yelled, “You know Branson Hall is this way, right?” When I turned around, he was pointing behind him. How did he know what building I was going to?

“Are you okay? Do you need the special services building?”

Special services? Oh my god, he thinks I am disabled? Well, considering I’d been with him for five minutes not saying a word and just staring like an idiot, what did I expect? “I don’t need special services, but I was trying to find Branson Hall. How did you know that?” There, I actually spoke. It was a miracle I could, at this point.

One girl. Two wolves. Promised to one. Destined for the other.

To escape the cruel, overbearing, Kade, the Yukon Pack alpha she’s been promised to, Bailey Whitehill flees her home in search of a new life, one of freedom where she can make her own choices. However, Kade will stop at nothing to make her his and begins the hunt.

As Bailey starts her new life, everything she’s known to be true, is not. Time is of the essence and choices have to be made or consequences suffered. Not only does Bailey fear Kade, but another danger lurks deep in the recesses of the forest. Unbeknownst to her, that danger is what she’s been searching for all along. At the turn of the moon, her fate hangs in the balance . . . and it’s up to her to make the right choice.
There was a time when I lived for the pack, when I would do anything to save my people. The white wolves were slowly reducing in number, and now everyone was desperate, struggling to make ends meet before we were wiped into extinction. I was twenty-four years old, and a daughter of the Northern pack alpha. It was my duty to continue my lineage. The only problem was, there were no other unmated alphas around other than my best friend, Sebastian, and the supreme douche, Kade Whitemore.
There was no way in hell I was going to alliance myself with that rat bastard. He was alpha of the Yukon pack, violent, and an overbearing ass who’d rather see me on my back with my legs spread open than being his equal. I’d rather die than be forced to be his mate for all eternity. Why couldn’t I mate with Sebastian? Thinking of fucking him gave me the willies, but anything was better than Kade.
Anger racked my body and I sat there, seething . . . until I felt him. He was coming for me; I could sense him drawing near. The closer we got to the meadow, the more I could smell Kade and his excitement—his lust. Hopefully, he could smell the rage and disgust coming from me.

Cat love 2

Excerpt

At twenty-three, you think you’ve experienced a lot. Been there, done that for the most part. Older people might laugh at you for expressing such beliefs, but you still don’t expect to come across reality-altering experiences.

Here I am, with the morning energy of Seven setting in around me as I carry a small, lost cat from the locked unit back to my apartment… only the bundle of fur is changing.

There’s something wrong, I think, my thought natural and instinctive. But when her coat retracts against my hand, replaced by smooth, human skin, my intuition withdraws too and checks out.

I think I roar while she expands in my arms. I’m frozen in place, my vocal cords the only part of me responding. She grows heavier, longer, wider, until she plops from my hold and onto the floor. Vamp-red hair flames around her in bright waves, and is that a snarl lifting her lip?

For an instant, I swipe the hallway with my eyes, hoping someone sees what I see. No nurses, no doctors, only Mrs. Anderson’s ancient husband is there, fists clutching his walking chair while he takes in the apparition between us.

Not a thread covers stunning porcelain skin. She swings, bereaving me of my fleeting view of a small ruby-red triangle and kiss-shaped nipples, and leaps to the breakroom yards from where I stand.

Ulani’s gone. It takes me a moment to react. I meet old Robert Anderson’s incredulous gaze, and I shake my head at him, both denying what we’ve experienced and assuring him that we’re together in this.

As I turn to follow her, he mutters, “Holy God,” behind me, and my next session with a patient will have to be with Robert. He’s been free of Dr. Holstein’s treatments because of his quiet ways, but if he starts talking about this, he’ll quickly become another notch in the good doctor’s lab desk.

I just experienced something I never thought possible. A freaking cat morphed into a woman. Hell, this is what dreams and movies are made of. At the same time, I’m conditioned to react to the needs of my patients, which is why I chase after her now.

Besides Ulani, no one’s in the breakroom. She’s got part of the curtains draped around her, forming an orange toga, and bare toes with scarlet nail polish peek out. She’s stunning, but more than my physical attraction to her, her emotions fascinate me.

My years in this hospital are few, but the number of hours I’ve worked could double the years, and now it’s time to cloak myself in professionalism.

“Ulani,” I say. “Are you okay?” It’s a simple yet necessary question. Since I have no experience with cat women, I’m not privy to the sort of strain such a transformation can have on their bodies.

Her glare is not human, I realize. I was struck by the beauty of those irises the last time I saw her. Now, she narrows my view of saturated emeralds behind slitted eyes. She’s suspicious but not afraid—neither is she the slightest bit confused. This girl has issues, but they’re not on the mental level.

“Don’t. Say. Anything.” Ulani enunciates the words one by one, putting so much emphasis into her command that her intensity reverberates in my chest.

Efficient footsteps clack down the corridor outside. The slight shuffle of Dr. Holstein’s gait accompanies it. Laurie replies to his orders with “right, of course” and “certainly, Dr. Holstein,” but then they both come to a dead halt in the doorway.

“I found Ulani,” I say quietly.

“Remy, John!” Dr. Holstein barks down the hallway. “I need your assistance immediately.”

I have wanted more of Jason since the one night that we spent together. He has occupied my every dream and invaded my every though. He just needs to let me in and stop fighting it so much. I’m determined to show him exactly what he is missing. I’ll wait for him, but not forever.

What do you do when your whole world is turned upside down? When everything comes crumbling down around you, will you have the will to fight and break down the wall?

I tell Jason that he will be on his own the rest of the day. I am going to go to the mall and do some shopping.

“Can I come?”

He wants to go shopping with me? “Um…I guess, if you want to.”

We get dressed and head off to the mall. My purpose for coming today isn’t really because I need anything. However, my dad gave me a monthly credit card allowance, so I might as well put it to good use. I decide that maybe I will have some fun playing dress up for Jason today.

I take him into one of my favorite stores and have him sit on the chair outside of the dressing room. The first dress I try on is a short black one. It is strapless and looks pretty modest from the front, but when I turn around, the back of the dress dips into a V that stops just above my butt. When I turn around and look back, his face is priceless. This is definitely going to be fun.

I am trying on about my sixth dress, when the curtain to the changing room is pulled back. Jason walks in and immediately closes it back behind him. He closes the short distance between us and has me backed against the wall of the room. “J, What are you doing in here?!” I whisper at him, completely in shock that he is here. I only have the next dress halfway up my body right now, so my breasts are completely exposed.

“I can’t watch you walk out there in one more of those dresses. I need you now, I can’t wait.”

“Jason, I don’t think—” Before I can finish my sentence, he crashes his mouth against mine, and starts to slip off the remainder of the dress I had been trying on.

Title: Dishonorable Love
Author: Savannah Stewart
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: July 21, 2015

Love, Loss, and Lies.
My name’s MacKenzie Cole and what I thought was a simple loving life with my husband, Sergeant Thomas Cole, was anything but that. After his death during a raid overseas I learned that our life together was full of twists and turns that would send me into a whirlwind of trying to figure out the truth behind all of the lies.

When Thomas’ partner from the Marines, Sergeant Julian Cooper, comes into my life it begins to unravel everything that I used to know and pushes me to make finding the truth my number one priority. But the more time I spend with Julian, the harder it becomes to ignore the attraction that I have for him that is burning stronger than anything I felt for Thomas.

Is it possible to overcome the deceit Thomas left me with on my own, or will Julian be the person to pull me from the ashes so that I can start living again?

Dishonorable Love Cover-2
I clutched the folded flag in my arms as the first notes of “Taps” began. Twenty-one gun shots rang out throughout the cemetery as the sounds of people crying for the loss of Sergeant Thomas Cole echoed through the warm breezy air. I wasn’t crying for Sergeant Thomas Cole, I was crying for the loss of my other half, my best friend, my husband.
I cleared my throat as the overwhelming smell of his cologne filled my nostrils. I frantically looked around, thinking it was all some sick joke and that Thomas was standing off in the distance waiting for the precise moment to surprise me with his arrival and beg for my forgiveness for playing such a cruel and heartbreaking joke. I’m not sure how long I sat there scanning the cemetery for a glimpse of Thomas when a man’s voice pulled me back to reality.
“MacKenzie Cole?” I turned my head towards his voice and sucked in a breath from the close proximity of the man sitting beside me. I hadn’t been this close to another man’s face since the last time I was near my husband, the day he left for his last tour of duty.
“Yeah?” I sat back in my chair, putting a little more distance between me and the stranger. He was dressed in the same uniform Thomas was buried in.
“I’m so sorry for your loss…” He choked back his own emotions and extended a hand for me to shake. His sandy brown eyes were glistening from unshed tears. “Sergeant Julian Cooper.”
As soon as his name left his lips I knew exactly who he was. He was Thomas’ right hand man during the last tour of duty. Every time I talked to Thomas he spoke about Julian and how good of a man and soldier he was. I slid my trembling hand into his.
“Nice to meet you, Julian.” A sad smile pulled my lips up just enough to look friendly instead of completely broken.
“Thomas and I were on the same mission when…” Julian trailed off.
“It’s okay,” I placed a hand on his shoulder, still clutching the flag with my other arm. “I know what happened that day.” My voice sounded stronger than I actually was.
Julian’s eyes were full of sorrow and understanding. “He was a helluva Marine.” The strength and honor was laced thickly in his voice as he spoke of Thomas.
“That he was.” I smiled again at the memory of how much Thomas loved fighting for our country. He was brave, loving, and always believed in the mission of keeping our country safe from harm. I loved that about him.
The wind blew in my face and the smell of Thomas’ cologne hit me hard once again. I coughed a couple times as tears pricked my eyes. “Are you okay?” Julian asked, concerned from my small coughing spell.
“I’m—I’m okay,” I lied as I realized the cologne was coming from Julian. I closed my eyes and took in the familiar smell that reminded me so much of my husband. It was almost too much to bear.
“I know you have a lot on your plate, and I don’t want to keep you.” I opened my eyes to find Julian standing. “It was nice to finally meet you, MacKenzie.” He smiled sadly. “I’m sorry it was under these circumstances.”
I stood and placed the flag under my left arm. “Thank you for being a good friend of Thomas’, and thank you for coming today.” A set of tears rolled down my face and I quickly wiped them away.
He nodded. “You don’t have to thank me, ma’am. Thomas saved me on numerous occasions; I just wish I could have done the same for him.”
The thickness of my emotions was closing off my throat. A large sob ripped through my body as I took in the truth of the day. Thomas was gone, his brothers-in-arms couldn’t save him, and I was officially all alone again. The trembling in my legs was so severe that I thought I could collapse at any moment; my arm reached for the wooden chair as I slowly lowered myself back into it.
“I didn’t mean to upset you.” He leaned forward and took one of my hands in his.
“It’s not you,” I managed to say through my heartache. “I just don’t know where to go from here,” I admitted.
Julian took a seat beside me again and allowed the silence to fill the air. He knew there was nothing he could say that would make me feel better; I just wished that there was a way to bring back Thomas. My life was changing and there wasn’t a damn thing I could do about it except move forward.
As my tears dried up I watched the leaves hanging from a tree a few yards away swaying in the light wind. Julian was still sitting beside me, taking in the silence just as I was. I shook myself out of my trance and turned away from the tree to look at him. “What are your plans while you’re in town?”
“I don’t have any.” He turned his attention to my face. “As soon as the hospital released me, I came straight here.”
“You were in the hospital?”
“I was hurt during the raid.” Julian diverted his eyes to the area where Thomas lay.
“I—I didn’t know.” Tears stung my eyes once again.
“I’ll be okay.” His grin didn’t touch his eyes. “It’s a pretty deep flesh wound, but it’ll heal.”
As awful as it sounded, I had never thought about the others that were injured that day. Was it selfish of me? I wasn’t sure. I was still learning how to cope with the news that Thomas wouldn’t be coming home ever again. Guilt twisted in my gut at hearing that Julian had been injured during the same raid that ended Thomas’ life. I wondered how many others were hurt, but I was too afraid to ask.
The sound of a phone buzzing caught both of our attention. Julian dug in his front left pocket and pulled out his cell phone. “I apologize.” He typed away on the screen before placing it back in the same pocket. “I have to go.” His eyes met mine for a second before standing.
I stood as well and wrapped my arms around him tightly. “Thank you for sitting with me.”
Julian hesitated before hugging me back. “You don’t have to thank me. I would have done anything for Thomas.” He took a step back, and I picked the flag up from the chair I had been sitting in. “I’ll be in town for a few days, if you need anything.” Julian pulled a pen from his pocket and scribbled his phone number on the inside of my free hand.
“Okay, thanks,” I smiled. We said our goodbyes and I watched as the only person who was as close to my husband as I was disappeared over the hill.

Kat
If a girl wants a bad boy, they don’t come any tougher than Dalton “Biscuit” Biskette. Biscuit rides with the Selected Sinners MC, and takes no shit from any man – especially cops. He’s tall, covered in tattoos, muscular, has an awesome beard, a huge cock, and a tongue that can tickle my g-spot.
The only thing he likes to do more than ride and fuck is lick…
Considering my penchant for bad boys, he’s perfect in my eyes.
My police officer father disagrees…
And so does my former Marine ex-boyfriend who just got out of jail.
Biscuit
The license plate on my bike says it all – RFOF – Ride, Fuck, Or Fight.
I’ve never met a girl who made me stop and pay attention until I met Kat. There’s only one problem, her father’s a cop.
And I hate cops.
If he thinks he can stop me from fucking his daughter, he’s as wrong as the day is long.
HUNG is a stand-alone MC Romance with an HEA and is book IV in the Selected Sinners series. There is no cheating, nor is there sharing of partners, but the sex is detailed, graphically depicted, and frequent. No other book is required to tell this tale. PLEASE be over 18 to enjoy this book.

From the Author
Thank you for making HUNG a #1 best seller in less than 24 hours, and a #1 HOT NEW RELEASE in less than 24 hours.
This not the typical MC Romance book. It is extremely steamy, has no sharing of partners, and no sex outside the relationship (once relationship develops). It does, however, have very detailed sex scenes which are graphically depicted.
Prepare for an inferno.

Hung Character Interviews

MEETING DALTON (Biscuit) & KAT

Dalton Biskette There was no doubt PMaia
Kat Chadsworth PMaia

A HUNG discussion group was asked, “If you could ask Biscuit (Dalton) or Kat or both ONE QUESTION, what would it be?”
Then, Jen C, an admin from the group, came in with questions in hand to face the characters for the interview.
Thank you, Scott Hildreth, for letting her interview Dalton and Kat. They were fun, well except maybe Dalton, he was a bit intimidating. Thanks, Kat, for keeping him in check!
Jen C: “Do you think you will ever get back in touch with your mom and sister again?”
Dalton: “Right now, my life’s in perfect order. I can’t see myself looking to a family that disowned me and my needs as a kid for somethin’ I didn’t need from them for the last seventeen years, no. My focus right now is my own family, Kat and our soon-to-be born baby.”
Dalton nods his head once toward Kat and grins.
Jen C: “If you could change one thing about the other person what would it be and why????”
Kat raises her hand.
Jen C: “Go ahead, Kat.”

Kat: “Uhhm, no. I fell in love with Dalton because Dalton’s Dalton. For me to change

even one simple thing about him would change who he is. Does that make sense?”

Jen C: “Yes.”
Kat: “Okay, well, that’s my answer. I wouldn’t change a thing.”
Jen turns toward Dalton.
Jen C: “And you?”
Dalton: “Same.”
Jen C: “We’d like to have an answer from you, Dalton.”
Dalton stands halfway from chair and narrows his gaze.
Dalton: “I thought I just fuckin’ gave it. If you want to ask questions and argue with me when I answer the motherfucker’s, maybe you and I …”
Kat raises hand and clears throat.
Dalton shifts eyes toward Kat, pauses and reluctantly sits.
Jen C: “Kat, did you let your brother know that he is going to be an uncle?”
Kat: “My brother was my best friend growing up. I’ve called him and told him, but I haven’t spoken to him in person. He’s almost as excited as we are about the baby. We haven’t told him the sex yet, but when he gets here we will. We’re both kind of excited too, because he bought a Softail Harley, and he wants to go riding. My dad’s not real happy about it, but he’s sure a lot more understanding than he used to be.”
Dalton chuckles out loud.
Jen C: “As a father, what is one thing you plan to teach your child?”
Dalton: “I want to teach our child to be open-minded, understanding, and how to accept love. I ain’t never been one to accept love from anyone. I think it’s ‘cause I never felt I got it as a kid. So, it just makes sense that if Kat and I can give this baby all the love in the world, it’ll grow up accepting and giving love in return. The world’s got enough fuckheads in it. I ain’t lookin’ to raise another.”
Kat nods her head toward Dalton.
Kat: “What he said.”
Jen clears throat.
Jen C: “You’ve got nothing to add on your own?”
Dalton glares at Jen, stands from chair and crosses arms in front of chest.
Kat: “Dalton…”
Dalton slowly sits down.
Kat: “Nope. That’s all.”

Kat: “Well, I guess kind of what Dalton said. I just don’t want her to be

closed-minded. I want her to grow up giving all people a chance to come into

her life. I don’t want her to hate or be prejudiced toward people because of

who she believes they are. Once she learns who they really are, she can make a

decision based on fact, and not a preconceived belief.”

Dalton: “Thought we wasn’t gonna tell the sex, Kat?”
Kat: “Oh shit. Can you like, uhhm, scratch the part about the sex?”
Jen C: “Nods head.”
Dalton: “I ain’t bullshittin’ on this. Don’t print that shit, understand?”
Jen nods head.
Jen C: “Kat, why when you found out you were pregnant did you go back to the abuser, Kyle? Isn’t it a mother’s job to protect her child? Did you not want the best for your baby? Did you not think that Dalton would make a good father? Families are made up in many ways.”
Kat: “Legally, Kyle was the baby’s father. In my mind, the proper thing to do was to give him a chance to be the father of the child. Turn the tables. If you were a shitty person in the eyes of your friends, would it be fair for someone to take your chance to be a mother just because you were violent, or crappy acting? And for them to make that decision before the baby was born, and take that opportunity would be wrong. I gave Kyle a chance to be his child’s father. He fucked up. I did my part to include him, and now it really doesn’t matter, but I feel good about my decision.”
Jen C: “Biscuit, When Kat told you she was going back to the abuser, Kyle, why didn’t you fight for her? Why didn’t you try and protect her by not letting her go back? Did you not think that you could provide a good life for her and her baby? Did you not think you were more worthy then Kyle?”
Dalton: “Good question. Life’s about knowing how to provide respect. In the club, people make decisions all the time I may not agree with, but accepting them as my brothers means I respect them. And, if I respect them, I must respect their decisions. I don’t have to always agree with them, but I always need to respect them. No one person is always right. When Kat made that decision, I asked her if in her mind it was final. She said yes, and she told me it was the right thing to do. In her mind, it was proper for her to give him a chance. For me to argue with her, or fight, would have been to say I don’t think she’s got the ability to make a decision on her own. I sure as fuck didn’t agree with her, but I needed to respect her, and respect her decision.”
Jen C: “Being married and having a family has to be so opposite of being a 1%r. How are you going to manage the MC, your relationship with Kat and being a father??”
Dalton: “Bein’ a 1%er doesn’t make me any different than another father. Bein’ a 1%er isn’t a job, it’s a lifestyle, a way of bein’, a way of livin’. I’m gonna always be an outlaw, but that don’t mean I’m a criminal. Right’s always right, and wrong’s always wrong. Baby or no baby, if some cocksucker does wrong, and I’m within arm’s reach or earshot, he’s gonna get hands put on him. That’s just life working out the kinks and wrinkles. Baby or no baby, I got a responsibility to my brothers and my family. Bein’ a 1%er allows me to fulfill that responsibility.”
Jen C: “Besides the obvious Kat, how does Biscuit complete you??”
Kat: “I can’t really put it into words. It’s a feeling, or maybe an understanding. Since he’s been in my life, I haven’t worried about anything. It isn’t just a physical presence, but I know nothing will ever happen to me. That feeling of safety, combined with the love that’s pretty apparent makes me feel so whole. It’s just really hard to explain. I guess it’s what love does.”
Kat shrugs shoulders.
Jen C: “For Biscuit and Kat, in five years from now where do you see yourself…as a family, a mother, a father, and the MC?”
Dalton: “In five years? Hopefully the room won’t be repainted by then. I’m thinkin’ I’m pretty good with the color I picked, and for once, I don’t want to change it. I’m gonna try and slow down on the drinkin a little, and not ride drunk. We talked about that, and I’m gonna give it an honest shake. As far as the club goes, it’ll be the same thing. Well, that and maybe I’ll be the Vee Pee.”
Kat: “In five years, all I want to see is two babies in the house. I don’t want anything else to change.”
Kat glances at Dalton
Dalton stands, walks to Kat, and bends down. After a moment of holding his mouth an inch from her lips and whispering something inaudibly, he kisses her on the lips lightly. As their lips part, he stares down at her, and kisses her full on the lips. As he stands, he turns toward Jen.
Dalton: “Add that to my list. Another baby.”
Jen C: “Dalton, why don’t you like oatmeal cookies?”
Dalton: “If that cocksucker’d taken an oatmeal cookie, I’d have shook his hand. Oatmeal is for breakfast. You don’t put that shit in a cookie.”
Jen C: Uhmmm. What’s the fascination with the Red Bull? It’s so bad for you. That’s a whole lotta Red Bull!
Dalton: “It ain’t a fuckin’ fascination, it’s a necessity. Maybe you ought to drink more of it, and you wouldn’t be so fuckin’ uptight.”
Jen C: I’d like to know what other hidden talents you have… hehe. Get your mind out of the gutter, not sexually, but like your
diving skills…
Dalton: “Took me some divin’ lessons. Toad had a judo class at the YMCA for about two years, and I took it. In two years I got my brown belt. I’ve done some rock climbing, and I can do the splits pretty good. Did yoga for a while, and I got
that down dog deal goin’ for me, but yoga got kinda weird when all the guys in
the tights started showin’ up. I guess my one skill that I don’t advertise what
maybe I ought to is this…”
Dalton sticks out his tongue, and with tongue extended fully from his mouth, flicks
the end of it up and down in a rapid motion. As he retracts his tongue into his
mouth, he grins.
Dalton: “Use your imagination.”
Jen C: “Kat, What is your brother’s name? Will we get to meet him?”
Kat: “My brother’s name is Kole. My parents spelled it with a K. He’s coming back to Kansas and we’re hoping he’s going to stay. He lost his job at the plant, so Dalton and I are hoping he’ll stay here. We’ll see.”
Jen C: “Dalton, Two final questions: Would you reverse your vasectomy without any thought, so you could have more children and last, would you ever walk away from the MC for Kat or your family?”
Dalton: “The MC is my family. For me to walk away from them would be no differently than my family basically walkin’ out on me as a kid. And the other question? Already answered that one in Kat’s ear.”
Kat turns to Jen and grins.

Kat: “And you can put that one in print.”

Flash Point by Brooke Blaine

A Standalone Romantic Suspense Novel

Release Date: July 12, 2015

Synopsis

The first time I saw her, I knew I’d have to kill her.

It’s been five years since the brutal death of her mother, and Katherine Shaw still relives the nightmares of that night.

She escaped.

The danger should’ve been over.

She couldn’t have been more wrong.

When her father, a prominent judge, receives a chilling death threat, her past comes hurtling into her present.

The warning is clear: They’ve got unfinished business, and they’re coming for her.

Katherine Shaw.

Rich girl? Check.

Spoiled and obstinate? Check.

A beautiful fireball who pushes every button he has? That was not listed on the dossier Jason Garrett receives when he’s assigned as one of her bodyguards. The last thing he ever expected was that his tempting client would prove to be more dangerous than those he’s protecting her from.

Their attraction would be forbidden even under the best circumstances. But as the threat draws near, the tension between the two of them rises, culminating in an explosive flash point that will blindside them both.

The wind whipped around them suddenly, a ferocious gust that caused Katherine’s long locks to go flying in every direction. She looked a bit like Medusa right then, hair thrashing about like snakes, hypnotic jade eyes blazing, and just as she lifted the hood of her jacket over her head, the wind died down.

“Yeah, that just figures,” she muttered, as she put her hand inside the hood to smooth down her hair.

Jason’s phone buzzed in his pocket, the caller ID reading Thompson. He answered before the second ring. “Sir.”

“Just calling to check in with you, Garrett. I spoke with Kirkpatrick and went over the rundown on our end, and he gave me—”

“Ow, shit, motherfucker—”

A string of curses continued to fly from Katherine’s mouth, her arm caught in an awkward angle over her face. The bracelet on her wrist had hooked onto the jacket liner of her hood, and the more she tried to yank it free, the more it snagged.

Thompson’s voice turned apprehensive. “Is everything okay over there? Is that Katherine—”

“Yes, yes, she’s fine,” Jason said.

“She doesn’t sound fine.”

“Just a little…female issue.”

“Female issue…? Ohhhh. I see. Well, good luck with that. Talk later.” Thompson hung up swiftly, and Jason shook his head. Wimp.

Katherine stomped her foot as she continued to wrench her arm free, and he tried not to smirk at how ridiculous she looked.

I should just leave her like that, he thought in amusement.

“Are you gonna talk on the phone all night or are you gonna fucking help me sometime this century?”

“Do you really want me to answer that?” he asked.

“No, what I want right about now is a chainsaw to free myself and then stick up your ass.”

He shoved the phone back in his pocket. “Sounds like foreplay.”

She stopped struggling for a moment, and he tried not to notice the way her shirt had ridden up to display a few inches of her creamy skin. “Now the sense of humor comes out? Now?

Stepping forward, he grabbed her wrist with one hand and tried to get her bracelet free with the other, but it was lodged in tight. Her pulse beat rapidly under his thumb, and he stroked over it once before realizing what he’d done. A quiet gasp escaped Katherine’s lips.

“Hold still,” he murmured, tightening his grip. “It might hurt.”

With a quick snap, he ripped the hood away, a chunk of tattered material still clinging to the mangled jewelry. She pulled the bracelet off her arm and rubbed her wrist.

“Thanks,” she said, a bit breathless.

He nodded as he backed away, and she got the hint to keep moving and not mention it.

They walked together in silence, for once, until a cluster of buildings came into view, and Katherine directed them toward it. When he saw her look over at him from the corner of his eye, he braced himself for the next round of questioning he knew was coming.

“So…you never told me your first name,” she said.

“No, I didn’t.”

“Well, that’s rude. I thought we just had a moment there, Jason.”

He stopped in his tracks, and she burst out in victorious laughter.

How the hell did she know that?

“And you thought I was unobservant.” She wore a smug look on her face. “I may be a lot of things, ruiner of jackets included, but give me a little credit here.”

“Where did you hear that?”

She shrugged. “It was a hunch. I’d referred to you as Jason Statham when I was talking to Steven at my father’s house, and I noticed you flinched when I said it. So, either you get that comparison a lot, or it was an involuntary reaction to hearing your name and trying not to react. Thank you for confirming my suspicions.”

Well I’ll be damned. Not just a pretty face, are you?

“Oh,” she said then, taking a step back. “Oh, no. That’s not…a tiny sliver of respect I see in your eyes, is it?”

He grimaced. “No.”

“Thank God,” she said with mock relief as she climbed the stairs to the main doors and stopped just outside them. “I couldn’t take it if you actually liked me.”

He had nothing to say to that, too busy trying to see past the mask she wore that he’d only briefly thought about earlier. She was observant. I wonder what else she’s hiding…

She turned around. “Can I ask you something?”

“God knows you would anyway.”

The Katherine that faced him now wore a serious expression, with no trace of the sarcastic woman he’d had to deal with the past few days. She cocked her head to the side as she studied his face.

“Are you always this much of an asshole with your clients, or am I just lucky?”

Before he could summon an answer, she reached for the door handle but then pulled away so he could enter first. She stayed beside him as she walked them to her class, and he knew she didn’t expect a response. After getting her settled and taking position against the wall nearby, he entertained her question.

Two things he knew for sure: First, he was definitely an asshole. And second, under the current circumstances, he’d never refer to Katherine Shaw as lucky.

About the Author:

You could say Brooke Blaine was a book-a-holic from the time she knew how to read; she used to tell her mother that curling up with one at 4 a.m. before elementary school was her ‘quiet time.’ Not much has changed except for the espresso I.V. pump she now carries around and the size of her onesie pajamas.

Flash Point is her debut solo novel, and she is the co-author of the erotic serial, A Desperate Man, with Ella Frank. The latter has scarred her conservative southern family for life, bless their hearts.

If you’d like to get in touch with her, she’s easy to find – just keep an ear out for the Rick Astley ringtone that’s dominated her cell phone for ten years.
