SEDUCTION-HAVE-YOU-FINISHED (1)

The Seduction Epilogue

“Wake up, sleepy-head.”

I drift, drowsy from the soothing sound of the ocean. I’m having the most amazing dream. I’m on a tropical beach, where clear crystal water laps the powder white sand, and palm trees shade my lounger. And there’s a man. Mmmm. A gorgeous, sexy man stroking every inch of my body…

His fingers brush over my bikini top, playing with my breasts. I let out a moan.

“That’s right, baby,” he chuckles. He squeezes with my nipples through the thin fabric until they’re hard and aching. “Are you awake yet?”

“No,” I whisper, wanting to stay in the bliss of this dream. It feels so good.

“Hmmm… how about now?” His hand moves lower, over my bare stomach. I shiver. He traces lightly down between my thighs, stroking over my clit. Even through my bikini, the sensation sends a flare of pleasure through me. I gasp, rocking up against his hand.

“Still sleeping?” he murmurs, his mouth close to my ear. I can feel the heat of his breath.

I smile, but keep my eyes shut. I want to see where this goes.

“You really are tired, poor baby. I wonder what’s been wearing you out?” He sounds amused.

“My boyfriend,” I murmur, still laying with my eyes closed. “He’s insatiable.”

“I don’t blame him.” He pushes my bikini bottoms aside and rubs my clit, a maddening rhythm that makes me writhe. “Just looking at you like this, I want to sink deep into that sweet pussy and fuck you slowly until you lose your mind.”

“So why don’t you?” I challenge, breathing faster as he strokes. God, right there. Yes.

He laughs. “Soon, baby. But it’s time to wake up. I’ve got something planned for us.”

“Does it involve your cock inside me?” I moan. He answers by sliding two fingers into me, slowly, teasingly. Fuck.

“You can bet on it.” His palm presses my center as his fingers pulse deep inside me. He brings his mouth to my clit and works it with his tongue as his fingers continue their relentless rhythm inside me. He flicks my nub and then sucks, gently at first and then with increasing intensity. Just when I’m on the edge, he pushes more fingers inside me and I break. My orgasm tears through me in a delicious wave. He gets me every time.

I open my eyes to find Vaughn kneeling beside me with a sexy grin.

“I was just dreaming about you.” I smile. The beach glitters, totally empty except for us. Vaughn leans down to claim my mouth in a hot kiss.

“Good dream?” he murmurs, stroking my hair. His eyes rove over me, dark and possessive.

“The best.” I let out a contented sigh, looking at the ocean, and the setting sun — and him. “This is heaven.”

Vaughn lifts me to my feet. We stroll back to our beachfront cabana: the doors wide open to let the tropical breeze in. “You hop in the shower,” Vaughn tells me, “I’m going to get your surprise ready.”

I feel a jolt of anticipation. Vaughn loves surprising me, and his plans usually end with multiple orgasms. “Give me a hint?” I ask.

He shakes his head. “Not this time. Go on.”

He’s using that voice I love, the one that’s all man, so I follow his order and go shower off in the huge bathroom. It’s big enough for two, and we’ve definitely tested it out many times this vacation, soaping up for hours together under the jets.

I wish he was in here with me.

When I step out of the shower, there’s a box on the cabinet, tied with a red ribbon.

Wear this.

(And only this)

I open the box. It’s a gorgeous red silk dress, with a short skirt and tiny spaghetti straps. There’s nothing else in the box. No lingerie. I grin, slipping it over my head. The silk slides over my body in a shiver of sensation, sticking to my skin where I haven’t dried off. The skirt flares mid-thigh, dangerously high, and my nipples are visible through the fabric.

Something tells me we’re staying in for dinner.

My cellphone rings just as I’m applying makeup. It’s Cam, holding down the fort back at the company. I’ve kept business to a minimum on the trip. But if Cam’s calling it must be important.

“Hey boss,” he says, when I answer. “Still enjoying paradise?”

“I love it here. We might never come back.”

He laughs. “You better. We need you.”

“Everything running OK?” I ask, trying not to sound nervous. I finish fixing my hair in the mirror to fall in loose, natural waves.

“The police say Carter will do jail time for attempted murder, so I wanted you to know that he is in for good. But there’s still no word from Brent.”

I’m reassured that Carter will go exactly where he belongs—the slammer. But damn Brent. I take a deep breath.

“Will you do me a favor?” I ask. “Check on Isabelle. I don’t know what’s going on with her, but I know she’s mixed up in something with Brent. I just have a feeling she might need help.”

“Sure.” Cam sounds surprised. “I’ll keep an eye on her.”

“Thanks. I’ve got to run.”

“A busy schedule of beach and cocktails?”

I laugh. “Something like that.”

I hang up push open the bathroom door, stepping out into our suite. I’m not going to think about Carter or that sicko Brent.

“Vaughn?” I call, but there’s no reply.

Another box sits on the coffee table. I open it, my anticipation rising. Inside is a red satin blindfold and another note.

Later.

My pulse kicks. I’m going to like this surprise, I’m certain.

I hear movement outside. I step out onto our private patio to see a table laid for two with beautiful white linens and silverware. There’s delicious-looking food and candles flickering as the sun sets lower over the ocean in a blaze of pink and gold.

“You look beautiful,” Vaughn’s voice comes from behind me. I turn. He’s wearing slacks and a white shirt open at the neck, devastatingly handsome like something from a movie. He carries a bottle of champagne and two glasses to the table, pausing to murmur in my ear as he passes.

“You’re going to look more beautiful naked in that blindfold with your wet mouth wrapped around my cock.”

Still my Vaughn. I feel a rush of heat between my naked thighs. Vaughn chuckles and pulls out a chair for me.

I sit, taking in the gorgeous scene. “I can’t believe you did this.”

“It’s our last night on the island.” Vaughn smiles across the table at me. “I want it to be a night you remember.”

“I remember everything,” I admit, feeling a rush of love and desire. “Every minute we spend together.” Ever since meeting Vaughn, my life has turned upside down. We’ve been through so much together, and even though I feel closer to him than anyone else in my life, it still amazes me how new and exciting this still feels.

He surprises me. He challenges me. And God, he turns me on.

“No regrets?” Vaughn asks quietly. His eyes burn into mine from across the table.

“None,” I swear, reaching to hold his hand. “I love you. I’m just glad all the mess with Ashcroft and Ridley is over now. We can just be together.”

Vaughn pulls his hand away. “One last surprise,” he says, pulling a final box from his pocket. He places it on the table in front of me, tied with another red ribbon.

A ring-sized box.

My heart stops. It can’t be…

I look up at him, but he just smiles. “Open it.”

I unwrap the ribbon with shaking hands. Inside is the most beautiful diamond ring I’ve ever seen in my life.

“Vaughn…”

He goes down on one knee beside me. Vaughn takes the ring box, and cradles my hand. “You’ve changed my life, Keely. I was lost before I met you. I never thought that I could have this. Us. That I would love someone like I love you.”

I feel a sob rise in my throat. “I feel the same,” I whisper. “I’m so happy I have you.”

“You’re mine,” Vaughn says, and already I’m crying too much to get the words out. I just nod.

“Yes! Of course.”

He slides the ring on my finger and then pulls me into his arms. I fit just right, made to press against his firm muscle and heat. It’s overwhelming, the thought of him forever. All Vaughn. All mine.

“You and me, baby,” Vaughn murmurs, claiming my lips in a scorching kiss. “I promise, I’m going to spend the rest of our lives making you smile… making you laugh…”

His hands slide lower, under the hem of my dress.

“Making you scream.”

About No Regrets

On my last birthday, I made one vow for the year. Live with no regrets. Eleven months have passed, though, and nothing has changed. I still sleep alone, spend my life working, and never move out of my comfort zone.

Then the loss of my dog throws my whole life out of orbit, and I end up in bed with a very hot and slightly-too-young veterinarian, who has recently made a vow of his own. Live with no strings. Josh is more than happy to help me with the things I’ve been afraid to try. Semi-public sex. Spanking. Anal sex. He’s a willing partner for everything I’ve wondered about, as long as I don’t demand more.

He’s serious about his no-strings philosophy. As serious as I am about living with no regrets. I can’t help but fall for him, even though I know better. So my biggest regret might be a broken heart.

Excerpt

I couldn’t stay on this park bench forever.

I hadn’t moved yet. I was still staring blindly at the dogs and people on the path when I noticed from the corner of my eye a man slowing down from a run and then jogging toward me.
Glancing over, I expected him to head past me toward the parking lot, but he seemed to be coming directly toward me.
When he got close, I realized it was Dr. Bennett.
He looked different than he had this morning. He wore a t-shirt and gym shorts, both wet with perspiration. His face and short brown hair were wet too. He’d obviously been running hard.
His eyes rested on me as he approached. Obviously, he’d recognized me. Before I’d recognized him.
“Hey,” he said, breathing heavily. “How are you doing?”
“Fine.”
It was a stupid question and a stupid answer, but that’s what people do. It was part of living in a civilized world. You made up nice-sounding lies and you said them to each other, instead of talking about how much the world sucked.
His face was flushed, and he was having trouble catching his breath. Bending at the waist, he rasped, “I better do a lap to cool down. I’ll be right back.”
“Okay.”
I had no idea why he’d bother coming back. We didn’t know each other. We had nothing to say to each other. And I wasn’t really in the mood for talking.
He’d killed my dog that morning, but I could hardly hold it against him.
He took a slow jog around the track and ended up back at the bench with a water bottle in his hand. His breathing was less ragged as he sat down beside me.
He didn’t say anything, and I felt a little strange. I didn’t know exactly what he expected from me. I certainly wasn’t going to cry on his shoulder, if that was what he was thinking.
So I just asked a casual question. “You’re done with your shift for the day?”
“Yeah. I got off at three.”
“Do you always come here to run afterwards?”
“Sometimes.” His vivid blue eyes rested on my face, searching or questioning or something. “It’s on the way home.”
“Have you lived in Lexington long?”
“I grew up here—in Versailles, actually. But I just moved back to the area.”
“Where were you before?”
“Vet school.”
“Oh.” I blinked, slightly surprised. I’d landed on his age as younger than me but still in his thirties, but he must be quite a bit younger if he was just out of vet school. “So you just got your degree?”
“Yeah.” As if he could see the surprise in my face, he added, “I started late. I didn’t go right after college.”
That made more sense. The conversation, as casual as it was, managed to distract me from thoughts of Polly, so I pursued it. “What were you doing before you went to vet school.”
He didn’t answer immediately, which prompted my curiosity. To take the edge off the silence, I said, “Bank robber? Computer hacker?”
He gave a low chuckle and smiled at me—not broadly, but it still transformed his face until he was almost unbearably attractive, even as sweaty as he was. “Nothing that exciting. I was in Chad.”
“Chad? In Africa?
“Yeah.”
“Wow.” My eyes widened in surprise. “What were you doing there?”
“International aid work. I started right after college and did it through most of my twenties. I was mostly in Chad and Sudan.”
“So what made you decide to be a vet instead?”
He gave a strange little shrug and looked away from me. “I couldn’t do it anymore. And animals…are different.”
I studied him, trying to read his expression, trying to interpret the paradoxically empty bitterness on his face. There was obviously more going on with him, but there was no reason to expect him to tell me.
There was no reason I needed to know.
“What do you do?” he asked, obviously trying to change the subject.
“Paralegal.”
“Who do you work for?”
We chatted for almost a half-hour, about my job, about how he was settling back into the area, about running—which I used to do, although not much recently.
Eventually, the perspiration had dried on his skin and his clothes, and we’d both faded into reflective silence.
I felt a little better—like I wasn’t on the verge of tears—but the thought of going home still filled my stomach with dread.
He’d been staring off in the distance, and he said without warning, “This morning was the first time I’ve had to do that.”
I glanced at him in surprise, realizing immediately what he was referring to. “Aren’t you supposed to be professional and distanced about the whole thing?”
“I guess. I thought I’d be able to keep the right perspective with animals, but it was harder than I thought. She seemed like a very sweet dog.”
I took a loud, ragged breath as emotion surged up. “She was.”
“I’m really sorry.”
“Thanks.” I took a few more breaths until I was in control again. “I really don’t want to go home.”
“Do you want to get a drink or something?”
I blinked. “Right now, you mean?”
“Yeah. Why not? I don’t want to go home either.”
I finally landed on an explanation for his mood. He seemed adrift, kind of lost, not emotional but torn in some way.
I wondered what he’d experienced in Chad. What it had done to him. Why he’d decided against working with people anymore.
Even yesterday, I would have said “no” to his invitation. For the last few months, I hadn’t done much of anything except go to work and take care of Polly. I hadn’t liked to leave her in the evenings.
It had been years since I’d had a drink with a guy I didn’t know, and this particular guy was too young for me anyway.
But it was just a drink. Nothing more. He wasn’t coming on to me. He was just being nice. And it would give me something to do with myself, other than go home to an apartment without Polly.
I felt a little better, talking to him. Like the world wasn’t about to pull me into some sort of black hole.
I remembered my vow, eleven months ago, on the day I’d turned thirty-eight.
I was supposed to be living with no regrets, and so far I hadn’t done a good job.
This would be something I wouldn’t have to regret.
“Okay,” I said. “Why not?”

Synopsis

“It’s the sign of a true artisan when he can create beauty from what others consider trash. It takes heart to use a twisted bit of scrap and make something from it as if it were good wood.”

Somehow Joe survived the unlivable, and now he’s just going through the motions. An endless string of one night stands does little to dull the ache from all he’s lost. Even though he distracts himself daily with back-breaking work, his violent rage still simmers just under the surface.

Then along comes Molly, the feisty baby sister of his two best friends. Joe hasn’t seen her in years, and he’s unprepared for his reaction to her when she falls out of the food truck and into his arms. Molly is still as mouthy as ever, and now she’s as delicious as the food she’s serving up. It’s totally against “The Bro Code”, but he just can’t seem to keep his hands off of her.

Molly has come back home to Austin to mend fences and feed a whole new crowd. Dealing with Joe’s demons doesn’t figure into her business model. Something is very different about him and she craves the ‘Old Joe’ she used to have a crush on.

Still, the broody carpenter’s swagger is damn near irresistible. And all work and no play makes Molly a cranky girl.

You see, there’s more to me than the braid that spills down my back. More to me than the layers of heavy fabric that maintain my modesty. And so much more than the oppressive wedding band that adorns my finger–the same band that each of my sister wives wear. So much more. To protest would be sinful. I must keep sweet, that is my duty.
So I’ll wear the lipstick. I’ll do as I’m told. And I’ll do my best to silence the resistance within me, to push him from my mind. If only my heart would do the same.

About The Lemon Orchard

A heartrending, timely love story of two people from seemingly different worlds—at once dramatic and romantic

In the five years since Julia last visited her aunt and uncle’s home in Malibu, her life has been turned upside down by her daughter’s death. She expects to find nothing more than peace and solitude as she house-sits with only her dog, Bonnie, for company. But she finds herself drawn to the handsome man who oversees the lemon orchard. Roberto expertly tends the trees, using the money to support his extended Mexican family. What connection could these two people share? The answer comes as Roberto reveals the heartbreaking story of his own loss—a pain Julia knows all too well, but for one striking difference: Roberto’s daughter was lost but never found. And despite the odds he cannot bear to give up hope.

Set in the sea and citrus-scented air of the breathtaking Santa Monica Mountains, The Lemon Orchard is an affirming story about the redemptive power of compassion and the kind of love that seems to find us when we need it most.

Excerpt

Roberto

September 2012

Right now the breeze blew cool off the Pacific, but Roberto knew it could shift at any time. Summer had ended, and now the desert winds would start: the Santa Anas, roaring through the mountain passes, heating up as they sank from higher elevations down to the coast, and any flash, even from a power tool, could ignite the canyon. It had been dry for two months straight. He walked to the barn, where the control panel was located, and turned on the sprinklers.
The water sprayed up, catching rainbows as the sun crested the eastern mountains. It hissed, soft and constant, and Roberto couldn’t help thinking of the sound as money draining away. Water was delivered to the orchard via canal, and was expensive. The Rileys had told him many times that the important thing was the health of the trees and lemons, and to protect the land from fire.

He had something even more important to do before his coworkers arrived: make the coastal path more secure. He grabbed a sledgehammer and cut through the grove to the cliff edge. The summer-dry hillsides sloped past the sparkling pool, down in a widening V to the Pacific Ocean. Occasionally hikers crossed Riley land to connect with the Backbone Trail and other hikes in the mountain range. Years back someone had installed stanchions and a chain: a rudimentary fence to remind people the drop was steep, five hundred feet down to the canyon floor.

He tested the posts and found some loosened. Mudslides and temblers made the land unstable. He wished she would stay off this trail entirely, walk the dog through the orchard, where he could better keep an eye on them, or at least use the paths on the inland side of the property. But she seemed to love the ocean. He’d seen her pass this way both mornings since she’d arrived, stopping to stare out to sea while the dog rustled through the chaparral and coastal sage.

He tapped the first post to set his aim, then swung the sledge- hammer overhead, metal connecting with metal with a loud gong. He felt the shock of the impact in the bones of his wrists and shoulders. Moving down the row of stanchions, he drove each one a few inches deeper into the ground until they were solidly embedded. The wind was blowing toward the house. He hoped the sound wouldn’t bother her, but he figured it wouldn’t. She rose early, like him.

About the Authors

RMwinterauthorpic

Yep. That’s an “s.” There are two of us!

We’re East coast girls separated by Long Island Sound who met in Physician Assistant School and have been besties ever since. We can safely say that thirteen miles of water does not get in the way because we talk or text, no exaggeration, at least 150 times a day. No, really, we do—about everything and nothing. Shockingly, we never (we mean never) run out of things to say. Umm, ever. We definitely laugh A LOT and we’re a tad sarcastic. And if we’re being totally honest, one or two people might have, on occasion, used our names and ‘dramatic’ in the same sentence. But it’s hard to trust the sources since they married us.

It only took twelve years, two husbands, five kids, two dogs, and a two-week vacation in Cape Cod later to decide the romance world needed a splash of medicine. Write what you know.

So you can easily find us at 4 o’clock on Bank Street beach with a glass of cold Prosecco brainstorming. And guaranteed if we bump into you, literally, it’s only because our iPhones are glued to our hands (totally out of our control) either writing or editing our next novel (and yes, it is possible to do from your iPhone, we mastered it … damn those straight quotations).

When we are not working on our book or reading the latest angsty romance on our kindles, you basically name it and we have it going on. Soccer, lacrosse, golf, swimming, dance, gymnastics, football, chess, baseball, basketball, skiing, ice skating, school, homework, and more school.

Oh yeah, did we forget to mention our careers in medicine?

Needless to say, we realized fast that something had to go, so we opted for sleep. It’s completely overrated (yet so AMAZING) and delirium makes everything funnier. Good thing we share a brain and can pretty much complete each other’s sentences (definitely weird, we know).

So that’s our story, who we are … just add AUTHORS to the list!

Broken Road ( Breaking Black) By Addison Kline ♥ Cover Reveal

Broken Road – Book 2 in the Breaking Black Series and the sequel to Black Horse

It is
often said that time heals all wounds. It is spoken like a promise… a vow.
These words are repeated to people who have been beaten down to their lowest
state. To the poor souls who have nothing left to lose. Whispered into the ear
of a grieving daughter, told with a shrug to a man who has nothing left to live
for.
These are
dangerous people.
The
down-trodden.
The grieving.
The ones
who love more people dead than alive.
The words
should never be uttered. Not to the ones who have no solid ground on which to
stand upon, no rail in which to clasp. The white-knuckled moments of life have
come to be expected rather than feared.
“Time heals all wounds.”
The words
are an insult. A slap in the face… and around here, they’ll get you hurt. For
Averi McClain and her husband Colt, there were few deeper insults.
If time
could heal all wounds, Jessa McClain would be proud to know that she was going
to be a grandmother. Nathan Ford would have proudly walked his little girl down
the aisle with Corinne beaming from her seat. Sitting by her side, Anna McCord
would wipe a tear from her eye. Standing proudly by Colt and Randy at the
arbor, Seth would have stood as a groomsman for his childhood friend. That is,
if time truly healed all wounds.
But what
about the hurts you cannot see? The deep gashes and the mangled hearts that
remain after the brutality of a war. Their childhood was a battlefield. Colt
and Averi didn’t want that for their own sons and daughters.
What does
time to do wounds? Time is nothing but a reminder of how much time has past
since you last saw the ones you love most. The line is bullshit. A scape goat.
A cheap cop out. It is something people say when they don’t know what to say.
It’s not deep or sympathetic. It doesn’t stop the heart from bleeding. Colt
would not have a granite wall built around his heart like a fortress. A barrier
which only Averi could crack.
Randy’s
soul would not quake with anger every time he heard mention of Black Horse, his
roving band of lunatics, also known as the Seventy Devils, or Jimmy Hearns. You
can’t even say the name Trent Myers to him without his sanity flickering out of
sight. Tim wouldn’t have to fight his anger out at the gym for several hours,
five days a week. Shelly’s sense of security would be intact and undisturbed.
Averi’s legs would not be permanently scarred with evidence of Black Horse’s
fiery insanity.
Time doesn’t
heal all wounds. Wounds fester. Sometimes the strain and exertion of trying to
get
better puts so much stress on the wound that the scab rips open, stitches and
scar tissue be damned.
Some
wounds cannot be mended.
Some
lines are just begging to be crossed.
Some
roads are meant to be broken.
As one of
Averi’s favorite bands so poignantly croons, “God blessed the broken road
that led me straight to you.” In the case of Colt and Averi, no song
lyrics could more perfectly describe the road that they have traveled. They
have a love like no other, acting as a guiding light, a beacon in a world turned
dark by Black Horse. What would you do if the the one man you couldn’t live
without, was the son of the bastard that murdered your parents and your eldest
brother? In the case of Averi Ford, she knew Colt was nothing like his father.
He had spent his entire life running from his shadow. He had always been the
one to protect Averi, even moreso than her ever watchful brothers. You can’t
turn away from a love like that.
Theirs
was a love that was intensified by pain and longing, desperation and heartache.
They faced seemingly unsurmountable odds, and continue to do so, side by side.
She needed him, not to be her hero, but as her equal and her friend until the
end of their days. He needed her, not only physically, but spiritually,
emotionally, he had wrapped all his hope in her. His humanity relied on her
happiness. If her heart ceased to beat, he would let the darkness overcome him.
He wouldn’t stop until every single member of the Seventy Devils were dead.
Lord
knows Randy and Tim would fight right alongside him. Averi was as essential to
Colt as oxygen. Without her, the Colt that she knew and loved would cease to
exist. They loved each other despite the odds they faced; in spite of those who
said they shouldn’t. Averi loved him regardless of his family history, of the
stares and gossip, the upturned noses and blatant hostility. When Colt McClain
walks into a room, the citizens of Oakely don’t see him. They don’t see his
face or his kind soul. They don’t see him at all. They see Black Horse – the
man he so closely resembles, but whose hearts are night and day. There is a key
difference. There is a gentle warmth to Colt’s gaze. A calm depth that if you
look deep enough, you can see all the good in him. Look into Black Horse’s eyes
and you’ll see your own demise. When people look Colt’s way, they see a
murderer, a thief, a snake. They see a man with no soul. But Colt never killed
a man that didn’t have it coming, and let me tell you, Jimmy Hearns has it
coming.
Most
motorcycle clubs are not street gangs, but in the case of the Seventy Devils,
there was no point in hiding it. The Seventy Devils ran the streets of Oakeley.
The Seventy Devils, the band of lawless savages that did Black Horse’s bidding,
lived on, leaderless and hell bent on anarchy. When the strange circumstances
surrounding Black Horse’s death went public, Jimmy monopolized. Playing the
role of a mourning son, Jimmy earned the respect and the power Texas’ most
violent motorcycle gang. To say the devils are out for blood is an
understatement of epic proportions. The band of sociopathic heathens were
rallied by Black Horse’s death. It was a call to action, a call to arms, each
one of them thirsty to drain the blood from Black Horse’s murderer. Each one
yearning to display his killer’s head on a pike for the whole community to see.
If the Seventy Devils were hostile during Black Horse’s reign, it was nothing
compared to their mental state after Black Horse was found burned, shot and
murdered.
A war has
erupted. The Seventy Devils are scattered and on alert, gnawing at the bit for
the go-ahead to strike. They would not hesitate to spill the blood of anyone
who stood in their way of recompense. They knew they would need to act fast if
they wanted to come out on top. Colt was not the kind of guy that you slept on.
He’d stop at nothing to protect his family and he was lethal whether he was
heavily armed or going toe to toe, bare knuckled beat-down style. Colt did have
Black Horse’s blood coursing through his veins, after all. But then, so did
Jimmy, and he is ready to show everyone that the apple didn’t fall far from the
tree… in fact, they appear to have formed on the same poisoned branch.
As leader
of the Devils, Jimmy had seventy miscreants to do his bidding – and three goals
in which he needed to achieve:
1.      Avenge Black Horse
2.      Kill Colt McClain and Randy Ford
3.      Take Averi for his own
Jimmy has
another thing coming if he thinks victory is easily won. Will Colt and Averi’s
broken road end in tragedy? Or will they be the ones to banish the devils
straight to hell? When the demons of the past rise up, can Colt and Randy face
them fearless and determined? Whatever happens, don’t expect Colt and Randy to
stand alone. Buckle up. The broken road makes for one hell of a ride.

Excerpt

Gabe silently thanked God his houseguest escaped into the shower as soon as she possibly could. The tour of the house had just about done him in. Isabelle’s oohs and aahs had been genuine, as had her love of his favorite room in the place. Unlike Naomi, who had taken one look at his apartment and immediately begun calculating how she could move in permanently, Isabelle, who he had invited, not only wanted to pay her way but she planned to leave as soon as possible.

Not if he had his way.

Back at the police station, outside in the rain, it’d been all he could do not to reach out and swipe his hands over her responsive nipples, feel her tremble beneath his touch, and get rid of the ridiculous distance between them. He might not know her well, but he’d always felt they’d connected. The physical attraction was obvious. She was all woman, supple curves, her breasts full and lush, and she possessed one hell of an ass. His cock twitched with the desire he’d felt from the moment he’d first seen her on Daltry’s arm.

But things ran deeper. They’d shared banter and flirting during opportune moments when he’d caught her alone. He’d had glimpses of the intelligent, witty woman she was when not with that pompous ass. But not until today had he really seen beyond the exterior beauty to the depth beneath. Those sexy blonde curls that bounced wildly around her face were a proud testament to the fiercely independent woman she desperately wanted to be.

The woman he intended to help her find.

It wouldn’t be easy. Isabelle needed gentling. Understanding. Patience. Not his best traits, but when it came to her, he’d already exercised plenty. He’d bided his time, knowing Daltry would fuck up sooner or later. The balls that made him a crack financial investor also imbued an arrogance that would be his downfall. And it had been.

It was Gabe’s good fortune that Daltry’s screw-up had landed Isabelle at his brother’s police station. Seeing her there had given him insight he wouldn’t have had otherwise. In Isabelle, he saw an intriguing combination of weary life experience and innocent ingenue. It was the innocence the most primitive part of him wanted to conquer, to possess. Since he’d begun running his father’s empire at the age of twenty-one, the same age he’d been drafted into surrogate parenthood to his sister, he had always gotten what he wanted.

And Gabe wanted Isabelle.
