Her works to date include the Embracing Series and her latest works are the Deception Series Footprints, Taking Flight, Grounded and Forgiven.
The last words I heard before the darkness took me and my dreams were shattered.
I was on my way to having it all.
Friends, family and a future.
Everything I had wished for but never thought possible.
Denham King showed me just how good life could be. A life where love and happiness were within reach.
Almost.
I should have known it would never last.
My past is a dark, damp cloud, that has seeped into my skin and left a cold promise.
A promise of hurt and pain.
A promise of a long, hard fight, where the stakes are high and the risks threaten lives.
When your world gets thrown in all directions, and your dreams for the future are torn from your grasp; how do you go on?
Can I fight the demons that haunt me?
Can love save me from fate’s cruel path?
Could this series get any hotter? I have to say I think it just might. When I got the opportunity to read Holding Aces I was a little apprehensive. Books staged around Vegas just didn’t appeal to me. Nikki changes my view on that in just a few paragraphs. High Stakes has just pushed me over the edge. You know the old saying never judge a book by its cover; well I guess that stands true to never judge it by its settings!
If you looking for a book that is full of hot encounters, lots of suspense and mystery, you will find just that and more with High Stakes. I have fallen in love with this series again. Dehman is that hot alpha male that just can’t seem to say no to Arianna. He is fierce in protecting what he hold dear. Arianna is trying to find herself after living most of her adult life being told what she will do and how she will do it. She is fighting hard to gain herself back.
As we all know Nikki will not just let things run smooth with the Kings and their life’s which makes for a very powerful read.
I highly recommend this series!

“Arianna, dear. It’s nice to see you again.” Amy pushes past my shoulder, inviting herself in and taking ownership of the air around us. “Although, I wasn’t expecting to see so much,” she sneers, letting her eyes drift down the length of my legs.
I stand tall, trying not to be intimidated by her, trying to stand my ground in my apartment, but instantly feeling threatened by the way her body reacts to me, and the way her gaze makes me feel cold and uncomfortable.
She lifts her hand toward me, and tucks a long, red, predatory nail under the collar of the white shirt I am wearing, lifting it between her fingertips and gently brushing against my collarbone through the fabric as she does. It sends chills through me. She’s cold. Her aura, her demeanor, and her intentions are all icy and it radiates from her in steady pulses.
“I bet he likes you in this. I bet he asked you to wear it, am I wrong?”
Of course, she’s not wrong. She’s pretty much as correct as can fucking be. I swallow hard. Shards of her persona stick into me like little icy pins. Her words, like little needles of reality, stab into my veins. She knows him better than I do. She knows what he likes, and what he doesn’t. Has he asked her to wear his shirt for him?
Has he told her to dress in nothing but heels and diamonds for him?
The thoughts make me feel sick. But, I know that she’s playing me. I’ve seen Denham’s reaction to her. I’ve seen the contempt in his eyes when her name is mentioned, and I’ve felt the tension radiate from him when he encounters her. She’s a bitch. Pure and simple.

She not only forbids him to use her store as a location for the film he’s directing, but also refuses to cooperate with the emotional rescue he plans.

He lowered his gaze. “You had this sexy little intake of breath, and you shivered, like you were cold, every time I touched you.” She gave a similar shiver now. His voice dropped to a lower register. “I remember what it felt like—your skin. Soft as the rose petals in that greenhouse.” She found her voice. “Still remember your lines, I see.”
Kathryn Barrett reluctantly put aside childhood dreams of becoming an author and took a more practical approach, majoring in Business Administration in college. But after marrying an Air Force officer, she realized a career in high finance didn’t suit an itinerant lifestyle. She happily returned to her first love, writing stories that feature larger-than-life characters, family relationships, and of course, a happy ending.
Having lived all over the United States, Kathryn and her family now live in England, just outside London. She enjoys walking her dog in the Chiltern hills and exploring crumbling castles, and only occasionally reads the Financial Times.

“It’s my understanding you requested me specifically,” she said smoothly, but he could see that she kept moving things on her desk with her busy hands.
“That’s right, Doc.”
“So, I hope that means you plan to be serious about this consult, Mr. McCoy,” she said carefully, catching him staring at her chest. And Wyatt couldn’t hold back the smile that spread across his face.
“I’m willing to do anything for my NFL career, Doc. Besides, cut me some slack, you’re the one that wore that sexy lab coat.”
She practically growled in frustration and he loved it. He needed her off-balance for what he had in mind, but damned if he hadn’t guessed he’d enjoy it this much.
Time to push her a little more, he thought.
As he leaned across her desk and perused her body up and down, he whispered, “Though I do wish it were tighter.”
“Right. Because I sit around in a lab coat to be sexy. Like I’m in Hustler magazine or something.” She suddenly started to coo in a Marilyn Monroe breathy voice. “Oh, no. This microscope is so heavy. Guess I should bend down to relieve the weight of this massive tool. Oh, what’s here between my legs? Oh, it’s so warm down there. Maybe I should investigate? Please. So ridiculous,” she said to herself with annoyance. “Excuse me, are you okay, Mr. McCoy?”
He was definitely not okay. His mouth had fallen open slightly and all the blood had rushed to his lap. Wyatt was so hard he was practically in pain, realizing he may have underestimated this woman. Maybe. Her voice broke through his lust-filled fog.
“I thought it was your shoulder that had the issue. Do you have a head injury too?” she asked with concern, replacing her previously sultry voice.
“Um. Yeah. I mean no. Just my shoulder. You’re the second opinion on my shoulder injury, and my coach also said maybe you could help my game. I’m not sure how though.”
“It may be hard for you to imagine that you could need help from anyone, but I’ve certainly been able to assist some of your teammates to use their bodies more effectively.”
Wyatt raised an eyebrow and smirked. “Now that’s more like what I had in mind.”

Carrie Anne Ward grew up in the seaside resort Clacton on sea in Essex, England, with her mum and two brothers until she was 16 years old. She then moved with her mother to Colchester (where she still lives to this day) and went on to study Art and Design at the Colchester institute. However, after recovering from the illness glandular fever, which meant she couldn’t finish her degree, she went out into the world to become a working class citizen and a glamour model on the side.
For many years she wrote stories in her spare time, mostly horrors or supernatural, but never felt the passion to take it further. Her love for literature at school didn’t, at that point, over take her love of Art, but as she grew older her passion in writing surpass any other desire she ever had.
Her passion for writing over the years grew excessively (mostly erotica) and when BDSM erotic books took the world by storm, she finally found the genre in which she wanted to write about. So being a real submissive, Carrie decided to take the experiences she has had and combined them with her imagination, to create a story. So at the age of 33 she fulfilled her dream to become a writer by releasing her debut novel A Taylor Made Student, the first book of 3 from The Taylor Made Series.
It was beautiful; it was like something from a movie. No; it was like something from a fantasy. Taylor was, once again, back in his rightful place, towering over me, with his smooth, taut chest exposed, and wearing only a pair of tatty jeans sitting teasingly low on those chiselled V-shaped hips. The tiniest patch of dark hair trailed down his pelvis and into those jeans, and I traced my fingertips over it.
The flashing from the storm outside cast a momentary glare on Taylor’s body and handsome face, mocking me with only the slightest glimpse every now and then of his beauty. The rain tapped ceaselessly at the glass wall of Taylor’s bed room. It was deafening, but also music to my ears. It was calming, and erotic, even with the thunder rattling throughout the whole house.
Our relationship was like lightning; it was chemical and electric, and when a black shadow cast over us, the clouds would part, and a blinding light would shine through the crack. Taylor was my lightning, casting a path in the dark storm.
His fingers wrapped around my wrists as my palms lay flat upon his solid chest. I could feel the slowly increasing thump of his heart. I stood that little bit taller in my sexy, zebra print peep-toe spikes, bringing me that little bit closer to his face. I wore my matching black lace, zebra stripe thong and bra set, setting a scene that I was currently feeling inside me – I, Woman in the Wild, waiting for Taylor to claim me. The smooth, silky feeling of satin brushing between my thighs and around my swollen breasts felt incredible against my tingling flesh. I shivered, not from a chill, but from the lust and anticipation blossoming within me.
His dark penetrating eyes married with mine. He brushed my loose hair off my face and tucked it behind my ear. He stroked his hand down my neck, on to my shoulder and down the full length of my arm, then curled his fingers back round my wrist once more.
“I’ve missed this body. I love the feel of your soft skin beneath my fingers, the feel of your hair tangled within my fist, and I love you, Kiera. Every single part of you,” he whispered at my ear. I melted; I was a puddle of mush from the sound of those precious words leaving his mouth. “I know I’ve always said that I needed you, and that is still true, but honestly, I want you, Kiera. I want you in my life and to be with me. I can’t let you leave the university. We will find a way to get through this and be together.”

When I hear Lo bang at the door again, I’m ready to kill her. Hoping she will go away I don’t make any moves to get up, then I hear the banging again. I slowly get up, throw on my shorts, and open the door. I’m ready to give her hell. Until I see Damon standing there. He reaches down and grabs my right hand lifting it toward his face. My legs almost give out as I watch him insert each of my fingers into his mouth and suck on them. “The phone wasn’t enough for me.” He backs me into my room, closing the door and locking it again. Damon steps forward and I’m now pressed against the door. “I can’t wait too long to bury my aching dick inside you. I do need to taste that beautiful fucking pussy, though.” He drops down in front of me, yanks my shorts down, and I step out of them quickly. His hands skim up my legs hooking his arms around the back of my knees. I almost fall from the lack of balance when he lifts them up and rests my legs on his shoulders. His nose runs along my inner thigh and my body heats almost to the point of pain. Damon runs his tongue slowly up the length of my pussy stopping at my clit and sucking it into his mouth. I lift my arms above my head and grab onto the doorframe for support. In doing this I thrust myself toward him more and he groans in appreciation. His fingers join his mouth going to town on my already sensitive area. Before I know what hits me, my legs are starting to tremble in anticipation of my impending orgasm. When he pulls away from me, I whine in disappointment. He untangles my legs from his shoulders, and stands up. As his arms come up, grab the hem of my shirt and lift it over my head. “How is it possible that I missed you so fucking much when I just saw you earlier.” I smile, not knowing how to respond to his declaration of feelings. Damon takes my hand and leads me over to my bed, stopping just at the edge of it. My back is now to his front and I can feel his erection pressed against my ass through the thin shorts he has on. I reach behind me and hook my thumbs into his waistband and slowly lower them and myself to the floor. When I stand back up I do it slowly making sure to stick my ass out and trail it over his body. His fingers grip my hips. “I would love to fucking cherish every inch of you but I want you too damn bad.” Before I can even think of a response, he pulls back and slams into me. “God damn perfect.”
