Moving on after a tragedy can be impossible, especially when you’ve been

dealing with those tragedies for over two years. But it’s her senior year, and Harley Anderson is more

than ready to do just that, even though the skeletons in her closet can’t exactly be hidden.

Enter Mason Daniel, the egotistical, sexy, surfer boy from California. A boy

with his own hidden demons, and an even bigger secret agenda. Mason isn’t right for Harley. He knows

this better than anyone. He’s the epitome of a runner, a guy who takes what he can get, only to split a

short while later. But he can’t deny the emotions that Harley brings out of him, so he’s going to break

his rules for once.

He should have known what it would lead to…

Two kindred souls, both lost and then found. Will they fail in their search

for contentment and happiness, or will they instead find true love when it’s least expected?

A Long Time

Coming

A Long Time ComingAbigail Orson has a problem. A love problem to be precise; and she has absolutely no

idea how to go about fixing it.

For years now, she has been chasing her best friend’s brother—demanding

things from him that he’s never wanted to give. For one? A real relationship that surpasses well beyond

that dreaded ‘just friends’ zone. You see, David Anderson is her idea of perfection to a T. The one and

only guy who has ever had the ability to make her heart beat faster; make her toes curl with the simple

blink of his long, girly lashes. But David is also a recovering amputee, and the only thing he really wants

from Abigail is to be left alone. Abigail is a fighter though, and losing the one guy who has ruined her for

every other is no longer an option.

A guy with one leg who has lost his motivation to live—to love—to actually

be a man. David believes he’s a waste of space. If only the beautiful girl of his unattainable dreams

would get that through her perfect, blonde, stubborn head! He’s not the right guy for Abigail. He’ll never

be worthy of what she deserves. However, staying away is almost impossible, especially when he’s just

as in love with her as she is with him. But Abigail has a life ahead of her, one that’s definitely livable

without a nineteen–year–old gimp like him holding her down. What makes her want to stick around is

beyond questionable to David’s mind.

Choices will be made. Lines will be drawn. And together, they will face

challenges that nobody saw coming. David and Abigail may have had almost fourteen years to fall in

love, but the thing is, timing and love have never exactly worked in their favor.

It has been years in the making, and definitely A Long Time Coming for

David and Abigail. Let’s hope they don’t screw it up before they actually have the chance to get it

right…

From New York Times Best-Selling Author K. Bromberg comes an unforgettable series about lust, love, redemption, and healing…

Our paths should never have crossed.

Colton Donavan was arrogant, exuded that bad boy vibe, and embodied everything I never wanted. And yet all it took was one night, one hallway, and one stolen kiss for me to know I hated him and desired him instantly.

My heart was healing. His soul was damaged. But with one bid, one little boy, and one carnival date, I couldn’t walk away and he wouldn’t let me in.

This is our story. Our fight. Our perfectly imperfect love.

What happens when the one person you never expected suddenly happens to be the one you’ll fight the hardest to keep?

Colton stole my heart. He wasn’t supposed to, and I sure as hell didn’t want him to, but he crashed into my life, ignited feelings within me that I thought had died forever, and fueled a passion that I never knew could exist.

Rylee fell out of that damn storage closet and into my life. Now I don’t think I’ll ever be the same. She’s seen glimpses of the darkness within me, and yet she’s still here. Still fighting for me. She is without a doubt the saint, and I am most definitely the sinner.

How is it the one thing neither of us wanted—neither of us anticipated that fateful night—has us fighting so hard to keep?

He steals my breath, stops my heart, and brings me back to life again all in a split second of time. But how can I love a man who won’t let me in? Who continually pushes me away to prevent me from seeing the damaged secrets in his past? My heart has fallen, but patience and forgiveness can only go so far.

How can I desire a woman who unnerves me, defies me, and forces me to see that in the deep, black abyss of my soul there’s someone worthy of her love? A place and person I swore I’d never be again. Her selfless heart and sexy body deserve so much more than I’ll ever be capable of giving her. I know I can’t be what she needs, so why can’t I just let her go?

We are driven by need and fueled with desire, but is that enough for us to crash into love?

When life crashes down around us, how hard are we willing to fight for the one thing we can’t live without, each other?

Life is full of moments.

Big moments.

Little moments.

And none of them are inconsequential.

Every single moment prepares you for that one instance that defines your life. You must overcome all your fears, confront the demons that chase you, and cleanse the poison that clings to your soul or you risk the chance of losing everything.

Mine started the minute Rylee fell out of that damn storage closet. She made me feel. Made me whole when all I thought I could ever be was incomplete. Became the lifeline I never knew I needed. Hell yes, she’s worth the fight…but how do you fight for someone you know you don’t deserve?

Love is full of ups and downs.

Heart stopping highs.

Soul shattering lows.

And none of them are insignificant.

Love is a racecourse of unexpected twists and turns that must be negotiated. You have to break down walls, learn to trust, and heal from your past in order to win. But sometimes it’s the expected that’s the hardest to hold on to.

Colton has healed and completed me, stolen my heart, and made me realize our love’s not predictable nor perfect—it’s bent. And bent’s okay. But when outside factors put our relationship to the test, what lengths will I have to go to prove to him that he’s worth the fight?

Whoever said love is patient and love is kind, never met the two of us. We know our love is worth it—have acknowledged that we were meant to be—but when our pasts crash into our future, will the repercussions make us stronger or break us apart?

Crossing The Line Teaser 2

Meet the Author

I am a domestic engineer (born and raised in NJ) whose sole responsibility is to guide three young, impressionable kids into becoming phenomenal adults. This challenging yet rewarding work requires a lot of love (coffee), patience (wine), and determination (periodic exorcisms). I work this magic from the beautiful state of New Hampshire.
Before becoming a domestic goddess (not really), I spent over a decade in the medical field, where I wore more hats than the Queen.
I have loved the written word and the great escape it provides since I was a little girl. When I wasn’t reading about people and the places they lived, I was creating my own characters and adventures.
Finding myself again through my writing in The Lost & Found Series, The One, and The GEG Series has been nothing short of a dream come true. Also, it makes people feel better when I laugh randomly or talk to myself, knowing it’s my characters and not “the voices” . . . that would be creepy.

Have you ever loved so hard your world changes? Your heart feels

like it’s been consumed by another? Life and living take on new meanings and

now you know the difference?

It happened to Ann three times in her life, well really twice, but the third

was close. Three strikes and you’re out right? Ann is an indie writer. She

never dreamed people would actually read her books and want more. Two series

in, she’s lost her belief that she is worth anything to anyone but her family.

Harsh words from a man she loved reinforces that belief. Who would want a woman

destined for a wheelchair?

Nick and Memo lost the closest family they had within a year of each other.

They grew into their manhood disconnected and never knew unconditional until

they meet Ann who only does ‘all in.’ Watching her exes stroll through her

life, at the worst possible moments, trying for a second chance, isn’t easy.

Can they prove their love for her is the unconditional she craves and not lines

from one of her books?

Can they do this while protecting her and her family from the stalker that will

do anything to own his very own Ann?

Spying Eyes t2

L. Ann started with the Baxters and is working on her third series, The Princes

of Prophecy MC. While her books feature ex-SEALs and Badass Bikers, L. Ann is

writing about the strong women that these men need in their life to help right

the worlds wrongs and help keep their small part of the world safe. The women

are extraordinary, strong and determined to make a difference.

The men fight for right in every book. Yes they kill people. Yes they shoot at

the bad guys feet to cause them pain. Yes they throw tampons at each other

regularly.

That being said, they do these things while stopping human trafficking,

bringing their Club into legitimate businesses, fight gangs to keep drugs away

from their town and kids, keep women sheltered safely while trying to stop

domestic abuse. These are men that don’t leave a Brother behind. They don’t

treat women as possessions and they don’t cheat. Respect takes on an honorable

meaning. Women and kids are cherished. Everyone is looked out for.

L. Ann has made the perfect Club, tackled the taboo subjects and made it easy

to imagine living in a world where your protection comes from the SEALS and

Bikers.

With readers writing about rereading the series over and over, she feels like

she’s told her characters stories in a way that would make them proud.

Every book will make you laugh, every book will make you angry for the wrong

that happens in the world. Every book will make you cry for the pain that a

character feels.

Don’t take my word for it. Pick one up and try it out. The Baxters book 1 is

FREE. MC Book 1 is .99. Give them a shot and Happy Reading!

Exclusive Excerpt:

Tall grass, dried from the blazing summer days, crunched under their duty shoes. Heat hung over the dirt road, and not even the pools of shade cast by tall water oaks offered relief. The red clay, already rutted and dusty after the recent rains, baked under the early-afternoon sun, and a black snake sunned himself beside the ditch.

Zeke’s forlorn truck sat next to the turnoff to the sprawling fields. On one side of the dirt track, green corn stalks, tassels golden and silky, reached toward the blue cloudless sky. On the other, neat rows of peppers and squash, heavy with ripe produce, ran up to the far woods. Cicadas buzzed in a quivering rise and fall of distant sound. The police radio beeped and squawked, a garbled transmission between Chris and dispatch, a license-plate check. Around the abandoned Ford, a bubble of silence pulsed. The window was down, a cell phone and wallet on the dash. The keys, on a John Deere fob, dangled from the ignition. Empty fertilizer jugs littered the bed. A tidy stack of bushel baskets waited next to the vehicle.

Around the truck, the grass was beaten down, trodden low by farm vehicles, tractors and booted feet. Rob leaned down to better see inside the truck, but didn’t touch anything. “When was the last time you heard from him?”

“Yesterday at lunch.” Worry roughened Dale Jenkins’s voice. “His mama tried to call him last night and there was no answer, but that’s not real unusual. She called Britt this morning when he still didn’t answer, and he never came home last night.”

“Why didn’t Brittany call us?” Rob straightened and pulled out his notebook to begin jotting.

“She said it’s not unusual for him not to come home some nights.”

Really. That was new. Rob scratched down a note, but kept his face impassive. “Have you talked to any of his friends today? Other relatives he’s in contact with?”

“His grandma hasn’t heard from him. My wife’s been calling his friends, and none of them have seen or heard from him.”

Rob cast a look at the cell phone on the dash. “Did you touch anything in the truck?”

“No. When I got here and saw his stuff like that, I walked the field and through the woods down to the stream, just seeing if I could find him.” Dale wiped a hand across his tense jaw. “I been friends with Tick Calvert a long time, and my wife likes that Dateline show. I knew better than to touch anything when I didn’t find him.”

“Okay.” Rob stared at the truck, then down the turnoff and into the woods. Turning, he nodded at Troy Lee. “Will you get Parker out here with the dog? And bring me the evidence kit from the trunk.”

With his phone, he snapped a series of photos of the scene and the truck’s interior.

“Chris is on his way.” Troy Lee stopped beside him and set down the multiple-compartment box that housed the evidence kit. Rob removed two pair of latex gloves and snapped them on, one pair over the other. Rather than open the door, he reached through the open window and retrieved the cell phone. The home screen glowed to life to reveal myriad missed calls from his parents and Mike Smithwick, plus various texts from Brittany and a couple of friends. Rob swiped his thumb across the screen and the keyboard popped up for a passcode entry.

He glanced sideways at Jenkins. “Do you know his passcode?”

“Four-one-two-zero.” Jenkins cleared his throat. “It’s part of Emma’s birthday.”

Rob navigated to check for the last outgoing texts and calls, both of which dated to late the previous morning. A phone call to his mother around eleven, then a text to Brittany at twelve.

Rob placed the phone in an evidence bag, labeled and sealed it. He squinted across the field, quiet and deserted under the midday sun. “Mr. Jenkins, other than the situation with Brittany this week, has Zeke had other difficulties you know of? Has he been in any trouble or talked to you about any problems he’s had lately?”

“No.” Jenkins pushed up the bill of his battered cap with one finger and scrubbed a hand over his forehead. “He’s always been a real good boy. We weren’t happy about Britt being pregnant with them so young and not married and all, but since they got married, he works hard to take care of her and Emma.”

The grass surrounding the produce field showed no evidence of recent foot traffic. Maybe he’d never even made it into the field. “You said you talked to his friends. Is it possible he’s with one of them?”

“No.” Jenkins shook his head. “He might ignore Britt and he might ignore me, but that boy would never ignore his mama.”

Excerpt:

She turned her attention to the man who’d rushed in to save the day. Oh, he had muscles all right. But she suspected he didn’t spend all of his time in the gym.

“Stay down,” Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome growled. Jared whimpered and looked as if he might cry.
The man who’d rushed in and rescued her turned to her.

His expression softened as his deep brown eyes scanned her from head to toe. A lock of his wavy, dark hair fell over his forehead.

Her hero looked as if he’d stolen Patrick Dempsey’s hair and Channing Tatum’s muscles. And to her impromptu rescue she was wearing a witch’s wig that had been on clearance at the Halloween store.

But without the ugly wig, someone might recognize her, and she’d be stuck signing autographs instead of rehearsing.

“Are you all right, ma’am?” he asked.

“Fine,” she gasped, still fighting to regain her equilibrium. His brow furrowed as he reached into one of the many pockets lining his shorts. He withdrew a cell phone. “Would you like me to call the police?”

“No,” she said quickly. “Really, I’m fine.”

His concern deepened as if the word “fine” meant something altogether different to him.

She offered him her best smile, the one that won over audiences night after night.

“I saw what happened,” he said. “I can give a statement. It won’t be your boyfriend’s word against yours.”

“Chris—” Jared started.

“He’s not my boyfriend,” Chrissie said, cutting Jared off before he could reveal her identity to the stranger. “We’re backup singers. Both of us. We’re shooting a music video out here later today. And we wanted to get in some practice.” She forced a fake laugh. “Clearly, we need it.”

The man with the movie star muscles took a step back. “Music video?”

“Uh-huh. The song is about lust, love, and well…” She bit her lower lip and glanced at her feet. “Sex. It’s a country song.”

He crossed his arms in front of his chest, drawing attention to his biceps.

One touch. Just one.

But she fought the temptation. She needed the handsome stranger to continue with his hike through the canyons before he recognized her.

Or decided to call the cops despite her protests.

The sun shone overhead, the temperature neared ninety, and the humidity was hair-curlingly high on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia, making it hard to believe a hurricane was coming soon. Ella Shaw glanced up at the blue sky, knowing it wouldn’t remain pristine for long.

The calm before the storm.

She pulled her hair into a high ponytail and headed out of her hotel, determined to hit the local gift shop she’d caught sight of on her way to the photo shoot yesterday. She’d seen long, draping, blue-beaded necklaces from the storefront window, but she hadn’t had time to stop. Her boss was a stickler for getting the right shot in the exact light, and they’d worked well past dark. By the time they’d wrapped for the day, the store had been closed.

As an assistant for Angie Crighton, a fashion designer based in Miami, Ella was responsible for the little details involved in a photo shoot. And though Angie, the photographer, and models had left the island this morning, Ella had stayed to make sure the shooting site was clean, the hotel pleased enough to allow them back another time. And if she were honest with herself, she liked the downtime after the craziness of a photo shoot, the rushing around of the crew, the bossiness of some of the models and, of course, of Angie herself.

Ella appreciated the fact that she had time to souvenir shop for her best friend, Avery Dare. How ironic was it that the two girls from very different worlds had met at all? But they had. And it was Avery who’d introduced Ella to the finer things in life, leading her to seek out a job with an haute-couture designer. Whereas Avery came from a wealthy family, Ella had been raised firmly middle class, but the two girls had bonded instantly. They’d even shared an apartment until recently, when her best friend had moved in with her rock star boyfriend, Grey Kingston.

Yep, two different worlds, even now, Ella thought wryly. But their friendship was solid. Which reminded her, she needed to let Avery know she might not make it back to the States tomorrow as planned.

When Ella had heard about the storm changing course, she’d tried to book an earlier flight out, without success. She shivered at the possibility of being stranded here alone during a hurricane and knew Avery would like the news even less. Her best friend suffered from severe anxiety, and Ella didn’t like to make her worry.

She’d just buy Avery an extra gift to make up for it, she thought, walking into the shop. She immediately headed to the turquoise-blue beads she’d seen through the window. The shopkeeper claimed they were Larimar beads. Even if they were fake, the beads, popular in the Caribbean, were said to have healing powers. Ella purchased two dozen, a mix of bracelets and necklaces, so she could share with the children at the cancer treatment center where she and Avery volunteered.

Avery had been nine, Ella ten years old when they’d met at a Miami hospital, both donating bone marrow, both there at the behest of a parent. Neither of them really understanding what was happening. All Ella had known was that she was doing a favor for her father, helping the stepmother Ella didn’t like all that much to begin with. Even at a young age, Ella had been a good judge of character, a better one than her father, obviously, because shortly after Janice had gotten well, she’d left Ella’s dad. And both her father and Ella’s life had gone downhill from there. Ella shook off the thoughts of her past before she could go deeper and darker, and focused on the pretty jewelry.

She spent some time choosing a thick turquoise bracelet for Avery and a similar one for herself before paying for everything and waiting for the shopkeeper to wrap things up.

Bag in hand, she started back to the hotel, cutting through side streets and looking into the windows of the stores, soaking up the culture along the cobblestone streets before heading back to Miami tomorrow. At least, she still hoped she’d be home. Knowing she couldn’t change the outcome, she pushed her worrisome thoughts aside. She’d deal with the situation as it came.

Sweat dampened her neck from the humidity of the island, and she contemplated taking a cab back to the hotel. She reached into her straw bag and pulled out her cell phone to make the call, when, without warning, she felt a hard jerk on her purse.

“What the—?” She spun around, but whomever wanted her purse was quicker.

She barely caught a glimpse of a tall guy with dark hair as he yanked harder, nearly pulling her shoulder out of its socket before slamming her against the nearby building with his other hand.

Her head hit the concrete wall, and spots immediately appeared behind her eyes from the impact. As she struggled not to pass out, the man grabbed her purse, along with her cell phone that had fallen to the ground.

She opened her mouth to scream, but nothing came out. Her legs collapsed beneath her, and she fell to the ground, her head smacking the sidewalk before everything went black.

In the era of free love and nickel beer, I was ‘the good girl.’ From a family whose finances were wrecked by the sudden illness of my father, my Mom took the reins and went to work. Watching her taught me to value security more than dreams. Every penny counted and was counted twice.

I wrote stories as a girl and laboriously printed them in spiral notebooks, but I put aside my childhood dreams and took a job teaching high school English in a tough inner city school to put my husband through graduate school— until a fight interrupted a lesson on subjunctive mood and verb tense. Two students fought out of the classroom and into the hallway while the rest cheered them on. One picked up the other and threw him over the staircase where he landed with a wet thump.

I quit at the end of the year, went back to school, and studied broadcast journalism, spending more than three decades producing news shows, telling other people’s stories, and running educational television stations for universities, and teaching. A bout with cancer, a divorce or two, and the conclusion of raising two wonderful children refined my focus, and I returned to my first love, writing.

Romantic mysteries are complex puzzles solved by complicated, conflicted characters who have interesting relationships, and I love reading them. The Nation series is set on the Navajo Nation, and the setting is always a character– – the dry mountains, and the sweeping deserts, occasionally pounded by rains that turn the dry washes into rivers of mud and debris.

In No Reason to Hide, a female Navajo cop struggles to save her younger brother from an Indian gang, and the evil which stalks him for revenge.

Excerpt:

My younger brother’s grin was triumphant. “Don’t play yourself or me for stupid. I’m a Cobra.”

“Where were you last night?”

“Oh, so now you’re not my loving caretaker. You’re a cop.” He jacked his pants up to his waist. Buttoning and zipping with only one good hand was hard for him.

“Don’t you ever talk to me like that. Knowing where you were last night is caring for you. Answer me.”

He barked, “I was home. Mom was there. She can vouch for me. She’s working days.”

If Mom was working day shifts, she could back him up—if he was telling the truth. If he wasn’t, well, I didn’t want to think about it. “I’ll ask Mom.”

“Yeah”—he sneered—”you do that. Check up on the little bro.”

“Stop acting like a jackass. You have a family who loves you, and you have opportunities if you don’t screw them all up. Here, throw your shirt around your shoulders. I’m taking you home, and then I’m going back to work.”

“Is Mom going to be at home?” He sounded like a little boy, and his eyes were rounded with fear.

“Mom will be home after work. Would you like me to pick you up a burger? You can eat before you go to bed. I’ll call and check on you until Mom gets home.”

“Yeah, I’m hungry.”

Still not a thank you, but less mouthy. He needed help getting up on the running board and into my police unit. I drove through Burger King and then on to Mom’s house. She lived on the Nation in a weather-beaten single-wide where the three of us had grown up. I vividly remembered the day the front door banged shut behind my Dad. What I hadn’t known was his back was the last I would ever see of him.

I call Austin, Texas home now after working on the East and West coasts, the Rocky Mountains, and an island in the Gulf of Mexico. I’ve come full circle to live and work close to the farm my family settled in the 1850’s.

Truth is stranger than fiction, and years in the news business provided lots of peculiar characters and stories to write about. My books are set in my favorite places, the desert canyons and high mountains of the American West.
