About No Regrets

On my last birthday, I made one vow for the year. Live with no regrets. Eleven months have passed, though, and nothing has changed. I still sleep alone, spend my life working, and never move out of my comfort zone.

Then the loss of my dog throws my whole life out of orbit, and I end up in bed with a very hot and slightly-too-young veterinarian, who has recently made a vow of his own. Live with no strings. Josh is more than happy to help me with the things I’ve been afraid to try. Semi-public sex. Spanking. Anal sex. He’s a willing partner for everything I’ve wondered about, as long as I don’t demand more.

He’s serious about his no-strings philosophy. As serious as I am about living with no regrets. I can’t help but fall for him, even though I know better. So my biggest regret might be a broken heart.

Excerpt

I couldn’t stay on this park bench forever.

I hadn’t moved yet. I was still staring blindly at the dogs and people on the path when I noticed from the corner of my eye a man slowing down from a run and then jogging toward me.
Glancing over, I expected him to head past me toward the parking lot, but he seemed to be coming directly toward me.
When he got close, I realized it was Dr. Bennett.
He looked different than he had this morning. He wore a t-shirt and gym shorts, both wet with perspiration. His face and short brown hair were wet too. He’d obviously been running hard.
His eyes rested on me as he approached. Obviously, he’d recognized me. Before I’d recognized him.
“Hey,” he said, breathing heavily. “How are you doing?”
“Fine.”
It was a stupid question and a stupid answer, but that’s what people do. It was part of living in a civilized world. You made up nice-sounding lies and you said them to each other, instead of talking about how much the world sucked.
His face was flushed, and he was having trouble catching his breath. Bending at the waist, he rasped, “I better do a lap to cool down. I’ll be right back.”
“Okay.”
I had no idea why he’d bother coming back. We didn’t know each other. We had nothing to say to each other. And I wasn’t really in the mood for talking.
He’d killed my dog that morning, but I could hardly hold it against him.
He took a slow jog around the track and ended up back at the bench with a water bottle in his hand. His breathing was less ragged as he sat down beside me.
He didn’t say anything, and I felt a little strange. I didn’t know exactly what he expected from me. I certainly wasn’t going to cry on his shoulder, if that was what he was thinking.
So I just asked a casual question. “You’re done with your shift for the day?”
“Yeah. I got off at three.”
“Do you always come here to run afterwards?”
“Sometimes.” His vivid blue eyes rested on my face, searching or questioning or something. “It’s on the way home.”
“Have you lived in Lexington long?”
“I grew up here—in Versailles, actually. But I just moved back to the area.”
“Where were you before?”
“Vet school.”
“Oh.” I blinked, slightly surprised. I’d landed on his age as younger than me but still in his thirties, but he must be quite a bit younger if he was just out of vet school. “So you just got your degree?”
“Yeah.” As if he could see the surprise in my face, he added, “I started late. I didn’t go right after college.”
That made more sense. The conversation, as casual as it was, managed to distract me from thoughts of Polly, so I pursued it. “What were you doing before you went to vet school.”
He didn’t answer immediately, which prompted my curiosity. To take the edge off the silence, I said, “Bank robber? Computer hacker?”
He gave a low chuckle and smiled at me—not broadly, but it still transformed his face until he was almost unbearably attractive, even as sweaty as he was. “Nothing that exciting. I was in Chad.”
“Chad? In Africa?
“Yeah.”
“Wow.” My eyes widened in surprise. “What were you doing there?”
“International aid work. I started right after college and did it through most of my twenties. I was mostly in Chad and Sudan.”
“So what made you decide to be a vet instead?”
He gave a strange little shrug and looked away from me. “I couldn’t do it anymore. And animals…are different.”
I studied him, trying to read his expression, trying to interpret the paradoxically empty bitterness on his face. There was obviously more going on with him, but there was no reason to expect him to tell me.
There was no reason I needed to know.
“What do you do?” he asked, obviously trying to change the subject.
“Paralegal.”
“Who do you work for?”
We chatted for almost a half-hour, about my job, about how he was settling back into the area, about running—which I used to do, although not much recently.
Eventually, the perspiration had dried on his skin and his clothes, and we’d both faded into reflective silence.
I felt a little better—like I wasn’t on the verge of tears—but the thought of going home still filled my stomach with dread.
He’d been staring off in the distance, and he said without warning, “This morning was the first time I’ve had to do that.”
I glanced at him in surprise, realizing immediately what he was referring to. “Aren’t you supposed to be professional and distanced about the whole thing?”
“I guess. I thought I’d be able to keep the right perspective with animals, but it was harder than I thought. She seemed like a very sweet dog.”
I took a loud, ragged breath as emotion surged up. “She was.”
“I’m really sorry.”
“Thanks.” I took a few more breaths until I was in control again. “I really don’t want to go home.”
“Do you want to get a drink or something?”
I blinked. “Right now, you mean?”
“Yeah. Why not? I don’t want to go home either.”
I finally landed on an explanation for his mood. He seemed adrift, kind of lost, not emotional but torn in some way.
I wondered what he’d experienced in Chad. What it had done to him. Why he’d decided against working with people anymore.
Even yesterday, I would have said “no” to his invitation. For the last few months, I hadn’t done much of anything except go to work and take care of Polly. I hadn’t liked to leave her in the evenings.
It had been years since I’d had a drink with a guy I didn’t know, and this particular guy was too young for me anyway.
But it was just a drink. Nothing more. He wasn’t coming on to me. He was just being nice. And it would give me something to do with myself, other than go home to an apartment without Polly.
I felt a little better, talking to him. Like the world wasn’t about to pull me into some sort of black hole.
I remembered my vow, eleven months ago, on the day I’d turned thirty-eight.
I was supposed to be living with no regrets, and so far I hadn’t done a good job.
This would be something I wouldn’t have to regret.
“Okay,” I said. “Why not?”

Beautiful Young Smiling Couple In Love Embracing Indoor

Permanent Bliss (Bliss #3.5)

Blurb
Makenna Lewis never thought she would be the one walking down the aisle to marry her superhero. But then again, she hadn’t expected Daniel Winters to crash into her life and tilt her world off its axis two years earlier. As they celebrate their last days of singledom, they find themselves battling over the guest list, managing the in-laws, and dealing with last minute disasters that threaten to disrupt their special day.
In true Bliss fashion, we’ll see freak-outs, awkward situations, hilarity, drama, and cringe-worthy moments as Mac and Daniel prepare for one of the most important days of their lives. Join the Bliss gang as they watch two of their own walk down the aisle and conclude their happily ever after.
This companion novella follows on from the end of True Bliss and will lead into Finding Bliss – Noah ‘Walking Dildo’ Taylor’s story.

***Disclaimer – Hot sex, drunken texts, horny phone calls, and a wedding anticipated by all but one. And, of course, a few freak outs along the way (but NOT the kind you’re used to) because that’s how Mac rolls  ***

SNEAK PEEK!!!

“Gorgeous, you still there?” he says with a laugh.
“Always here for you. Hey, remember last night when I woke you up with my-”
“Makena Lewis, you kiss your kids with that mouth?” my mother scolds from the seat opposite me. I glance my hazy eyes toward her, snorting out loud at her attempt to keep a straight face. The corners of her mouth twitch as she struggles to appear stern and serious.
“Yep,” I announce proudly as I try to sit up straight and fail spectacularly. I slide off the smooth black leather seats and land with a thump on my ass, meeting the floor with my legs askew and my skirt around my waist, flashing the group my bright red lace thong.
“Shit,” I mutter as the women gasp in shock before roaring with laughter at my drunken misfortune.
“Mac, what the hell?” Daniel calls out desperately.
“I …” I struggle to talk as I get the giggles and can no longer control myself—legs included it seems. I brush my skirt down and pull myself back up onto the seat. “I’m so drunk I don’t care,” I say to both him and the rest of the vehicle.
“Sounds like you’re having a good time, Gorgeous. Enjoy your night, and remember the promise you made. No trouble and lots of messy drunken sex when you roll in the door later.”
My body heats up, and my mind is full of sexy ideas and finger vault images of Daniel’s naked body. Down girl!
“God,” I moan. “Why did you have to bring that up right now? Turn the car around, I have sexing to do!” I announce loudly.
“Gorgeous, I’ll let you go.” His voice lowers, full of need. “But remember those dirty thoughts going through your pretty head right now and be prepared to reenact them later when you’re standing naked in front of me.”
Ladies, I’ve hit the motherfucking jackpot with this man.
“I can promise you this, the next time I’m naked in front of you, Superman, I won’t be standing. I’ll be on my knees.”

“My name is Addie Sakis, I had a promising future once. I had my whole life planned out, but after that tragic day, everything changed. The world I coveted no longer existed. AUTHOR

I am a mother to two young children, who in turn keep me young. I live in Dublin, Ireland but, I’m originally from South Devon in the UK. I work full time in a pharmacy and write in all my spare time: in my lunch hour, when watching TV at night and anywhere the urge takes me.
I have always been interested in reading from a young age and then 2 years ago I was given a kindle as a present and it was the best thing that happened to me. I was able to read lots of books ever week and then I started to write reviews for all the books I read.
I took this one step further and started my own facebook page – Sparkling Pink Bookshelf. I intended to upload all of my reviews for the books I read. This was purely for pleasure and then I answered a post on facebook for someone to read for reviews and thought I had died and gone to heaven. I was reading about 7/8 books a week, the kindle made this achievable. I would read at any opportunity I could, even staying up til the small hours to finish a book. I loved it.
Then one day I was asked to beta read a book – I loved this side of it, it was so exciting. I have worked with a number of indie authors and have remained loyal to a few select authors and I beta read all their books.
After a year or more of doing this, I thought maybe I could write some of the stories that were in my head and I just decided to write and see what happened. I wrote about 70% of a story and then saw a post for the NaNoWriMo competition – to write 50,000 words in 30 days, I decided that this was a challenge I wanted to take and the Til Death Us Do Part series was born.
I am always thinking of situations that can be turned into a story and have started a few stories, which in turn will be completed and released to my readers.
I love to hear what my readers have to say about my work and please find my links below:

Thank you for your support and I hope you enjoy this series of books as much as I enjoyed writing them.

Leaving Me Behind Teaser1

Excerpt

“So how did you like our wine?” he gestures with a hint of a knowing glee at the half empty evidence on the table.

“Umm, it was good.”

He cocks an eyebrow.

“Frankly, I’m not much of a wine person. I’m more a sweet cocktail kind of gal. It was very good, but I couldn’t elaborate on the taste or anything else like you experts would…”

“I see…” he says somewhat pensive. He motions for me to take a seat at the sofa, and settles himself on the coffee table in front of me. His legs are slightly parted, almost touching mine nudged between them. He takes the bottle and deftly gets rid of the cork.

“Let’s try to do it together,” he says, his voice a degree huskier. “You need to use your scent, taste and sight to evaluate wine.” He gives me a soft, yet very suggestive look. “Sight,” he says as he brings the bottle to his mouth. His lips wrap around the narrow opening and he takes a slow sip. I swallow hard. He then inclines his head toward me, cups my neck to slightly tilt my head back and touches his mouth to mine. As I part my lips, his tongue reaches in with some of the wine and starts to stroke mine through the rich moistness. It twirls around, letting the delectable liquid reach every part of my mouth. I suck hard on his tongue, tasting the wine and my desire that grows with every erotic stroke of his.

“Taste,” he says low as he pulls back. “Keep your eyes closed, Liv. I’m going to do that again. I want you to suck on it, swirl it in your mouth, and try to think what flavors come to your mind.” And he does, and everything inside me tightens, and everything around me melts, and everything about me arouses.

“Open them, now tell me if it’s balanced,” he kisses my lips gently. “Complex.” Another kiss. “Evolved.” A more profound one.

Tastes like an orgasm? I close my eyes, lick my slightly pulsing lips, his hand trails slowly under the hem of my dress, holding my thigh. I lick my lips again.

“It tastes … warm, and rich.”

“Mmm, hmm,” his hand sprawls, making my skin burn at the spot.

“Fruity, and sexy,” I add quietly, my eyes still closed, the edge of my lips slightly curving.

“Keep going,” his other hand cups my cheek, and his thumb is touching, not touching my lips.

“It tastes like something I want again in my mouth.” My eyelids slowly lift and I look at him with everything that rages inside of me.

“Sold,” he says gruffly, with a hint of a smile. “Oh, and there’s the scent,” he adds next, nuzzling the area just below my ear. “Divine.”

PROLOGUE

February 12th 2014

I look down at Cory and feel
nothing; no joy at breaking him, no happiness at succeeding, and certainly no
sadness over lost love. I don’t really remember feelings nowadays. Love isn’t
real. It hurts people. It’s a word used too often without meaning. I have no
time for love. I am empty. A single vessel floating around a universe of
nothing. I have no reason to feel anymore. No real reason.
The weeping man before me
brings no emotions out in me. They never do, they’re just collateral damage.
They’re all the same – easy to please, easy to hurt, full of broken promises.
The world would be better off without men in it.
I didn’t need to ruin Cory.
I was ready when I left Scott. Cory just happened to catch my eye at the right
time. Or wrong time, depending on how you look at it. I want to laugh at his
pathetic display of weakness. Crying over a break up? Disgusting. Love sucks,
get over it already!
“You’re weak. Nothing but a
pathetic piece of shit.” I snarl.
“I don’t understand. Why?
What’s changed since this morning?” his eyes plead with me. This is the part I
like. Seeing how far I can push them. “Baby, I love you.”
“You think you love me after
three months?” I laugh and shake my head. “You were easy.”
“I do. You know I do. You
feel the same, you said you loved me. Why did you fuck him?” I can see the
doubt set in as he looks up at me. I smile. Stupid man.
“I’ve never loved you. It
was all a game. You were a game.” He sucks in a shocked gasp. “I saw you the
night before in the bar. You’d cheated on your girlfriend, but you were still
trying to make her feel bad for your actions. After you got caught. Like it was
her fault your dick slipped into the redhead. I had to have you then.”
I walk to him and crouch
down so we’re eye level. “It took one flash of leg to get your attention. One
smile to get a drink. Three days for you to say you were sorry for the first
time. By day eight you told me you loved me.” I tilt my head to the side to
look at the poor excuse of a man I’ve been shacked up with for the past three
months.
“Why are you doing this?” he
cries as his head drops forward, shoulders hutched over in defeat.
“Because I can.” I snap.
“You tried to manipulate a vulnerable woman. You used love to hurt her. I
couldn’t let you get away with that, you needed to feel the pain you caused
your ex.”
“So this has all been
revenge for Carol?” Cory asks in an incredulous voice.
“No. I’ve never spoken to
Carol before. This was about more than just your ex, Cory. It was about the man
you are. What you represent. I knew on day five that you would be the easiest.
A few words in your ear and you believed my words over a fourteen year
friendship. Never put hoes before bros, it’s a known fact. That friendship took
twelve days to break. Twelve days as opposed to fourteen years?” I laugh at his
stupidity, shaking my head. “Pathetic.”
“Tony didn’t?”
“Tony certainly did. Just
not the way I told you.” I’m ready to leave. I stand and move to collect my bag
from the kitchen table. “I never needed anything from you. I don’t need
anything from anyone.  All that money you’ve
given me, I didn’t need any of it. I just needed to see how hard you would try
to keep me.”
“Why?” realisation is
finally sinking in. He sounds broken.
“Why? Why? Because I lost
everything. All because of a man like you.” I shout at him before calming my
voice. “Your dad never touched me, you know?” a sob tears from his throat, raw
pain. “Sure, he grabbed my arm and made those marks but only after I told him I
was using you. Good thing mummy dearest believed him.”
“You bitch.” he cries,
looking torn up. Yes, he’s too broken to even stand up to me. I walk to stand
in front of him.
“I am a bitch. I don’t feel.
I don’t love. I hate. I only hate. I hate you.” I grab a hand full of his brown
hair, squeezing it into a fist then pulling his head back so he’s looking at
me. “I would say it’s been fun but you’re the same as the rest of them. A
lying, cheating, lousy lay. Have fun trying to build bridges.” I push away from
him, stride to the door, and exit, leaving it to slam behind me.
I smile as the cold,
February air stings my face. The winter sun is shining bright. It’s deceiving.
Like me, beauty surrounded by nothing but bitterness. It takes nothing but a
smile to lure men in.
I use them.
I manipulate them.
I break them.
That’s the best part,
leaving them broken with nothing and no one left. I had everything taken away
from me because of one man. The Demon.
Damon Hunt.
Damon is a hunter. He preys
on innocent women. He breaks them, tears them apart until they have nothing
more left to give.
It’s time for the hunter to
be hunted.

About the Author

7328358

I absolutely adore reading – always have and always will. My friends growing up used to tease me when I would trail after them, trying to read and walk at the same time. If I have downtime, odds are you will find me reading or writing.

I am the mother of two wonderful sons who have inspired me to chase my dream of being an author. I want them to learn from me that you can live your dream as long as you are willing to work for it.

When I told my mom that my new year’s resolution was to self-publish a book in 2013, she pretty much told me “About time!”

I am Megan Noelle! I have been writing for many years and currently have two books out that are part of a series. My For You series were the first novels I published but I had to stop everything to write Stefan and Grey’s story in, A Broken Forever. I have been writing since I was old enough to hold a pen and finally pursued my dream of becoming a novelist. Writing is my passion and I am all for following one’s passions! One of my other passions is being a mom of my adorable daughter Peyton. When I’m not writing I’m a stay at home mom and a full time student. I’m getting close to finishing my 2-year degree and I am more than ready for a break. There are many things I want to do in life, but if I can write, be with my daughter and my family—I will be happy!

5 *NEW* Random Things You Don’t Know About Me!

  1. I have recently retired my love for Diet Coke and focused solely on Diet Pepsi. And yes, I know all about aspartame, and all that bad stuff. But, it’s delicious.
  2. I would someday love to write a book that Tim Burton wants to make into a movie!
  3. I have an unfailing love for many movies I watched growing up (not just Disney) and it is very difficult for me to like anything new. Some of my favorites set the bar too high apparently! (When Harry Met Sally, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Father of the Bride Part I & II, & many more!)
  1. I have a horrible wonderful addiction to book covers!
  2. I have more story ideas in my head than I will ever be able to write.
